I asked them what's up with this $100 dollar for 4 drinks?!?!? and he said and showed an inflated bill of scribble = $70 was a "service charge". WTF? The old bait and switch scam. Be up front!!! and say it will be a show that costs $100 dollars for 4 drinks. Many users on Yelp complain about this place. If it were in the US, I would call the Better Business Bureau.

I wish I had an English tour guide. Luckily, most of the displays were in both english and spanish. The front desk said they didn't have an English guide. Unsure if she meant for that day, or just period. But I saw many groups of guided tours with multi different languages throughout the museum, which was cool. Per her recommendation, I visited: - #4 Teotihuacan (AD 100-700) exhibit -#6 Mexica (AD 1200- 1521) exhibit - #9 Maya exhibit Then I stopped to see -#7 Oxaca If I come back, I would def return. There are also several park benches but not as many as some other parks. There is also a dog park area, that includes two enclosed sections. There were probably ten dogs there with their owners, and luckily I didn't witness any dog fights. Nevertheless, when I came there, there were dogs dogs everywhere in the park. The skaters area is also a park highlight. There were actually more skaters in that area, than there were other people in the park. The entire park is clean and they do a great job of maintaining it.

In my book, Central Park in New York City will always be the best park I've ever seen in a major…read morecity. Then I went to Bosque De Chapultepec and was just blown away from the pure size. You can fit about 2.5 Central Parks into this park. It's incredible. It's truly a place that anyone who visits Mexico City must put on their agenda. Some of the cool things about this park. They have my favorite attraction in the city-the famous Museum Of Anthropology in the park. They also have the famous castle that is filled with so much great works of art and historical artifacts. They host many concerts in this park. They also have a huge Ferris Wheel that you can see from miles. There is a big lake in the center of the park. The park is also home to a huge city zoo. The way we came in the park there was also a massive collection of street vendors selling just about anything your heart desires. The park truly is an epicenter for the city and I'd imagine means the world to the local residents of Mexico City. These are just some of the reasons I would 100% recommend visiting the amazing Bosque De Chapultepec. It's absolutely massive, incredibly diverse, and there's enough to see and do here that you could easily spend an entire day exploring it.

It did look ginormous on the map! For us, it was a cut through to get to another destination. But I'm glad to have been able to look at the greenery and flowers here. It was a well maintained and clean park. There were plenty of people jogging, taking pictures, and moseying around. I think at some parts of the park, the streets were lined with food and souvenir vendors.

There are a bunch of shops and places to eat, people will try to sell you things and convince you to join a boat tour. The canals get so crowded because of the amount of boats that there is huge traffic. Our guide mentioned sometimes there is a standstill because of this. Once you're on the boat, people will try and sell you drinks, food, souvenirs and mariachis will ask if you would like live music. You can stop at touristy things like seeing axolotl and reptiles. Definitely some tourist traps, but it's worth it haha. I paid extra to hold some snakes and got some cute souvenirs, which were a reasonable price. Book an organized tour if you can !

My partner and I wanted to visit the canals of Xochimilco…read more If you don't read the rest, know that this is the legit embarcadero of to go for trajineras and touring the canals of Xochimilco when visiting Mexico City. It's the same one they visited on a former season of Amazing Race! We knew it was going to take an Uber ride (~$9USD) and ~45 minutes to get there. What we didn't know is there are guys on bicycles that will try to con your driver into taking you to an alternative boat landing where they, according to travel blogs, either rob you or charge you more. Thankfully I speak Spanish and could understand what was going on. While I considered listening, I quickly Googled what was being said--the road is shut down and there's an alternative and better embarcadero that can be accessed by taking a different route--and learned that it wasn't legit. I was able to reassure our driver to follow the Uber/map instructions and also tell the guy on the bike off. He still persisted and followed us for a few miles until we took the final turn on the road to Embarcadero Nativitas. Anyway, the boats are well-kept, the time out in the canals was as long/longer than we paid for, and the prices were very fair (and negotiable). The whole place is the same company so any of the people that approach you about boats are there for the same place. We brought our own beers and took a two-hour ride and it was so nice. You can also buy food and drinks from vendors on the water. And you can bring a portable speaker/play music, too. We legit had the best time taking in the whole experience. You can stop along the way to use restrooms (highly recommend clocking them on your way out so you know where they are on your way back in and don't pee your pants). Don't forget to bring some coins along to pay the bathroom fee, too.

