Lucas S (Puerto Rico): Quite an unfortunate experience with Epic Board Sports. Strongly recommend that this shop utilize insurance when sending to out of state customers. I ordered a wing on Mar 2, it was delivered to my condo complex on Mar 6 and the product was missing from inside. I pursued the issue with my mailroom as well as the local post office and both entities said to work with the company because the package should have been insured so that a claim could be submitted. Unfortunately the package was not insured. As a result I am out $800+. I tried working with Jonathan and Jennifer and neither of them acknowledged the issue but rather blamed my mailroom stating that it was signed for and as a result they washed their hands of the issue. The shop came highly recommended from my buddies at Patrick AFB and unfortunately their level of customer service was not up to par. This could have been prevented by applying insurance onto the package and allowing the USPS claim process to work itself out. I will not be ordering from this company again and will warn the Wing Foiling community here in Puerto Rico of the same. Lucas C. read more

Epic experience! Bf and I were looking to do something fun in cocoa beach for the day and decided we wanted to do SUP. We came across this place and were originally hoping to book a tour but they only do tours at 8 AM. We rented anyway and glad we did! Jennifer was great! I was between Orlando and Cocoa Beach on vacation and was looking for a place to paddle around Cocoa Beach/Melbourne area with a 11 year old riding along for the first time. She gave me great recommendations! We had so much fun. I had brought everything we needed to paddle, so I didn't buy anything, but she was super helpful regardless and it was very appreciated. Such an outstanding experience. Thank you to Jennifer for working with me in advance to find the perfect paddle boarding option for my group and then keeping us updated with weather reports! We ended up changing dates because of a cold front coming through, and it worked out fabulously. Jonathan guided our tour, he offered to change up our tour based on what we wanted and our fitness/experience level. We saw multiple manatees, and several groups of dolphins -- terribly exciting. I would go to a negative 10 if that was a rating choice. My wife and I simply pulled in to an almost empty parking lot and got out of our truck to go to a nearby business. Before leaving the vehicle we were approached by a man in the parking lot who said we couldn't park here. I said okay and turned around to return to my vehicle and simply stayed that I did not see any do not park on the premises. He took a step closer and pointed to two signs out on the street and started claiming that I had a bad attitude. At this point I had barely said any side way words to him and looked at him in surprise. Realizing that any further dialogue was pointless, I got into my truck- while he continued to berate me more loudly that I had a bad attitude. If this is the type person running this business I could certainly see why he had no customers; hence, his bad attitude. read more

The owners are great so thoughtful go above and beyond to make sure your are comfortable and have everything you need as well as having a great time. Cocoa Beach is hands down one of our favorite vacation places and I had been dying to try SUP. They were closed on a Monday but promptly returned my email via their website to set something up for Tuesday morning. They showed up early for us at 9 then we headed just down the street to start our 2 hour tour. We had the most amazing time! I had really just hoped to gain some experience paddle boarding with a nice view but Jonathan was so much more! We saw an amazing amount of wildlife including dolphins and manatees. Do yourself a favor and skip the discount paddle board tours and go enjoy a tour or lesson with these folks who are obviously knowledgeable and love what they do! Next time we come back this will be at the top of our priority list read more

Was surprised to have my experience at Epic Board sports: it had good reviews and was recommended to me by a friend in FL. I'm not marking experience as terrible because they a) have great location, b) have quality boards (but not paddles) and are polite. Here is why it was bad: 1) I described to Jen my level of SUP surfing skills (~160 hrs surfing=beginner). She put me on Hokua 8'8 which is designed for late take offs on steep walls and carving. It was like paddling a door on 2-4' slow rolling FL waves. I later checked board reviews on standupzone.com and sure enough FL surfers were complaining about Hokuas. Jen of course knew that and most likely the board was offered as a rental because Hokuas don't sell down there. Why not have rentals that work in local conditions the best? She didn't have adjustable paddles to offer. I prefer longer paddle, but had to settle for just a couple inches above my head. That was a first for me at a SUP rental shop. 2) I explicitly told Jen several times that I wanted the board for only couple hours. She said it was $50 minimum to rent from them. I didn't question that because her shop was recommended by a friend and it turned out that we had other common acquaintances in the SUP industry. She had my trust before I walked in. I grabbed their leaflet and a card on the way out of the shop after I dropped off the board. Turns out that they have half-day rental at $35. I looked at my receipt in hope that it would say that the Hokua that I rented was some premium board rental option and instead saw that she charged me for the full day rental. Business must be very slow for her to make that choice. Needless to say I didn't go back. I stayed in Cocoa Beach for 2 more weeks and rented from other shops. If you are in the area and end up at Epic Boardsports to rent SUP board for surfing, do the research on the boards that work best for FL waves and make sure to see the rental rate in print for the amount of time you want to rent the board for. I'm PaddleFit Core certified coach and I want every one in the SUP universe to have the best experience. read more

This was my group of 6's first time trying paddleboarding and it was an AMAZING experience! We had the best time, we couldnt stop talking about it after! And Jennifer, our guide and the owner recommended when we should go and what time we should go and she couldn't have been more spot on! Plus she was so knowledgeable - in regards to how to paddleboard, and the wildlife! We would highly recommend you try this and let Jennifer take you on a beautiful experience (with dolphins and manatees included) down the Banana River. They spent so much time with us discussing all the boards and helping us decide on the best board for each of us. They are passionate business owners and care about the customers. You will be super happy with their selection and customer service. We checked out other shops before Epic and not a single one gave us as much service and information as them. We bought a second Starboard SUP from EPIC, they delivered it to our beach condo yesterday! We love this shop - great advice, service, selection, inventory, knowledge. And the family that owns it, delivered the SUP to our Cape Canaveral condo for free! The carbon fiber SUPs they have in stock, are light as a feather, and absolutely make me drool. As my skills improve, I'll be thinking about adding a high priced carbon fiber beauty to my SUP quiver! read more
