She has SO, SO many options and she's open to doing whatever you want. I loved that there were lots of fun choices in her menus, and I'm proud to say (although my mom probably is not) that my wedding reception featured mini cheeseburgers, mini pizzas, and mac-n-cheese bites, along with choc-dipped strawberries, thai peanut chicken, and a to-DIE-for hot artichoke dip. It's amazing. I think her prices have gone up a tad since my wedding, but for $10 a person (for 300 people), I got like 8 or 9 items, plus my wedding cake and groom's cake. (I think it's more like $12-13 now but STILL. Those are GOOD prices.) You could sub a wedding cake for like a carving station, and that was a no-brainer for me, because do you know how much a wedding cake costs? Upwards of $500 for a non-embarrassing one that will not end up on cakewrecks.blogspot.com. The fun, nontraditional food was a HUGE hit, but she has tons of traditional items as well. Oh, AND, she provided bartenders (for a fee) and I just purchased the alcohol myself. That alone probably saved me $5000. You have to provide some of your own stuff, like ice, napkins, glasses...I think that's it. But it was so worth it to me. One flavor of her wedding cake I really, really recommend...white chocolate cake with strawberry filling. SO good. And I refuse to acknowledge the existence of white chocolate most of the time. Anyway, book Catherine EARLY. She should be the first thing you book after you set your date and get a venue (since some venues require certain caterers or in-house caterers).

Magnolia Manor & Chapel, owned and operated by Lee and Lyne Sands, is one of those magnificent places. Lee and Lyne bought this old church and turned it into, not just overnight lodging, but a real event venue. The rooms where you stay are so charming and are each decorated individually and made inviting, warm and comfortable. Our room included absolutely everything we would need for a stay. We felt very spoiled. From the comfortable bed, cozy bathrooms and extra blankets, to the delicious cookie and the nighttime chocolates, it was a real winner. But, more wonderful things had yet to come. Our stay included breakfast. We weren't expecting anything big. The evening before Lee and Lyne asked us if we had any food allergies. Well my husband needs egg whites and I'm gluten intolerant. When we walked down the stairs into the dining room, it blew our minds. It was decorated so delightfully, and again so very invitingly. I loved the tablecloth and napkins at each place setting. We smelled something good cooking, but weren't sure what it would be. Oh my gosh, our drinks arrived along with a little appetizer plate of french toast sticks. When I found out they were gluten-free I was in seventh heaven. Next came the glass of enticing mixed fruit. We then enjoyed scrambled eggs (and yes, my husband had egg whites), bacon, and the most delicious hash brown casserole I've ever had. Now that, is A BREAKFAST. They serve lunch and offer brunch on Saturday & Sunday We also found out they have a building in the back with a beautiful patio to listen to different bands while you have drinks and light food. Right now I believe it operates on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. They also have the most splendidly redone chapel. Wonderful place to have a small wedding or celebration. All in all, we will definitely be back and I highly recommend it to anyone traveling through that area. It's not far off the highway between Memphis and Nashville.

For breakfast Thursday they served, coffee, granola, yogurt, muffins and fresh fruit. The spread was awesome. For lunch they had salad, grilled chicken, delicious lasagna, soft rolls, peach cobbler and chocolate cake. They also served snacks at designated times. Friday for breakfast they provided fresh doughnuts and fruit salad mixed with a creamy sauce, coffee and water. Lunch was a cool taco bar with all the fixins. Chicken, ground beef, lettuce, tomato, cheese, tortillas, chips, sour cream, and salsa were available. Tea and water were the beverages. Once again there was a large chocolate cake and peach cobbler. The food was hot and quite tasty! It was so good I could have taken a short nap! If I ever get the chance to eat there again, I will!
