Yes, it's a pale comparison to actually grabbing your passport and traveling the world, but for many people, that's a luxury they'll never be able to afford. So World Showcase is sort of the next best thing I guess. This semi-circle of fake countries is like a giant World's Fair, Disney style. Everything is picture-perfect and clean and sanitized, but it sure is a whole lot of fun to stroll from Germany into Italy and onward to Canada. Each "country" sells imported goods and food that's typical to the region. All of the employees at each stop are actually from the country (if you speak any foreign languages, it's fun to converse with the cast members in their home language). We have a blast practicing our Spanish, Italian and French skills with native speakers here and they are usually good sports about it. The attractions are few and far between, with most being educational movies that are pretty outdated. The big deal ride is the Frozen water ride at Norway. Otherwise, the thing to do is stroll. World Showcase is so pretty at night and it's my favorite time to visit. It's even better during the annual Epcot Food and Wine Festival when you can drink and eat around the world at special festival booths. read more

Not sure how you would NOT give the World Showcase five stars... It literally has everything. From chicken wraps in Morocco to pastries in France, it has a ton of delicious food options. If dining out isn't your thing, there's tons of culture to be seen, too, as well as shows and sometimes festivals. The Showcase itself also has a few rides, including the Frozen ride, in Norway, and the rides near the Epcot ball. read more

I tried drinking around the world! There are special shirts you can make or purchase that will give you the option of "checking off" every country as you continue to purchase drinks in each one. I uploaded pictures of (mostly) every drink I tried in every country. The plum wine (not pictured) from Japan and the grapefruit beer from Germany were my favorite drinks. Those two are year round. This time, I went during the Garden and Flower Festival so some of my drinks pictured might be only available during one of the four annual Epcot festivals. Some of my favorite snacks that are available year round are the giant pretzels from Germany, cheese platter from France, and the fish & chips from UK. Of course, expect to spend $$$ if you decide to go on a drinking and eating adventure. Each drink is $5-$12 and each snack is around $8-$15. I recommend coming with friends and splitting the cost so you can try as many things as possible. While I do think that a lot of what I've tried is worth it, there are definitely a few that I regretted getting. The $7 crepes from France were disappointing. The crepes are pre-made, the chocolate syrup was average, and the ice cream on top was soft serve. They literally had a stack of crepes already made and just threw them on an actual crepe griddle to heat up for 5 seconds. I used to love the fish and chips from UK but found that their quality hasn't really held up when I ate them yesterday. The fish was drier and there was more batter than fish. The fries were more soggy than crispy. I hope that what I had yesterday was a one time thing and that the next time I come to Epcot the fish and chips will be like what I remembered. The lines for all the food and drinks were crazy! Of course, we expected them to be because we came on a Saturday during a food festival. However, the park itself wasn't too populated. The max wait for Frozen during peak time was only 100min, which is considered low because the wait for that ride can still hit 3 hours. We definitely spent more time waiting for drinks than waiting for rides. For drinking, my advice would be to start in Canada and end in Mexico. There is a bar inside the Mexico pavilion called Cava Del Tequila that serves the largest, most boozy margaritas. So, you can drink throughout the countries and end in Mexico with a huge bang. I've heard a lot of good things about Cava but was actually disappointed at the service. The bartenders were really busy (45min wait to get inside) but that doesn't give them an excuse to ignore my friend when she tried to tell them that she did not want tequila in her drink. They gave her a margarita and she told them that she is allergic to tequila (she will break out in hives on her body and will need to leave the theme park). She asked if they could remake her drink and they just flat out refused. They told her to buy another drink so she ended up paying for two drinks. She couldn't refuse to tip them because the tip was automatically added to her receipt. It was just really rude of them to do that to her and not the Disney service we were used to. read more

I love coming to the World Showcase! I can come to EPCOT and only walk around here. First of all, the 11 countries represented are phenomenal. You can visit Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Morocco, Japan, the United States, Italy, Germany, China, Norway, and Mexico. Walking into each pavilion really feels like walking into that country (I've actually been to 6 of the 11, so I can attest to the authenticity). And the food is phenomenal! Each pavilion has at least one quick service and one table service restaurant, and I highly recommend visiting them. During the festivals (Festival of the Arts, Flower and Garden, Food and Wine, and Holidays) you can find even more countries' foods and drinks represented. It's a great place to come to walk around, enjoy the sights, and eat great food. Plus there's awesome shopping to be done in each pavilion, and you can do character meet and greets in most of the countries. Plus the shows they have at some of the pavilions are great! Make sure to download the app to see when to catch the trapeze artists in China or the pantomime in France! read more

