As I found myself using her photos for decks and corporate editorial, I was reminded the power of visual storytelling in stills. We live in a world where short form and video show engagement metrics - which isn't incorrect, but that might tempt us to forget the original art of still photography to capture a moment, and motion or a sensation that moves people. For me, I hired Hannah for both event and product photography. Since then, I've sold out my events and my first batch of products. This does not happen without Hannah's genius and her talent for visual storytelling that moves people without video-in-motion; though I suspect that we might work together on that next Thank you, Hannah! I can't wait to do more with you as we continue to build!

His expert use of light, deep understanding of what appeals to the human eye, and ability to move quickly in fluid situations with high-profile subjects make him an exceptional Los Angeles events photographer. He'll follow the action to get the best shot. Spontaneous helicopter ride for extra aerial angles? He's in. Mik also brings top-notch professionalism to his craft. He always shows up early. He consistently over-delivers. He shares all shots in easy-to-browse online galleries. He doesn't make promises he can't keep. He circles back to ensure clients are happy. He responds promptly to ever inquiry. Most importantly, he'll turn down jobs that aren't a good fit. There's only one thing to warn prospective clients about: Mik's schedule books up fast because he's in high demand. Google, Hermes, Chanel, Bulgari, etc. all use him. I needed an updated headshot for work (the blurry 5+ year old one from my phone wasn't cutting it)…read moreand decided to book Mik after seeing his reviews online and reviewing his portfolio via his website, which I was very impressed by. His work is quite varied (weddings, event photography, corporate stuff, headshots, parties, etc.) but it was all done really well. His style is very crisp and clean with a timeless quality -- I think most of us want photos we can look back on for years to come that don't feel "dated." As someone who hates not only tardiness, but also having their picture taken, it was awesome Mik showed up a few minutes early and was also very personable. For once in my life, I didn't feel awkward having my picture taken. Which totally translated in the photos -- they look great! Turnaround time was quick and efficient, price beyond fair. He sent me so many options, I might even throw a few up on my dating profile -- hah! (why not I look great)

Planning before the wedding, her responses were swift and touching base with her as our plans shifted due to COVID was a breeze. Katie was completely transparent with her pricing during our pre-meeting in LA and kept us in the loop as we changed our wedding location from SLO to Lompoc. My wife scheduled a boudoir session with her in LA before the wedding and it was hosted in a rain room of sorts. It's apparent that she does research and scouts out locations before the actual wedding which made me comfortable because of how knowledgeable she is about her craft. Being a wedding photographer myself, I stressed out about finding one, but my wife and I are so happy we chose Katie. This review is mostly based on her customer service and responsiveness as well as how the whole process with her is because I truly believe her art speaks for itself. She has a unique style and vision and I would choose her again as my wedding photographer in a heartbeat.

We had the absolute best experience with Katie / Larousse Weddings…read more Searching for wedding photography was so frustrating. Honestly, it sucked. I couldn't find anyone whose photos I liked at a price-point that was reasonable. In addition to price, I had something rather specific I was looking for in the photos - a look that was moodier than most wedding photography, with a higher contrast and deeper shadows (without going overboard). Then we found Larousse, and she ticked all of those boxes, and delivered to us wedding photos that many of our friends and family have called 'the best they've ever seen.' She was great day-of too, as was her second shooter (Leo? I feel terrible I can't remember if that was his name). They did a wonderful job of being communicative and giving us guidance, helping get us the best looks, without being overbearing. My wife and I just can't say enough good things about our experience with her. If we did it all over again, we'd go with Larousse 10/10 times, hands down. Here's the link to a sampling of the photos she took from our wedding. https://www.larousseweddings.com/moody-winter-los-angeles-wedding/

Everything went smoothly and seamlessly from my first communication with him to the actual event. I contacted him about four weeks prior to the event, and he was very responsive and easy to talk to. I explained what I wanted and how I envisioned the day would flow, and he was receptive, offering helpful suggestions. Since my schedule was hectic around the holidays, all communication was done via email, and I didn't speak with him personally before the event. I trusted my instincts, booked him - finding the contract and payment process very easy - and got in touch with him a few days prior to remind him. He showed up on time, worked well with our family and guests, and took nice photos. The gallery was delivered a few days after the party, sooner than expected, and we were happy with the results. Having him was truly the easiest decision I made for my mom's celebration, and I'm looking forward to future events where I can use his services again. Thanks again, Nick!
