We noticed Escape Hunt on the top floor of the Westgate mall when everything else was closed on Easter Sunday. They still had place and we booked Alice in Puzzleland. It was very enjoyable. Both challenging and fun. read more

I quite liked that you can start with those to mentally get ready while you wait. The person who worked there was very nice and answered all our questions with a smile. He introduced us to the game in which we would be finding the Holy Grail by solving puzzles set up by 'Da Vinci' himself. The puzzles were really inventive and I won't spoil it, but one moment in the game feels like magic. I have done a bunch of the escape games in London, but the challenges in this one felt fresh and fun and there was some real originality. I found the room challenges to be fairly straightforward and clear and the Da Vinci theme was well-done. We only asked for one hint and finished with 11 minutes to spare, so I think the difficulty level was perfect for us. I particularly liked the physical games just because they were quite fun, but all of them were good and there was a fair amount of all types of puzzles. Love Popups London gave me the opportunity to try this game and I definitely got lucky, it was one of the best in London that I have tried! The production values were excellent and the problems were varied and fun to solve. I would definitely recommend this game!

Now, I am fully…read moreaware that that could sound like some peoples personal hell, but I totally dug my escape rooms experience.... I had first heard about Escape Rooms after two of my Elites had visited one on their honeymoon in the US. I was actually clueless about the whole thing before they had explained it's kinda like your own little detective experience with a goal of figuring out a mystery and getting out within a certain time. I don't know about you, but after years of watching Castle, CSI, Elementary and Jonathan Creek - I fancy myself a little bit of an expert when it comes to sleuthing and I fancied my chances at having a go at figuring out a mystery myself. I got a top notch team together (me, Dan, Lucy, her partner Dan and Mike) and off we set to solve a mystery and escape. First thing to note is that if you're not 100% familiar with the Jewellery Quarter, it might be a little tough to find. As a guide, head to St Paul's Square, follow the path towards the arches (heading past Anderson's and Oliver James Salon), cross the road, head under the arch and it's situated on Henrietta Street (to your right hand side). If you're coming in from Constitution, take the road opposite the Hen and Chickens to your left. I have uploaded a photo for recognition purposes. We had booked online (highly recommended as this place gets busy) and we were greeted by the lovely Jordan who explained the rules to us. You get 60 minutes to get yourself out and are handed a radio to ask for clues if you need them (you can have up to 6 clues). We had opted for the "Dr Wilson's Office" room (rather than the horror themed scenario - "Room 13") and after a brief explanation about instructions, got locked in and told to have fun. Now, I'm not going to spoil the experience for you... but be prepared to use all your noggin to figure this one out. The rules are clear and it's lots of fun, but you will need to use some of the clues to escape (unless you're some kind of genius). Our team managed to escape with 7:33 left on the clock and only 3 clues used. The best record ever was a team who had tried many escape rooms all over the world and only used 2 clues and had 18 minutes to spare. I loved this intense, immersive experience. I would recommend getting a team together (a team of 5 is £70 - so £14 each) and giving it a go as something different to do on an evening and weekend. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we're going back to try out Room 13. Stay tuned to see if we manage to get that one!

We did a few games, and overall had a good time, but there are a few buts that spoil experience a bit. 1)For example - our first game was great, however, they didn't take our picture at the end of the game which they should put on Facebook ( they did on the next game, but then forgot about it next time. 2)During the second game, in one of the rooms, it was impossible to distinguish colours in one of the rooms - we could distinguish them only as game master opened the exit door from outside, so the colours got distinguishable in the day light. Serious design flaw imo. 3) Each room is advertised for up to 8 ppl. We were 4, and constantly stepping on each other's toes, as the room was quite small. One more person, and it would be very uncomfortable. When we finished the game, nobody met us outside, again, no picture offered. 4) During our 4th game, game master told us how many rooms there in total straight away (I would prefer it to be a surprise). One of the solutions was straight here, cause they forgot to put it where it should be, and the clock that were supposed to show how much time left were showing god knows what, so we didn't really know how much time we had left.

We tried 3 different "games", first we were transported into a different world and walked around in the magical place to get our VR legs. The graphics were amazing, I felt like I'd jumped into the TV! The venue has a huge free roam space so there is plenty of room for you and your group to explore the way of the land! After this, we went to play arcade style games, where we had hand controllers and you had to score points by playing the game on the screen. I was rubbish at this, so it didn't hold my attention long as I sulked! Another arcade style game they had was where you were on a check out and had to try and pick up guns and particular items to score points. Finally, my favourite game of the night was the Zombie Survival, where we were kitted up with our VR headsets and outfits and given our "guns" to hunt down some zombies. It is mad how realistic it is! You literally feel like you're in a computer game! You can change your weapon and score points when you shoot the zombies. Everyone's hits are scored and you can see them at the front after you've played to see which person in your group shot the most hits. It was brilliant! I had so much fun! There is so much space to move around, it is incredible. All the staff are really friendly and you get a full briefing before every game so you know how it all works. It isn't just for gamers either. Anyone with a competitive streak will enjoy it! Males and females alike. It is great to do with a group of friends for a hen/stag party or for a birthday or work do. I would definitely return! I honestly didn't even know this sort of thing existed in London! It is now something else new that I can say I've tried!