Great architecture and wonderful 'hosts' represent each country, but the large groups of Spanish speaking tourists leave something to be desired. We witnessed much cultural insensitivity for which this beautiful park is SUPPOSED TO be fostering. In the China section we observed, a group of young adults having fun mimicking slant eyes while borrowing the bamboo hats for a photo? Is it the kind of fun that these obviously ignorant, insensitive, elitist and privileged members of societies of South America normally have? No wonder their societies are a mess! read more

The first time I went to Walt Disney World - sent there by my employer in 2001 as a reward for just being me - the first place I went during my free time was EPCOT. I didn't go on a single ride that night; I just explored the World Showcase. What seems familiar and unexciting (though still interesting) felt like a revelation back then. It is like when you recommend your favorite book or movie to someone and then you envy them for being able to enjoy it for the first time. With no thrill rides or spectacular stage shows, you need to bring different expectations into the World Showcase. Let's think of it as giving yourself permission to bring a Slow Pass in with you for a change. But please allow me to hastily add that if there are small giggling Frozen fans in your group, you will need to Fast Pass the Frozen Ever After ride at the Norway pavilion. Otherwise the line to see it will seem to be frozen in place. Be sure to grab the Times Guide along with the park map on your way into EPCOT. There is a lot of entertainment taking place in the World Showcase, from drummers to tumblers to British Invasion music, and a little knowledge can go a long way. There are also entertaining films about the countries of Canada, China and France that get you out of the sun on hot days. Not to mention the architectural splendor of realistic buildings and the educational reproductions of the Chinese terra cotta army. And don't forget to pose next to the totem pole in Canada, the real one, that is. There is at least one non-frozen ride among the countries, however, and that is the Gran Fiesta Tour with Donald Duck at the Mexico pavilion. It includes a frenetic story line and a neat volcano. If you are looking to find inexpensive gifts in the World Showcase, um, wake up, you are at Disney where even pens and mugs cost $10 or more! But you can find unique gifts related to most of the countries, especially at Morocco and Mexico. You should never hear, "Ah, thanks, I'll put it with my other one," unless you buy tea at Great Britain, that is. Other things to look for include the "channel" between France and England, the Eiffel Tower, a Guinness at the Rose and Crown, and the meaning of the brownish path that runs along the American pavillion. (Gross but historically accurate, they tell us.) Also, if you want water that is actually cold from a water fountain, look between the music stage and China. At least I think that is where we discovered it. If you are feeling tired (remember EPCOT stands for Every Person Comes Out Tired), you might be able to save a few steps by using the ferry that runs between Morocco and the front of the World Showcase. read more

No passport needed. Walk from one country to another, experiencing authentic food and music, cultural crafts, attendants who originated from the country represented and beautiful replica structures closely resembling actual buildings or ruins located within the country of origin. Alcohol is freely served throughout the park along with Starbucks coffee, Werthers candies and authentic Falafels. No matter where you turn there is something to see and do. I was a little disappointed with the fireworks show. It was way better in past years but still excellent overall. Customer service is excellent throughout the park and wear good walking shoes. You will need them. I don't really recommend this park for small children as they probably will grow bored with the adult themes. Note: The Universe Of Energy ride is still there but awkwardly uncomfortable. Hosted by and starring Ellen and Bill Nye the Science Guy, they tout dinosaurs as the foundation for the petroleum based economies of the world. Can you say "Climate Change?" It was a bad idea to bring kids (2 and 4) to this place. The COVID police would not let anyone withing 20 ft of Mickey, Minnie, and the gang. My kids almost didn't see the mascots at all because they were rushed through the park so fast. Disney should just close the park instead of ruining its immage as mask freaks, seriously. read more

This was my favorite Disney park. We went in early April and everything was absolutely beautiful! The different "countries" were really cool and it was fun to go "drinking around the world." Make sure you get a fast pass for soarin! My 4 year old and 8 year old niece LOVED it and so did all the grown ups. This was a great place to spend the day and trying different foods was really cool. We are at a Mexican restaurant and everything was super authentic. The staff greeted you in Spanish and introduced themselves in Spanish as well. Truly a must-do park!!! The fireworks were just okay, especially when you compare them to Magic Kingdom's. read more

