What stood out most to me was how seen and heard I felt throughout the project. Dawn took the time to really listen and understand what we were hoping to create and she delivered something more beautiful than we imagined. Her landscape design was so stunning that we're actually planning to frame it, it's truly a work of art! It was also so refreshing to work with a woman-owned business in this industry. I never once felt like I was being upsold or talked down to. She made every effort to work within our budget and I felt respected and included every step of the way. You can tell Dawn genuinely cares about both her clients and her team in the way because of the pride and care that show up in every detail of her work. The crew was friendly, professional, and tidy, and the communication from start to finish was excellent. They worked very efficiently and did a beautiful job bringing the design to life. Every question I had was answered promptly and thoughtfully and I always felt in the loop. I can't recommend Rooted Outdoor Living highly enough. They're a small local team doing incredible, honest, and artistic work. It's the kind of business I'm proud to support and tell everyone about!

We ended up framing the drawings she provided because they we so beautiful! Throughout the project we had a few changes and additions and Dawn was surprisingly accommodating. Her crew did a terrific job and were clean and professional in their work. Rooted Outdoor Living was not the cheapest option we explored, but their professionalism and quality of work made the cost absolutely worth it and I would argue represents a good value for what they provide. We are looking forward to enjoying our new outdoor space for many years.

County Wide Landscaping - Brian's design vs what we got.

I stand behind my original review with regard to the paver patio that they installed and the landscaping work they did, it was quality work. I would not hesitate to use them again for paver work but if downspout drainage were involved I would be very careful that expectations are clearly discussed and included in writing. When discussing with Tom (the estimator and foreman) I think I was clear that drainage was an important part of the project for me but I don't think that information was conveyed to Brian. I didn't know much about drainage at the time but I knew I wanted to get water from the downspouts away from the foundation. what they did was install 6" corrugated pipe running from the downspout underground and then back up to the surface and ending with a grate. Because it is solid pipe it forms a sort of trap where there is always water in the pipe. This is a problem because in the summer because of a possible breeding ground for mosquitoes and in the winter time it will freeze solid and there will not be anyplace for the melt water from the roof to drain. After much research on the subject and realizing that what Countywide Landscaping installed was not done properly for winter climates I called Brian to explain my concerns. He basically told me that it was fine, he's never had a problem doing it this way for years and even though I told him I was willing to pay for the work, but hoped for consideration of cost because it wasn't done right the first time, he told me there was nothing he could do so I was on my own to fix the problem. I did fix the problem by digging up the pipe myself where it came to the surface and extending it horizontally so it comes out the side of a slope and will not trap water. Needless to say I didn't have kind thoughts about County Wide as I was digging the trench myself with shovel and pick axe.

My front and back yards were ruined ... he laid a straw blanket with grass seed and nothing took ...I had to spend $2,000 to lay sod because he would not replace it.. had several plants die because they were substandard ..he would not replace them either ... I had to hire a real professional landscaper to come out and redo the entire job .. today it looks fantastic.. if you would like the name and phone number of who I used, please send me a message. Brian did not honor his guarantee... avoid these guys.. the pictures speak volumes.

Our project was straightforward: we needed to relocate a planting bed around our deck and remove…read moresome bushes that were obstructing the installation of a fence gate. The goal was to achieve the right grade so the gate would swing open smoothly. On the opposite side of the house, we had to clear out several hostas to make space for another fence gate. Additionally, we needed to remove some dead and dying bushes near the side of the house and replace them with hardy plants that would last for the next 20 years. After receiving quotes and proposals from several landscape companies, my wife and I were left scratching our heads, feeling that the offers were unrealistic. A recommendation from a trusted friend led us to contact Harvey at Apple Blossom Landscape Concepts. Harvey visited our home, listened carefully to our needs, and offered honest, experience-based advice. He provided a clear plan that matched our requirements perfectly. We promptly signed his formal quotation. Although Apple Blossom wasn't the cheapest option, their professionalism and expertise set them apart. Harvey and his team of four arrived at the job site and, in just four hours, had everything that needed removal loaded up and taken away. They worked diligently to move heavy flagstone, reshape the planting bed to accommodate the new fence gate, and planted several hydrangeas. The following morning, they completed the project by laying down sod. What distinguishes Apple Blossom from other companies is their exceptional customer service. They walked us through each planting site, educated us about soil and moisture, and provided valuable tips on watering and caring for our new plants. They even offered free pruning lessons for the end of winter, ensuring we'd be prepared for the spring bloom season. With future projects in mind, I know exactly who to call. First impressions matter, and if I had a daughter going to her senior prom, I'd trust Apple Blossom to ensure she'd have a perfect experience and have her home on time, just like their impeccable service we received. I live in a community with an HOA (homeowners association) that has a LOT of rules and regs regarding plantings. Harvey was patient and professional as we worked with changes the designs to accommodate all the rules -- those written and those that were implied. Jake and the crew did a terrific job of tearing out the old and planting the new and I love it all! Harvey came back a couple days later and gave me written instructions for care as well as reviewing it all with me personally -- a huge help! You can tell he is not only very knowledgeable about plantings in our area, but is passionate and caring about what he does and how they do it all. I can't wait until next spring when we do the last 2 beds!

All we saw was a bare backyard with a lot of green grass with some weeds. We did have some "wants" on our list which included a natural gas firepit, natural gas line for grill, seating for ~6-8 people, and enough room for entertain with some food, drinks, and a nice place to relax. From the start to the finish, Grant and Power was completely different than the other companies. Other locations just met you outside, what you wanted, and how big. Then we got a quote. However, when I contacted Grant and Powers, they started out with an email with some essential information like their insurance, a pamphlet and other information to get us started. We talked about what we were looking and then waited for our appointment Our appointment was different. Instead of going outside and talking about size... Gene sat us down to talk to us. He wanted to know what we wanted, what we were looking for and what we wanted to spend. We told him about how we were going to use the space and what we wanted and gave him our budget. Afterwards we talked about modern trends and what designs are in/out, how we wanted to place everything. Then off he went with the rest of the team to start designing it after a small down payment. He asked about budget and we talked about how much it might cost, but of course, the final bill could vary depending on the design. A few weeks later, we had another appointment where he showed us the design and it was amazing. They really sat down and listened to what we wanted because it looked amazing. The budget was completely out of our range.. granted, we knew our budget was on the low side of things, but they were willing to work with us to make this affordable. Finally, our day arrived. We got a call the night before that they were arriving in the morning to get started. During the process, the team were good...i would give them a 4.5/5 for a few minor things. They did talk to us a few times but I wish we were updated better. They were good about protecting our lawn even though some areas did suffer. Luckily (For us and them), our backyard had nothing out there. It was just bare land with green-ish grass. From start to finish, they were done in a week. We waited an extra day for another group of guys to show up to set up the firepit and show us how to use it. They were in and out fairly quickly. In the end, we got a beautiful patio. One section to entertain/eat. The other area is for the firepit and grill. Due to the design, they both feel separate from each other. We did find some minor damages that the team did not let me know or Gene. But he is going out of his way to making it right and I appreciate it. Ive had some neighbors stop by to marvel at the patio. Overall, if I were to ever move away, I would go back to this company to design a beautiful space again. I would completely recommend this company if you are looking for the same.
