Ryan Wilbanks is far and away the best. If you want your kids to learn discipline and respect, this is your guy. I feel confident he is teaching my kids real skills and not just making it up as he goes. Some of his practices are unorthodox but they obviously work. My daughter and I go to Eric Nolan's Xtreme Training Center. We started almost three years ago with zero knowledge and zero experience in martial arts and this place definitely helped us learn at our level and made us feel welcome. All the coaches and staff are awesome! Erica, coach Ryan, coach Phil, coach Jesse and the rest of the team have been very encouraging throughout my journey in this sport and have really helped me believe that I can actually get good at this as long as I continue to show up. They always pump me up. I am close to 40 years young so this experience has been very challenging but yet rewarding for me. It has helped me grow mentally, physically, and emotionally and it has done the same for my daughter. My daughter recently transitioned from Muay Thai to Jiujitsu and she loves it. This business is not handling the pandemic well at all!! My son and I enjoyed the classes for about a year, spent about 140/month even tho we only made it once a week at most, the kick boxing class for me was fun, but they really weren't very family friendly when it came to the kids, my son was left out a couple times because they moved the class around and didn't say anything. Then covid happened and we had to move and now this business is doing what they can to keep charging me the monthly membership even tho the contract states you can break it in the event of a move. Telling me I have to show them a new drivers license when the dmv is closed/backed up for months and I can't even afford to purchase a new license in the first place!!! I called the gym to speak to them and all I got was an earful of how "Governor Gruesome" was a pain in their butts for shutting down the gym. Ok. Then they give me the run around as they are still charging me and when my credit card finally maxed out the billing company starts emailing me every day... I have told them over and over I moved out of state, sent pics of mail, my sons school address, anything to keep from getting charged or having to go the driver license route but no..... now the excuse is that I can't cancel the account, I am still being charged the monthly fee because I didn't pay for the months we moved away. So be careful signing a contract with this place! They will do whatever they can to rape your wallet! They are now adding additional charges! You don't only work on the bag but, there are days were they will include weights which I totally love. I would definitely recommend going here. Also, Iris Eric Nolan's spouse is the bomb!! I've been attending their Muay Thai class for two weeks now and I can confirm I am already noticing myself getting much more fit. With the in depth technique critiques while we practice from the coaches I have already learned so much about the form of striking and when to use certain moves in specific situations. Signing up was simple and they even gave me all the gear I needed as a sign on bonus (minus shin guards). The times they have for classes are extremely flexible fitting most schedules. I have fun, I am getting fit, and of course it always feels good to hit stuff at the end of a long day. read more

This seems like a nice family gym, but they're just like every other money-gouging gym. During the pandemic they stopped payments and said they would add free months to your membership while they were closed. What they didn't tell you is that they will also charge you for extra months after the pandemic. I received no additional months of membership as stated. I tried to cancel my membership several times since March, as I was moving. I had already moved before I could get in contact with them. I sent several photos of my ID and proof of address as requested and they still wouldn't cancel my membership. They said I needed to pay a fee which I understood. They said I had not paid this fee, yet they took that same amount out of my bank 3 more times?The company that handles their contracts is no better. Terrible customer service they hung up on me after I waited on hold for an hour to speak with the representative. My membership contract had ended several months ago and they continued to charge me and refused to cancel my membership or refund additional payments after I gave the appropriate documentation MULTIPLE TIMES. Impossible to speak with them over the phone because of the noise, but email takes sometimes weeks for a response. read more

Great place to learn self defense. Eric Nolan and his coaches are professional, patient and professional. Kids classes are great. They teach fitness, discipline, self defense and respect to the children. Adults do Xtreme Kickboxing. Iris is amazing!! If you're looking to loose weight and stay fit, this class is for you. Muay Thai is very addicting, this class is for self defense as well as Jiu Jitsu and MMA. Gym is super clean and they follow all Covid19 regulations. Not a very helpful gym especially during the pandemic. Still want to charge they don't allow to freeze your account instead they add more months to the contract for the months they were closed. I will not take my boys there any longer until this passes they seem to care more about their pockets rather than the customer's circumstances. Earlier last year I became pregnant and on disability and my husband lost his job they did not care mind you we pay $150 a month, when it comes to choosing on paying which bills this is a no brainer not a priority at this point. Think twice about signing up with them! And the same the receptionist only goes off on how the governor has affected them and blah blah instead of finding a solution to help. read more

Great gym! I trained with Eric years ago in the early 90's and now live and train muay Thai in Los Angeles. I was gonna be in Bakersfield so I called Coach Eric and asked if I could do a drop in to which he said yes. Erics gym is super nice with a huge weight room and lots of gear for training. All of the students were friendly and Erics son was coaching the class. Its said that you can judge a tree by its fruit and Erics son was an excellent coach with a good fight IQ just like his dad and a nice guy. Very impressive place and highly recommend to anybody looking to train in a real and effective combat sport. If you've never trained before it will be difficult for the first year but you will soon adapt and grow. Do it! Thank you Eric, I will come by again next time im in town. read more

They think it's smart marketing to keep their prices, membership options, and ability to sign up for a class online a secret unless you fill out a contact card so they can call you. I don't want to give them my information unless I am members because then I'll get a bunch of junk calls or emails. However I did. One star for prompt callback but I was unable to answer because it was right in the middle of dinner with family. I tried to go to a class all week but since their website is so sparse I didn't know if I could just show up to sign up. Everyday I called about thirty minutes before the class that I wanted to attend but no one answers the phone and there's no option to sign up online. Very annoying. read more

I got a fantastic workout, Eric and Iris are super kind and generous, and I'm recommending this gym to the people I know in Bakersfield. I love this place! I first called for information and spoke to Eric. Very professional and kind! He was very patient with all of the questions I had to ask. He took the time and sent me everything we spoke about in an e mail for me also. I brought my boys in for the free class to try out. My boys love it! They look forward to going. The lady at the front desk was so nice and kind also she explained everything I needed to know also and got us all set with the equipment my boys would need. We have been there a few times now and I am so impressed! They have a good size group of kids and yet they still take the time one on one with my boys when they need it!
