He came home with his new charger tried to charge and it didn't work. Walked back immediately another 30 mins to the all in 35°C weather determined to fix his problem and exchange. He was told for a refund he needed an adult. Now he needed an adult? I guess profit has no age, only refund. I left work to go with him, manager refused provide her name and Mario handled her proxy refusing to provide her name or any reference for the staff we dealt with. Though she signed the consumer complaint report, after stating the law in Spain does not protect customers if they opened box. It's probably not cool to say this: but Fnac isn't brilliant. I understand that it's a massive multi-national and it's probably contributing to the demise of small retailers across Europe. But...there's just so much stuff, and it's all in one place. Spread across multiple floors of books, DVDs, comics, music, stationary and electronics, this place was a paradise for me. I could have lived in the little reading area between the books and music section quite happily. Prices are decent enough, roughly in line with the high street. But it's really just a joy to wander around. Located in the bustling Sol shopping district, it's a great spot for gifts for the discerning nerd in your life. read more

Worst customer service possible. I've bought a Huawei Mate 20 Pro in the PRE-Sale offer on the 30th of October. It's 19th of November, so 20 days and 5 complaints later, I still don't know when I will get my phone. When I bought it I was told that in a week I will get it. Each time I went to the store or called Customer Service I hear that they don't know, but they informed somebody about it and in 24 hours I will have an answer. There's nobody that can give me a CLEAR, REAL answer. It's only postponing, buying more time. And I'm always the one getting back. I bought a premium product for a premium price, but the service is so below any acceptable standards. Not even one SMS to say "We apologise, but your phone's delivery was delayed due to....[insert reason here]". We are in the year 2018. Wake up, Fnac, this is not the way you treat your clients! read more

Great place for a wide range of CDs, books, DVDs, and various other bits and bobs. I loved coming here for English language books at stupidly cheap prices; I think I bought Three Men in a Boat for 2 euros or something, which is a bargain. It has several floors and is well laid out, although can get crowded and so can take a while to get through the checkouts. Still, a good place for a homesick Brit. read more

To be honest I generally prefer taking my business to smaller, independent stores, any one of them that specializes in books, music, electronics and the like. And I have little excuse because there are quite a few of these book, music and electronic stores in Madrid. But the fact of the matter is that FNAC in Callao plaza is very convenient. It's right in the middle of one of Madrid's primary shopping hotspots. And, you can kill many birds with one stone, if you like, because you have something like 5 (maybe more) floors of cultural offerings to choose from. Back in the day I used to spend my idle Sunday afternoons drinking coffee in their cafe and perusing their great magazine section (now defunct) and then heading up to the music section to buy myself a new release cd, something classic, more obscure or several cds from their great specially priced cd section (average 7 Eur!!!). And though I miss the cafe and magazines, I still come here to check out their music selection and over the years I've found that it has gotten increasingly better. Some new releases are way too expensive though, even the non-special editions. But, chances are that if you've read somewhere about the latest critically acclaimed release or reissue you're going to find it here. And, if you are willing to wait a few months until the buzz dies down or until the band blows through for a concert, the price of the cd will go down considerably, like 4 or 5 euros. I also like to shop the art book and coffee book and cookbook sections. They do have a nice variety in each. And they have a fantastic selection of English and French language books, classics and bestsellers. Basically, FNAC is a great place to browse and to gift oneself or others. read more
