I purchased a pickup from Ernst Auto. Vehicle was listed with options on the website that were not on the vehicle. I liked this pickup that was listed on their website. It was a trade in and was not on the lot yet. I requested they call me when it arrived. In order for that to happen, I HAD to put a $500 down deposit on the vehicle. Once there, I spent an hour looking over the vehicle and checking options during my test drive. Inside, while sitting at the salesman's desk (Marc) I stated, oh I forgot to check the backup camera. This was one of three options I had to have. It was pointed out to me that the ad for the pickup listed backup camera so it was an option for this vehicle. I was shown the website ad at the saleman's desk. My fault, I trusted the Ernst Team and did not go outside to check. We spent three hours with the the test drive, reviewing options, and signing paperwork. While test driving the vehicle, I had seen a tire was low on the lot but was assured by the Ernst sales team the tire appeared low due to the slight angle the vehicle was sitting. Once I got home, the next day the low tire pressure light came on. The tire was visibly low. I discovered one of the tires had an air leak and had to be repaired. I didn't want to drive 1.5 hours one way for a $20 tire fix. This was a disappointment as the vehicle had sat on the Ernst lot for several days (held on my deposit) and would have been noticable as quickly as the tire lost air overnight. So immediately, I had the tire fixed. The vehicle did NOT have a backup camera. The ad had been taken off of the website due to me purchasing the vehicle so I do not have it to share here. I contacted Ernst saying there was a problem. I drove 1.5 hours one way to Columbus as I was still under the 30 day satisfaction guarantee. The sales team looked up the archived ad and agreed the vehicle was listed with a back up camera option. They also agreed it did not have that option. I was advised the fine print of the website states mistakes could be made. The salesman remembered me asking about the backup camera at his desk. Knowing this was one of my three required options, we discussed the satisfaction guarantee. I could not have a refund of the vehicle but could trade for a similiar option. There was not another GMC product, 1/2 ton with mileage within 10,000 of what I purchased at the same price point. Therefore, the satisfaction guarantee was not applicable. I asked Ernst how much it would cost to have them install a backup camera. They informed me that is not an option at their store, but I could go have an after market camera installed on my own. I am extremely dissatisfied that the vehicle was misrepresented and Ernst did not take actions to correct it. I do give them credit for admitting the ad was incorrect and the sales team acknowledging that I had asked about the option on the vehicle and was mis-informed. I also acknowledge that people make mistakes and it was my responsibility to review options on the sales ad. However, I do not trust the sales manager Tobin and will not be purchasing any other vehicles from Ernst. read more

IF I COULD GIVE YOU CLOWNS LESS THAN 1 STAR I WOULD! A very kind team nothing against most of the team. However, extremely incompetent and disorganized. Lazy. My mother went to Ernst to get some rattling fixed and they had spent an hour "Fixing" the issue and it persisted. I went to fix it myself and found A ZIP TIE on my chassis! I set an appointment to get struts put in on my vehicle, this is obviously something that takes time. But I scheduled my install for 7:30 and they took it at 7:30 and didn't decide to start until 9:00! They told me installation would take a few hours, I ended up waiting two hours longer, and the service team as well as my rep (Micek) didn't answer any calls for three hours, which is whatever, but it would be nice to know. These guys are jokers. I'll never go to ernst again unless I need my oil changed. I would hardly trust them with that. read more

Best car buying experience! We were treated like family and the staff were friendly and helpful. They even stayed two hours after they closed just to get us in the right vehicle. I bought my 2008 Ford F250 from Ernst in December of 2018. It was serviced by their service area before I bought it. I don't drive it except to tow my 14000lb camper. I finally reached 3000 mile and decided to service the truck myself. I got under the truck dropped the oil plug and went to change the oil filter and it was way smaller (half the size at most) than my new one (Mobile 1 extended performance). It was a AC Delco PF48E (for a GMC/Chevy). AC Delco 1250 is the correct one it should of had on it. With that size restriction on the filter if I would of put a load on my engine while towing my camper that filter would of restricted enough oil for my engine to fail. Then I and anyone with me would of been stranded. I can guarantee I will never buy or have work done at Ernst. read more

Worse place to take your vehicle to get fixed. Literally took my vehicle for one thing and ended up staying there for the longest time and an outstanding price they charged. Got home and had multiple issues with my vehicle, but I rather take my vehicle to fix any place else than there even if I have to drive an hour away!! read more

I bought a 2008 Chevy Colorado from the Columbus Nebraska Ernst dealership about November 1st of 2018. When I took the truck in for an oil change a couple of months later the local service shop said the brakes needed replacing and the battery tested low. The bill was just over $1100.00. I Called the Ernst dealership where I bought it thinking those brakes should have not needed replacing to soon. After 5 attempts to get ahold of the service manager I was told the best he could do was to give me a 10% discount/return. He did send me a check in the mail for just over $100.00. A few of months later I had to get the fuel pump and the lock ring replaced. That was $980.15. It was about this time I realized the tail gate would not open. I decided not to get it fixed. On or about December 1st 2019 the "low power" light kept coming on. During this time the truck would not go past about 30 MPH. I was lucky not to get stranded in a snowstorm coming home on the hills north of Schuyler. The local service shop explained the problem and stated that it would cost about $700.00 to get it fixed. They also said an oil level could not be detected and that the bottom of the truck was rusted out. This latest repair would bring the total repair work on the truck to about $2800.00 not counting oil changes in a year. I ended up buying another truck I know had been taken care of from the local service shop not wanting to drain more money on the Ernst Chevy I had bought. They were reluctant to give me much for the Ernst Chevy in question knowing the problems I had had. I got $300.00 trade in. I know buying used vehicles have some risk but any way you look at it Ernst has set me back several thousands of dollars. read more