Okay this is one of my favorite places ever ! I absolutely love the World Showcase . Where else can you visit 11 authentic looking countries in a day. Each country is designed to resemble each country . The people who run the stores, restaurants , and kiosks are actually from these countries. Each one is so amazing some of my favorite restaurants are located in this area! The Mexican Pavilion is all inside when you first enter there is a small museum type area. Then you can actually go into the pavilion down the stairs there is a ride hidden in the back to the left a lot of people miss. One of my favorite restaurants the San Angel Inn is inside. I've always eaten here since I was little so it's a family tradition we get a table by the water. It has a romantic type atmosphere. There are a few shops inside. You can get some cheap gets here as well. Don't miss going inside this pavilion it's just really cool. Like your in a totally different world ! You can meet Donald Duck in his three amigos outfit sometimes I've only seen him once. Norway has always been one of my favorites Maelstrom use to be the ride but now it's Frozen I haven't rode it yet . The bakery they in this pavilion is really yummy. My mom always loved eating at Akershus ( we never did I use to fill up on all the different cheese lol) now it's a Princess character meal and I hear it's pretty good. The shops is Norway are pretty cool my sister collects the trolls the sell. There is a meet and Greet with the characters from Frozen . The China Pavilion has a distinct triple arched ceremonial gate patterned after the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. The Chinese Pavilion is quite beautiful with many nice picture spots. I love shopping here it's one of my favorite stores in Epcot. I like the ones where I can get a cheap souvenir and I always can here. Not too mention they have really nice ones as well. They have a counter service Restaurant and a sit down restaurant. You will not want to miss the Chinese acrobats either! The museum is really nice as well not too mention quite gorgeous! Inside there is a replica of the terra-cotta army. When you go in the museum make sure you look up and enjoy this spectacular ceiling! Germany is also a beautiful Pavilion with a mix of the different regions of Germany with the clocks , the medieval castle and the Bavarian style buildings. Beirgarten is the restaurant a lot of people enjoy it as they have a Oktoberfest style atmosphere and show to watch while you eat. I don't eat there often because you are seated at long tables with other guests and well I prefer my own area . There is also a counter service restaurant. Lots of different shops to shop at. Italy I love just enjoying the atmosphere of Italy ! The bakery and restaurant are great here as well. The shops are amazing the different wines yes this is another one of my favorites with great picture spots . Grab a pizza or some spaghetti . There are sit down restaurants and a counter service spot. United States well I live here so this is kind of embarrassing to admit but I've never seen the show but I have ate at the counter service restaurant lol ! Which means I'm going to make a point to watch them next visit it's bad because I've been around 25 times maybe more ! Japan another beautiful Pavilion that I live to shop at. The "White Heron Castle" is modeled after a 17th century fortress that overlooks Himeji. You can pick a pearl and have it made into a piece of jewelry. There are many cool souvenirs you can buy in Japan. Teppan Edo is a great place to eat it's a hibatchi restaurant and the food is really good . Moroccan pavilion is a reproduction of the Koutoubia Minaret of Marrakesh, a prayer tower of the 12th century mosque. This is a great Pavilion to shop with all types of goodies especially the leather goods. There are two sit down restaurants and a counter service restaurant. I myself do not like the counter service restaurant and I love Greek Food so idk! France is a great place to grab a pastry or shop for some new perfume. They are about to open a Ratatouille ride I'm so excited! There are a couple of nice restaurants to choose from. United Kingdom is another good spot with a lot of shops. Two different dining choices I've heard the fish and chips are pretty tasty ! Canada this was my grandpas favorite he always had to go get a steak from Le Cellier sadly I haven't went since I was an adult . The Pavilion is pretty and the shop has some goodies it's kind of small though. read more

Ah, back to the learning I talked about in an overall Epcot review. The World Showcase represents most nations of the world with its architecture and food. A stop in the Mexico area takes to to an Incan pyramid with a restaurant and gift shop inside as well as "street vendors" selling tacos and margaritas on the outside. India, Morocco, Africa, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, China, Japan, Norway and of course the United States are all represented in food Candies, drink pastries and/or rides. Mexico has the Gran Fiesta Tour and Norway has the Frozen ride. Germany has a large working electric train to attract attention. Canada has a 360 theater view of the country. In addition to foods, sights and sounds, each area employs transplants from those countries. There's something for everyone here. read more

