I signed an agreement with this attorney in February 2025 regarding my child support case. It is now April 2026, and the appeal that was supposed to be filed has still not been completed. The 60-day deadline for filing an appeal was missed due to his inaction. During this time, court hearings were repeatedly postponed. The attorney did not take the necessary steps to file the appeal on time. Separately, the Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) submitted forms to the court -- this was not done by my attorney. I paid $5,000 upfront and still owe an additional $1,000, including charges for phone calls and emails. I do not speak English, so all communication was done through written messages, which made me fully dependent on his office for updates. Over the course of a year, his office had constant staff turnover. Three different assistants left during my case, which caused delays and confusion. It became very difficult to get timely responses or clear information. Recently, after billing me for calls and emails, I was told that my language barrier was a problem and that they could not communicate effectively with me because the Russian-speaking assistant had left. However, this was never presented as an issue when taking my case. As a result, the appeal was not filed on time, and I suffered serious financial and legal consequences. I trusted this attorney's professionalism and expected my case to be handled properly. I regret not reading reviews before hiring him. I hired David Foyil to handle a harassment case involving a neighbor. While they initially explained that harassment cases weren't their usual focus, they agreed to take on the case, believing it would be a good fit since we were "easy to work with." After paying the initial fee and submitting over 30 pieces of evidence, things quickly started to go wrong. The opposing party secured legal counsel, and the court date was postponed. It was Foyil's responsibility to resubmit the harassment order to ensure we were protected, but when the neighbor violated the order, I contacted the sheriff's department only to learn that the order had never been resubmitted. As a result, I was left unprotected for weeks. I had to repeatedly ask David Foyil for meetings before the court date, and when we finally met, the documents were in disarray, costing me over two hours to sort through them. Worse, key documents hadn't even been submitted to the court. Foyil also insisted that I memorize dates (more than 40 of them) just one day before the trial. On the day of the trial, Foyil arrived over 10 minutes late, after we had already heard an entire case. He also spoke with the judge about another case before our turn. He then told me that he thought we would lose the case because the other case had "similar attributes," even though our case was supported by clear evidence. He strongly pushed for a settlement. In the end, we paid both Foyil and the opposing attorney, but I felt like I did most of the work myself. To make matters worse, I received an additional bill four months later for fees that were never communicated to me upfront. If you're going through a difficult situation, I would advise you to look elsewhere. They hesitated and they told me they would have some one call me about my case. In just a few hour I got a call back and they gave my case to some one that knew what she was doing. But the one thing that suck's. Is every time they call me I was charged multiple times for stupid questions. They would charged for email me. When I contacted this law firm they gave me a one flat rate cost for my case. I have been paying them every time they contact me. Do not hire this law firm. The firm will take your retainer, promise work product, and do nothing. David Foyil is what's known as a "snake oil" salesman. Not only does he have difficulty managing clients, he personally can't satisfy his financial obligations. Hence, filing for bankruptcy (Ch.11: 22-21864-E-11-DEF-3). I believe this to be a direct reflection of his character and business acumen. You will be forced to work directly with his incompetent staff who shields Mr. Foyil from communicating with his clients. They will miss deadlines, copy and paste opposing counsels communications, and intentionally keep you out of the communication loop. This has lead to personal financial damages. Notice, he doesn't have a personal photograph, direct contact information, or post his license anywhere (David Eugene Foyil, CA license #178067) like other attorneys. This is intentional. If you do work with his team, you'll quickly learn that all messages are disjointed and generate unnecessary billable hours resulting in direct cost to you without tangible result. It's their business practice. My personal experience is nothing less than a nightmare. I've filed a formal complaint with the state bar of California and have been assigned a team to address real damages. He refuses to discuss these damages and produce a mandated file demonstrating work product, despite my many requests and legal obligation. This is a minimum requirement that all attorney must