An eclectic store, even before you walk in. Upon walking in you'll find a wide selection of vinyl and CD's, as well as books and other music related items...something to appeal to every musical taste. A friendly vibe and lots to browse means I could easily lose lots of time in a store like this. Unfortunately on the day of my visit, we had a lot of distance to cover, so couldn't stay as long as I would've liked. There were plenty of unique things to see though, and be sure to visit the downstairs for even more. If you're like me and a big fan of "record stores", you'll love this place. Just give yourself some time to browse, and be sure to bring some extra cash to spend.

That's how important watching movies is to me; I try to watch 3-4 a week at the minimum, so I needed something. Per the recommendation of a friend, I stopped in this place when passing by one day and decided to have a look-see. At first I was confused at the order and seemingly random collection, but after a second I realized this place is a video store with integrity. There is a wonderful balance of films from France, Spain, Germany, the US and probably more. One of my favorite things is that some of the movies are organized by director so instead of browsing large sections by genre you can choose your movie by style, which is so important for whatever mood you're in. Sofia Coppola will provide a different night than David Lynch... The lady behind the counter was super helpful and recommended that I go to the shop in Tirso, which I will be doing very soon. Only complaint is the price; all movies were over 3 euro(I think) for 2 nights. However, if you are a local you can get a months membership for 20 euro and I think it's unlimited. If that's the case, it's a bargain for the selection of films they have. What a treasure...

Madrid has to be one of the best cities for record stores that I have ever been to in Europe, and Bangla Desh is the best record store in the city in my opinion! It is a paradise for Rock on vinyl and has used titles that are very difficult if not impossible to find in the US, including vinyl from the late 80s and 90s. After spending only a couple of hours in the store, I was able to cross some of the rarest albums off of my wish-list. Eric Clapton, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Chris Isaak, Phil Collins, Tears for Fears and Lenny Kravitz were among the artists whose rare vinyl I walked away with. The selection at Bangla Desh is not the largest, but it is quite impressive, especially if you are used to seeing the same things over and over at American record stores like I am. They even have a bunch of used newer albums on vinyl, some of which may also be out of print and rare. The only thing I would say to look out for are bootleg or unofficial pressings of records which are pretty common in Europe. I found what seemed to be an original vinyl copy of Nirvana's "In Utero" pressed in Holland, but the artwork looked a bit odd. After looking it up, I discovered it was in fact an unofficial pressing. Regardless, of the many record stores I visited in Madrid, Bangla Desh definitely stands out!
