*1-27-18* That's your submission, that I said something…read moreunprofessional? I find it interesting that I bought a new car which took three days to ship and yet I received an upsetting letter?? It was a bank issue from Acura and I was contacted over the phone. The end result was the new State Farm agent quickly resolved the issue. Placing the blame on the customer seems to repeat after all these years. I wish you well in future endeavors. Do you know the saying let sleeping dogs lie? For years I left this review sit idle. Seeing his picture with a billboard just pisses me off and now? Stony Brook neighbors, judge for yourself. I moved to the area over twenty years ago. My wife and I were two young kids starting out, we need home insurance, car insurance, collector car insurance, insurance! So we go to our local State Farm insurance office, agent Randy Pelosi across from the train station. Years ago, I needed a unique insurance auto policy. I was away on business in Ft Lauderdale and I surprised my wife with a new Acura MDX that I bought in Florida. Normally I'd drive that sucka to the auto train but I was swamped with work. I explain the situation to Mr. Pelosi, not a problem he explains. We'll take care of it. Great! I have my buddy take care of the auto shipping and away we go! Nothing happened to the car but the policy the way it was written caused a problem with my bank. It's not a problem for me, things happen. The office opens at 9am. I ask for Mr. Pelosi and I'm told he'll be in shortly. I wait 90 minutes, he's not showing up. I left a check to pay my insurance premium and said I'll call back. No harm, no foul. Here's where it gets interesting. I call about 11:30 and say hi Randy (we've done business for years and knows us) I can tell he's nervous on the phone. I told him about the policy how it was wrong and needs to be re-written properly. He's talking on the phone loudly like I'm irrational? I kept saying it's not a problem, let's just fix it. Then he drops the bomb, we may have to drop you as a customer. What?! I said what the heck man? If thats true then please give me back my check, I just made a payment and we'll go separate ways. He says if I come to the office he's calling the police. Folks, we live in nice quite area. I've had State Farm since I joined the military at 18. This guy, I am telling you is unprofessional. I called State Farm corporate and they said maybe he had a bad day. They switched me over to a new agent. My Check was cashed, no disruption in service and my new rep fixed the insurance issue that Mr. Pelosi couldn't resolve. I'm Yelp elite and know how writing a review first is tricky. This guy could have his wife and office workers with 1 reviews give glowing 5 star reviews for this business. And then they'll attack me in their reviews! In this day and age where Online insurance companies like GEICO operate, do you need a brick and mortar office with a guy who acts like a tool bag? 15 years ago he did and this review is my only recourse. If you want to use his service, enjoy. Just be aware this guy won't own up to a mistake on his part.

I am warning everyone to stay far away from this firm. My fiancé paid over $800 for professional…read moretax preparation, yet when the IRS issued a time-sensitive CP2000 notice due to their filing, this office completely failed us. While Bruce Chan originally handled the file, it was handed off to Joann (who is not a licensed CPA) without a proper transition. This led to staggering negligence and hostility. Joann was incredibly unprofessional, repeatedly yelling at my fiancé over the phone. Most appallingly, when I called to provide information regarding my own taxes, she was extremely rude and hung up the phone on me before I could even ask a follow-up question. No "professional" should ever treat a paying client with such blatant disrespect. The lack of accountability here is stunning. On March 19th, after my fiancé waited over 10 hours for a callback, Bruce finally called at 7:15 PM and was extremely hostile. He actually claimed he was "losing money" on our case--after already accepting our $800 plus payment! He also admitted that Joann is not a CPA, yet she is the one handling sensitive IRS matters and being verbally abusive to clients. Furthermore, they were completely unhelpful in resolving document discrepancies. Rather than professionally guiding us through the IRS requirements, they were dismissive and "dragged their feet," forcing us to handle the IRS response ourselves to meet the March 27th deadline. They do not take their professional responsibilities seriously. Do not trust this firm with your money or your sanity. Picture attached of Joann's unprofessionalism.
