They came in the house, hopped on the roof and snaked "all the way to the city sewer." They did no diagnosis. Never looked at the functioning toilet, shower, laundry room, etc. They said that it would be the city's fault if it backed up again and even wrote that I should call them in regard to that bill or the city if and when it happened again. (With them knowing that it would because they didn't fix it) I wanted an answer not a temp fix. I called them this morning only a few weeks after they came out. They tried to tell me I just needed to pay them $260 on a monthly basis to snake my drain. They said it was only a 20% chance it was a city issue and 80% my pipes. (When in all actuality there was a ZERO percent chance it was city because half of the house was still working fine) C'mon! Why would you have even suggested it would be completely their fault in the first place and then go back on that? They tried to tell me that I would need to replace the whole thing and it would be 7 or 8k. (Even though most of my house was fully functioning) The proper thing for someone to do when they don't actually fix an issue is to try and resolve it. All other plumbers told me they should have come out to snake it a second time also to at least clear the passageway. They refused saying that, my backed up drain isn't their problem. Actually Sherlock, that is what I paid you for- to clear the backup not snake it and walk away with hundreds of my dollars! They knew it was a temp fix, I wouldn't send my WORST ENEMY to these people.

That was going to be $2000 - "but I might as well replace the whole unit" - which would be $5000-$6000. Okay, fine - but I need to get a few competing bits (and have someone else give me a second opinion). So I came here - Yelp - to look for a couple companies to call. I looked for 5 star reviews and John's was one of them. He had great reviews and just from talking to him on the phone I could tell he knew what he was doing and he could drop by later the same day. He looked it over and said the only problem was the drain pan was filled with sludge blocking the drain - $350 to clean the pan and the coils. WHAT?!! Sure - let's do that! We made an appointment for the next day. He came by on time, cleaned the unit with minimal fuss or mess and that was that - $350 the unit is no longer leaking. It is no exaggeration to say John saved me between $1600 for unnecessary parts or $4600 for a new AC unit. On top of that, he also noticed my water heater under the A/C handler had been wired wrong and fixed that too. I highly recommend John Pro Services - he's knowledgable, professional, honest, cleaned up after the job and didn't try to upsell me on something I didn't need.
