One hour later I called the bank to cancel the transaction. After spending 40 minutes of a 42 minute call on hold, I was told it was "too late" to cancel it. This is customer service? I have been a customer since 1994, but why should I bother to continue? The tellers at the branch are super nice, but there needs to be more transparency. How about warning the customer that they might want to consider that they will only be getting 17k VND to one USD instead of the actual exchange rate of 26k VND. Maybe alert the customer that he will lose $350 on a $1000 exchange? And not make it so hard to cancel an unsatisfactory transaction? And, hey, do they think our time is so cheap that it's okay to spend 40 minutes on hold?

This significantly impacts your cumulative investment growth--they do not have your best interest in mind. I was also misinformed by a customer service representative about their Go Savings account until I read more on their website. Their training for customer representatives could cost you money, so please read up on what they're offering before you visit and trust them. They told me that I would get 3.00% APY for the first $2,499, then 1% for the remainder. That is not at all how it works--you get less than 0.03% for every penny after the $2,500 limit. I received an email invitation they were having an hour long seminar about IRAs. I was able to leave work to attend - it was a horrible commute with Beaverton and Rain. I was there well after it started, but the lady let me in - Very Grateful, since I drove all that way. The information was great/succinct and the presenter accepted random questions throughout. They went over an hour, too, so it wasn't like we had to rush to exit. The presenter had some technical difficulties, but powered through. They provided free water and some snack bars. I didn't like the overhead muzak - I mean the tunes were good, just overhead loud. I was glad to attend the Free Seminar. I hoped to have a meeting with their Financial Advisor at a later date. Generous parking, ATMs-walk up and drive through.

From the start, I've had nothing but issues with their fraud protection system. Every time I tried adding my debit card to Apple Wallet, my account froze and triggered a fraud alert. Then, after making a small purchase (under $6!) at a supermarket I visit all the time, the same thing happened again. Of course, these alerts always seemed to hit on weekends -- leaving me without access to my money until Monday. When I finally reached customer service, they offered no real help. I was told there was nothing they could do and that "Apple or the market" was causing the alerts -- which makes no sense, since I've never had this issue with any other bank. More recently, my direct deposit didn't post on the scheduled day. I went into the branch to let them know and asked that any overdraft fees be reversed since the deposit would arrive the next business day. Instead of helping, the assistant manager, Kay Birgul, was dismissive and rude. Her exact words were, "If you have more items that hit before your deposit, your employer will have to cover them." I've never requested a fee reversal before and didn't appreciate being treated like an inconvenience. To be fair, other staff at that branch have been kind and helpful in the past -- but this experience was enough to push me to close my account. I'm moving out of state soon anyway and will be switching to another bank. I'm sure there are plenty of local options with better customer service and fewer technical issues.

Difficulty with Bill Pay when a check they sent to a vendor was intercepted by someone else. The experience in trying to get the necessary info, and finally get my money back wasn't the best but it did got done so that's good. 2. eStatements never show up until 2 or more days after the first of the month. It's now Thursday, December 4 and I still don't have my November eStatements. I'd say this is my biggest pet peeve with Unitus. I also use First Tech Federal CU and I get my eStatements from them on the first, unless that's a Sunday.
