I have not been at this hospital since my mother was a patient in 2012 and it was known as…read moreUniversity Community Hospital. I developed the ultimate respect when they took the stance to help my mother with long-term dementia...BCBS wanted her transferred to a county health center known as a dumping ground. They "held her hostage" for a week until Blue Cross approved an appropriate, incredible care program which ultimately placed her in a facility she LOVED and where she thrived for 8 1/2yrs. A lot has changed since then. I was asked by my out-of-state son a few weeks ago to take a phone charger to his father who had been admitted the day earlier into ER. I thought it would be an easy trip, even with my permanent concussion leaving me "weak" in formerly strong mental abilities. I drove in and immediately got lost. I saw tall buildings, a parking garage, winding drives. The ER was no longer a recognizable building with a parking lot. It had its own drive with four valets stationed. I panicked; I didn't know what to do. One of the valets came up to me, I explained my brewing meltdown re where to park. He calmly spoke to me and offered for me to pull a bit down the drive, park there by the door, and he would watch my car while I went inside. ER certainly had grown, was packed, but staff was calming and made sure I had help to where I needed to be. This was not going to be easy as my son's dad is my ex and I know his temperament. He was in his room, glad I had the cord, mad that I didn't have the charger portion which he had not said he needed.... hospitals often have extras of those. He was not pleasant, but the nurses were incredible. As I stepped outside his room, they approached me, one with a hug to calm my nerves. One, later told me her name Dylan M, said she was going to have Rachel H help find the piece he needed. It took a while to find one...I was so glad they did because he was not pleasant with anyone having to go in or out of his room to tend to his needs. Sorry to be so wordy, but I had asked their names and their supervisors' names because I wanted to make sure I wrote this review. The supervisors are Erics Avellan (mgr) and Jordan King (asst mgr). I had Dylan write the four names on a piece of paper for me. CB, my nickname for my "other half" Concussion Brain, must have misplaced the piece of paper when I got home. I couldn't find it anywhere! About 15min ago I opened my Bible and turned to the next set of verses I was to read. Yes, God made sure these angels would get their due review. God, bless these women, the job they do and the staff they work with to help their patients. The heartfelt way is still at this hospital....it may have grown, its name may have changed, but I have the same love and respect for the heart they put into their jobs!

Also, he will lie in discharge summary/ "Notes from Care Team"- you may have an educated guess but I have a guess- they are both a guess- and to lie in the patient file is just utterly disgusting. Nurse Gabrielle- Patient Education could certainly use some drastic improvement- alongside with her bedside manner- she couldn't even explain why there was a discharge... She will also lie in discharge paperwork. "Notes from Care Team".

Then I explained that I was two and a half hours north of them and I had found a small clinic just 5 minutes from my house, as the treatment I needed would have required two treatments a day for six weeks. Suddenly, the tone changed, as did their body language. They told me if I went to the local clinic I was risking my life and would more then likely have a far less chance of recovering. Like they had a magic treatment of some sort. They tried their best to scare the hell out of me in plain English. While in fact I had noted the radiation machine they had and compared it to my local clinics. They had the very same machine and plan as my local clinic right in Lecanto Fl. I completed my 6 weeks of treatment and while it was rough, it did in fact help me. it's been 7 years. I would not recommend Moffitt at all for any type of cancer treatment. They didn't care about me or my situation. All they cared about was their numbers and studies. I love my Doctor. Dr Joey Bennitt. they did a great job and saved my life. If you get diagnosed with cancer, take a minute to really think about what will be the easiest for you and your family. these small clinics are a lot more personal and you see the same people every day during your treatment, while at Moffitt you never see the same people twice and they seem to be taking advantage of your diagnoses and will use it to their advantage to have you open your check book and say do what ever it takes. Truthfully, all the treatment facilities are the same and will do the exact same thing to help you. Don't fall for their scam. 7 years doing fine!

In the hospital they said they were contacting her hear doctor for tests, on 2 occasions. The tests never took place in the hospital & even though this doctor, was aware of the hospitalizations & requests for tests. Whether or not this doctor took the time to read the reports, I will never know. What I do know, is he did no follow up testing. This lack of regard & respect for his patients, wound my mother in an ambulance, calling ahead to the hospital, to prep an Operating room. They rushed her in, cut off her clothes & put a stint in, ASAP, thus literally saving her life, due to this doctors neglect & disregard for his patients welfare. If you love yourself or anyone with heart issues, I definitely would not recommend this guy. As far as I am concerned he should have lost his license, my mom was minutes from death, thanks doc! What's a girl to do? Thank God for people that know their bodies & the EMT's, that knew their jobs & went above & beyond!

Dr. Marc Bloom, Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon at Advent Health, 3000 E Fletcher Ave., Tampa,…read moreFlorida, KILLED my father during the repair of an aneurism of the ascending aorta. He was neglectful and inattentive to the pre-surgery process. I observed how Dr. Marc Bloom did not order the necessary exams to check on my father's carotid arteries, that intrigued me because of the importance of clean carotids for a successful heart surgery and as I called it to his attention he proceeded to order the necessary exams. The results of this exams were never discussed with my father and I, instead they were provided to us by the receptionist. As I called to inquire on the results of the CT of the carotid arteries a week prior to the surgery, the receptionist said Dr. Marc Bloom was out of the office, but all looked good with the carotid arteries and the surgery was to proceed as schedule; Sure enough, it was not good, my father needed to have his carotid arteries cleaned up prior to the aneurysm repair to ensure the health of his brain was not compromised during the procedure; but sure enough, because Dr. Marc Bloom was not attentive to the case, during the procedure all the trash accumulated in my father's carotids ended up in his brain and he was turned into a vegetable; but that was not enough, Dr. Marc Bloom lied to me and my family, pretended for over a week that it was something my father could recover from while the MRI of the brain showed white dots everywhere in his brain and he never wake up from the surgery. Dr. Marc Bloom and the staff at Advent Health Hospital all collaborated in the lie and deceit all to hide their responsibility. Dr. Marc Bloom continue to try to convince us to have my father moved into a long term care facility, knowing that he was never going to get better, he was just going to be exploited and squeezed out of every penny they could get from the Medicare/Medicaid and insurance company before letting him go, and this is an issue with our Health Care System and professionals in it. The Hospital, Advent Health at 3100 Bruce B Downs Blvd., Tampa; cooperated with the deceit, their final records actually show my father having been released from the hospital, as if the surgery would have been a success, and then coming back a couple of days later and dying in the emergency room, none of which is true; my father was disconnected from life support and died shortly after as a result of the negligence of Dr. Marc Bloom, Cardiothoracic Surgent at the University, 3000 E Fletcher Ave., in Tampa, Florida. My father passed 10/7/2018, it's been now that I have been able to sit and write this review, it has taken me over 2 years to process the horrifying experience provided by Dr. Marc Bloom and Advent Health Hospital, all who received payment from our good Medicare System, and who daily get paid to take care of people in the medical field. It is very sad how the medical field is money driven to the point of the professionals and businesses (hospitals and clinics) lacking all moral principals in relationship to people's health and life. Avoid Dr. Marc Bloom and Advent Health Hospital at 3100 Bruce B Downs Blvd., do not put your life or the life of your loved one in their hands. I wish I would have read a review like this before trusting Dr. Marc Bloom and Advent Health Hospital with the precious life of my loved and always missed father.