Wonderful park and playground…read more We went to Mexico City last week with our 6 year old son. We walked here to Parque Lincoln for our son to blow off some steam. It's a big park, with several cool things to see. There's a huge playground that was filled with families, inside the playground is a clean pay bathroom. There's a small, cheap, but lovely aviary. We saw so many pretty and cool birds! The Aviary was $8Pesos per person, or about $2US total for the 3 of us. It is remarkable how much better things can be cheaply and easily with warmer weather. There's a fountain/pond area, and there were remote control boats for rent the first day we went (but we didn't have any Pesos yet, so we didn't get to do it).

I couldn't recommend Nomada Mexico highly enough…read more I was planning this a year out - to hike Volcán Iztaccihuatl with my 15 year old son. During the planning, Misha was always patient and helpful, always replying to my (I'm sure endless) requests for information and guidance. His counsel on altitude acclimation was pivotal to our happy hiking. When we got to CDMX, our guide was Mauricio. Together we hiked Monte Tlaloc and Volcán Iztaccihuatl. Both treks he collected us on time, and drove us to and from the locations. We chatted easily like old friends as we spent the best part of three days together. Mauricio balanced his care for our health with the challenge and excitement of the hikes. We summited Tlaloc, but didn't summit Izta. We hiked in 5k in the morning dark, and our 5k in the brilliant sunshine after dawn. Without a doubt - the toughest and most rewarding hike I've ever done. We (my son and I) are eager to return to summit Izta, and of course - we'll be doing it with Nomada.

After many trips to Mexico City, a friend told me about the Tolantongo Hot Springs. I began by…read moreresearching: #1 - Could the trip be done adequately in a day? #2 - Could I drive myself or hire a driver to save money? #3 - If going with a tour company, which was the best option? Here are my findings. Yes, the trip can be done in a day. I was staying in the Condesa and we got a very early start at 6am. It took 4 hours to arrive to Tolantongo. The route becomes confusing and I would not recommend driving yourself. A reputable private driver was actually going to cost MORE than the tour offered by Nomada. Of all the tour companies, I felt most comfortable with Misha at Nomada. She was quick to respond via email and WhatsApp and answered all of my questions. There was no - paying up-front via a web site. Everything about Nomada was professional and appreciated. My expectation was that David (my driver) was going to take me to Tolantongo and that I would explore and then return to the car. I was so happy when we arrived and he was getting geared up. He took me on the most amazing tour of the falls. He knew where the "Hidden Gems" were located. Because of his experience - my day was perfect. I 100% feel that I saw EVERYTHING and could not have done it better. Quick Advice: 1) Bring Sturdy Water Shoes (if you do not have any - there are many road side vendors that sell them on your way to the falls) 2) Don't bring lots of stuff with you into the falls. You just need yourself, and a waterproof camera or water protector for phone. (Side Note - I had a faulty protector for my phone - which filled up with water - I was so bummed thinking that my phone was destroyed. I can confirm that the iPhone X is WATER PROOF) I would still recommend to have the protector so that you can put around your neck. 3) There are lots of steps and places that require physical ability. You can certainly take a relaxing trip - but you will not see the 'hidden gems'. 4) MOST IMPORTANT - make sure to visit on a weekday. I went on a Friday and it was perfect. David (my tour guide) told me how the park fills up on weekends. After a long drive - I would be super annoyed to be in nature and to have lots of people around me and then all of the traffic to come home. I hope this helps!! Viva #NomadaMexico
