If I thought it was a joke of a visit with a joke of a provider, what I read only infuriated me more. I was given four diagnoses, none of which was discussed with me--and one of them could lead to serious health issues if left untreated. The newbie provider rushed through my visit, using clinical jargon I guess she thought I understood--she explained nothing, and was impatient when I did ask for some clarification. She prescribed me a huge tub of a medication that I researched and found out is not to be used long term. As I was leaving the exam room, I find her casually sitting in a chair talking to a co-worker--when she could give me nothing of time and attention to my being there, except for the 15 minutes allotted by insurance. I am beyond incensed by what is comparable to negligence on her part.

My first intake was with Melanie and at first I seemed really happy with my consultation, even if it was not very thorough. I felt like she was adiment about getting me treatment and fixing me! thank god! finally!! I was wrong. A month later and I am still waiting on a PA for medicine to be covered by insurance because i cannot pay for the 700$ ones they kept prescribing. I even went as far as to email medicines that i KNEW my insurance covered. Still with no prevail or a PA from Melanie, I decided to reschedule with Tabor to see if he could help me. Finally after a month and a half, Thanks to Tabor, I am able to get antibiotics to help but still not topical gel or anything to help my acne from the outside. The ladies at the front gave me another sample: ONLY TO FIND OUT THIS COUNTED AS MY PRESCRIPTION. (the sample was the size of my pinky toe). With still no treatment or really any idea of what is going on I continued to call to see if there was anything I could do or what I was waiting on, because i was unfamiliar with the process. Madison and Mallory were extremely helpful and kind. 2 months later, my follow up appointment is SUPPOSED TO BE TODAY!!! But then i got a termination letter in the mail-still no treatment that is not 700$+ and both providers at Northshore Derm are refusing to treat me and did not provide an alternate list of providers or anything. I understand their perspective, as they are just an office that is complying with their providers, but I truly think it is patient abandonment and a form of malpractice. I have a worsening condition and was pleading and begging for help. Only to be turned away. Just wait the month or two waiting time for Hilton, or any other office- you will most likely have to wait regardless, so I would at least recommend waiting on a provider that will actually treat and be professional with their patients! I have never felt so abandoned or mistreated.

He continued to zap the lesion on a yearly basis with no further inquiry. Because I was unsatisfied with his total body check for skin carcinoma, I chose to find another dermatologist. The Legion on my scalp is carcinoma and has been there for many years . How could he be so inept in his observation of a skin lesion which was quickly diagnosed by another physician and is being removed surgically on September 29th . This physician also found several precancers lesions on my arm . I am not the only one he has failed miserably . A friend of mine also had the same experience with an extensive basal cell carcinoma on her arm . I feel he is more interested in selling his Cosmetics than medicine he is not a board certified dermatologist .

It was coded as a surgery & my deductible was not satisfied. I went to Dr. Grieshaber all my life, my mom went, my grandparents would see him. I took my kids to him. He was always singing, happy, not rushed, that was not the case on this appointment, He was in a rush, his assistant was rushing him. Haven't been back since.

I'm overjoyed to say that I've found my new local med spa and dermatologist!…read more I had become quite addicted to getting monthly facials which, at a med spa is an entirely different experience. I love getting oxygen facials and a variety of others that I just discovered last spring when I signed up for a subscription plan at the spa close to home in New York. Upon moving back to NOLA, I searched Yelp for a med spa with a subscription plan and immediately made my appointment. A subscription plan is nice because going monthly is key to keeping your skin in tip top shape. Admittedly I haven't done much more than use good products throughout my adulthood but now I'm a believer! I also get the occasional laser Genesis treatments (evens skin tone, erases fine lines et), which Hickham has here as well. It's the least invasive laser (honestly, I always think lasers hurt) and leaves you positively glowing. My appointment was with Dawn and she was great! We did dermaplaning and the laser Genesis and I left loving my positively dewy skin. No downtime with Laser Genesis either. Hickham offers two kinds of subscription services, one for facials and one for laser treatments and microneedling (which is a little scary for me but I may check it out eventually). Both plans get you discounts on other products and services at the spa. I also visited with Dr. Hickham for that oh-so-crucial full body scan, which was quick and easy. I'll definitely be going back to her if and when I need to as she made me feel super comfortable. I'll be back regularly!