follow especially when billed. Mr. Foyil willfully refuses to do so. I'm looking forward to mandatory arbitration where Mr. Foyil will be exposed for his willful and intentional malpractice. Lastly, Mr. Foyil uses several tactics to hide his reviews. Trust everyone that has posted negative feedback. In fact, I'd argue it's much worse than what can be framed in a short review. In my opinion, Mr. Foyil should not be allowed to practice law. I recommend anyone that has a grievance with this firm to escalate directly to the State Bar of CA. David Foyil and his associates is the worse office to seek divorce representation. Their office never responded quick to any of my questions, did not care to answer my concerns, and never got anything done for me as far as my case. All Mr. Foyil cared about was the money. The bill got so high after the retainer fee was depleted. He actually did an SOA mistakenly on me so as of today, it is only right that I seek a better, more qualified attorney to deal with my contested divorce legal matters. If I could give zero stars I would David is absolutely greedy, dishonest , and irresponsible. Did not communicate at all; we had to basically to all the work ourselves for custody case. He charged us fees for services in which he didn't even provide. We basically fulfilled what was needed on our own despite his services . Come to find out everything we hired him for we basically could have simply done on our own. He claimed to be Christian and honest , yet he took our money for the retainer and than also charged us more for every mistake he made. Every phone call in which we shouldn't have even needed to make the amount phone calls we made due to his negligence . He will rob and manipulate you completely. This office lacks organization and communication skills. I wouldn't typically speak poorly on a past employer, but I think it is warranted in this case. I was laid off after notifying them I would be full filing a military obligation (deployment). From my experience of working here, clients would call with a question/inquiring an update. The procedure is to take a message and bill for your time. It can take days to weeks before you as a client receive a response. Employees are told to lie and say the attorney is in court or in a meeting in order to get the client to take a message. I often felt bad for clients as they would routinely call and not receive adequate responses. Prices are cheaper than other offices, but I personally wouldn't compromise cost for quality. read more

I hired David Doyle to do a Family Trust Jan 19, 2022 for 2500.00 because I have another trust that has a lot of things I don't need in this trust. Well 5months later, I still don't have it. Got 1 set of doc's, 1 visit after hounding for months. Was suppose to have a phone conference, did not happen, he was not in his office.. I paid 1250 up front, and now to get the paperwork they want the other 1250. They claim they emailed it to me, nope its not in spam either. I just want this terrible service to end, and have my trust done, but how can you when they just give me the run around. I have called at least 10 times to get updates. Today I called, ready to fire things up, and telling them I want my "uncompleted trust" that 5 months is unacceptable , that this is not working out. I hired the equal justice law group after a consult referral from my EAP resource from work. What a monumental mistake. Custody of your child is a delicate and life changing process, and don't make the mistake I did of putting that in the hands of someone who only knows how to cash checks. We were given bad legal advice twice, costing us time, filing fees and losing the legal high ground with my ex. We would call leave messages, no response for over a week, but if they needed us to pay an e-file fee they were calling us twice a day. It got to the point where my husband and I were having to leverage paying back the e-file fee for information on our case. "Give me an update and I'll pay back your 20$ fee". The only legal clerk worth a second breath all the sudden disappeared. I was told due to COVID everyone is teleworking and communication is a challenge. Then a few days later her auto-reply email stated she was no longer with the firm. Night mare upon nightmare. I called my EAP and complained. So upset. The EAP stuck up for me. They called the equal joke lawfirm and requested a full refund and if we weren't refunded then they would remain on the 'do not call list'. Not an office I would hire. The one and only attorney for the office is vain and not communicative except for the initial consultation. Most of the clients are from his church. The upper management is his family and doesn't think for themselves, it's all about what David wants. He says he's honest but it's really about how he feels not about honesty. He promised a quick and simple resolution to our problem, took our money, and I never heard from his staff except to ask for more money. His staff was clueless, the paperwork was filled with spelling and grammatical errors, which took months for them to correct and refile.