Very sad. Yesterday we came in to look/buy a pick up. Actually looking for 2 pickups. And they had only one that met our standards of what we're looking for. They couldn't tell us nothing about it. Couldn't show us a picture or price. Due to it just came in and was getting detailed for sale. And he said he will call us tomorrow so we can come back down and look at it. After we got home we googled it on their website and it was on the website but apparently the guy could not pull it up on the website as were standing there. But needless to say he never called us back the next day. So we called him about 3 o'clock and asked if it was ready for us to see. And he told us that "he was too busy scooping snow""what !!! Really !! I guess he didn't want to sale a pickup today. So we bought from another dealership. read more

We bought a vehicle from Ernst Auto. I thought the salesman was a little pushy; my husband didn't think so. That wasn't the problem though. It took TWO months to get the title so we could license it. The whole second month I contacted the title department at least once a week to check on the title. I think they would've waited longer, or not even TRIED to get the title had I not been bugging them. I should not have to ask someone to do their job; they should've had the title in the 30 days. IF we buy another vehicle here, I will ask to the see the paper copy of the title. Highly recommend asking to see the title before signing anything here! read more

We will never do business with Ernst Auto Center again. If there was anyway I could have I would have not even given them one star. They have the worst customer service that I have ever dealt with and do not back up the product that they sell. Mitch and his supervisor are 2 of the rudest customer service people I have ever had to deal with. The first time the service dept lied to us they was in regards to the brakes on a vehicle we had bought from them. They did not even look at us and when we took the vehicle to another repair center we found out that it was a very simple fix, unlike what Ernst tried to tell us what it was. The second issue we had with them was they did not back up the product that they sold us. We purchased a brand new vehicle not a used one from them. The battery went bad and states on the battery that it has a 6 year warranty however when we contacted Ernst Mitch in the repair dept. would do nothing to assist us, would only say that the vehicle had a 3 month/ 3 year warranty on it. He did not even look up any info on our account or anything about the vehicle. The last thing he said was" it has a 36 month/ 3 year warranty, have a nice day" and then hung up. The next day when I called to find out why he was so rude he proceeded to be rude to me again and told me, after I told him what horrible customer service skills he has, that I had horrible customer service skills. REALLY!!!!! I am the customer!!! Then when his supervisor came on the phone he was just as rude and just kept repeating the same thing over and over and would do absolutely nothing to help with the problem. He also proceeded to tell me that I had horrible customer service skills. If I treated customers the way these 2 people did where I work we would not have any customers. We will never purchase a vehicle from them again due to this happening. They are nice to you when buying something but then once you have purchased the item they do not back up the product. I am going to put this review on every place I possibly can. No customer should ever be treated the way that we were treated. Service department at Ernst is crooked they tried to charge me for repairs I didn't need and for repairs they didn't do.

The sales person sold my vehicle before I test drove another vehicle. They lied about how long it would take to fix my vehicle. I took my Equinox in for a service job. When I took it out, it had no power, so I took it back. 8 days and 3 courtesy cars later they finally determined that my motor was gone. They told me it would take a week and a half, two weeks or longer for the extended warranty people and their insurance to determine whether to put in a new motor or a rebuilt motor. I was very frustrated, because I had to cancel appointments so that I could return the courtesy cars every 3 days (50 miles round trip). I asked to look at the used car inventory. I didn't find anything I liked, but decided to test drive a vehicle the next day. Before I test drove, the vehicle I removed things from my Equinox which was still parked in a service bay. Frustrated, I asked to see what they could do for me if I bought the vehicle. They knew I was frustrated and they pressured me to buy a different vehicle saying it would be a least 1 1/2-2 or longer weeks before I would get my vehicle back, no guarantee that it wouldn't be a rebuilt vehicle, and I would have to drive the 60 mile round trip every 3 days to return the courtesy vehicles. Within 3 days, my old vehicle (with a new motor) was in someone else's garage. I talked to the lady and she told me they guaranteed her a new motor. What really made me mad was that she looked at my vehicle BEFORE I test drove another vehicle. She told me what I took out of my vehicle before I test drove. Which means the salesperson (same one) showed (and sold) her my vehicle before I even test drove. I talked to the sales and office managers twice about this without apologies (I am sorry you feel this way). They told me that maybe she came at night and looked in the window-seriously!!!!! No wonder they pressured me into buying a vehicle when they already had my vehicle sold. As a woman senior citizen I feel I was taken advantage of for the sake of a sale. If I could give less than one star, I would. Took our Yukon in for a scheduled 1PM appointment to get the tires rotated and balanced, an alignment and an oil change. THREE HOURS LATER, finally get a phone call telling us we need over $3500 dollars worth of work done (new tires - even though these only had 40,000 miles on them over 2.5 years, new front and rear brakes and rotors, new front and rear shocks) and nothing had been done yet to the vehicle other than the oil change. I had told them when we dropped off the vehicle that we would be leaving in the morning for a 14 hour trip. I reiterated that we just need the items done that we scheduled, and they were insisting that we get new tires before the other work could be done. I told them just to at least rotate and balance the tires so that we can take it on the road without the wobble on the interstate and then we'd take care of the rest when we got back. She said she would talk to the mechanic. FOURTY-FIVE MINUTES LATER she calls to say that they don't have time before closing to get that done. SOOOO, we paid $85 for an oil change that we could have done at home and an inspection we never asked for and NO SERVICES TO OUR TIRES! What a joke and a runaround. I'm so angry that we are now heading to Tennessee with the exact same car we took in. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Stop trying to sell me stuff I didn't ask for, and at least take care of the things I ORDERED. read more