I love the World Showcase, but not during beer or wine festival. At that point it's packed with people chugging anything they can get. The lines are long (and this is not peak season), which takes away from the overall experience. There are many times this has been great. Adding more alcohol and/or alcohol related events may draw people, but reduces the overall experience. But, like other attractions, the best way to draw adults is with alcohol. This is the best way to do Disney as an adult! I had so much fun drinking and eating around the world. It really was a blast and an all day adventure. You just have to be careful to pace yourself so you don't get too drunk or run out of steam. My only critique would be that one of the 11 countries is the USA which I don't think it necessary because the whole park is basically the USA. Instead of making Kenya a non official country in between other countries they should make it its own official country. Otherwise it was lots of fun and I highly recommend for adults not so much kids. read more

Rode Soarin' then afterwards had dinner at the food court. Had the Mongolian Beef with one side. I was surprised that when I ordered my food the lady assumed I wanted fried rice and never asked me the option of getting noodles. When I asked her about the noodles she seemed annoyed. I said no worries kept with what she gave me. Later I told the other lady worker/manager near the register my experience and she sincerely apologized and comp my food which I accepted. Food was good had a little more sauce than needed. Other than that everything else went well. read more

First- I am sorry for ruining this for disney fans who are unable to objectively view something in terms of what is was, and what it is now. Epcot CENTERs mission was to educate- about science, and encourage learning in a fun an interactive way. The rides were slow- but long, with fantastic animatronics. Since I was a child, every single dark ride has been ripped out for something "better", more thrilling, or cheaper. And as such, you are left without a "theme" park. It is now just a shell of its former self so far removed from what Walt intended. If I wanted a thrill ride, I would go to six flags. My biggest disappointment today is that I will NEVER be able to give my children the experience my grandparents were able to give me growing up. read more

Five-stars for 5 years in a row attending United Way's Chef's Gala at the EPCOT World Showcase. I could not imagine a better venue. The staff and volunteers do a phenomenal job making sure our visit is always the best it can be. We park in the event lot, go through security and load a charter bus. At the drop off point, we are directed, briefly, into EPCOT and there were staff to direct us to the "red carpet" that fronts the World Showcase. There, volunteers were quick to offer a to take a photo with our own phones; and, then we checked into the event. I'd already registered for the silent auction (and had begun bidding) so no delays there. Inside, 24 world-class restaurants were represented, many from Walt Disney World and Disney Springs. We always have a great time; and, are already planning to attend next year. read more

I absolutely love the world showcase! There are so many different countries and cuisines to try here it's hard to pick a place. They aren't cheap but it's in Disney so I wouldn't expect any bargains. There are live shows and entertainment in each of the countries. Unique drinks, food, and souvenirs also! I would definitely plan on being here a few hours if you want to see everything! read more

World Showcase is my very favorite place in all of Disney World. Eleven countries are represented with gorgeous buildings, authentic entertainment, food, and shopping as well as a few (two, with a third coming) rides. There's plenty to do for adults. My happy place! I spent the perfect "me day" at Epcot last week and it was uh-mazing. Yeah, the beauty of it all, the cleanliness, friendly cast members, and awesome rides were winners, but what took my day over the top was hands down the World Showcase. After days of walking 20,000+ steps in the Orlando parks, by the time the last day of my trip came around (the Epcot day), I was exhausted. My mind was ready to play, but my body was seriously breaking down on me. Nothing could have been better than the World Showcase for a day like that. Yes, it's a huge area with a lot of walking, but there are also so many places to sit and people watch. There's a boat that takes you from one end of the showcase to the other, for those with weary feet like mine. I spent my day exploring one country at a time, sitting down to enjoy the food and drink options, then getting up to shop a bit. I took my sweet time and when I got to the end of the showcase I was actually upset that I didn't have time to go around again! I would suggest setting aside at least 1.5-2 days to visit Epcot. One half to one full day for the rides, and one full day for the World Showcase. I did it in one day but I was definitely rushing (I had a plane to catch at 9pm) and wishing that I had at more time. There is so much to see and do and this is definitely something to go on your can't miss list. Epcot as a whole is amazing. I can't say it's the best Disney park because they are all fantastic in their own way. But, for curious adults who love to broaden their horizons, this park is heaven on Earth. Beware: Kids may get bored (the young ones especially) so I say leave 'em with Grandma and Grandpa at the hotel and plan for this to be a day a date with your significant other! read more

Every country has their own drink or food you can taste.. i buy the food and wine gift card for it can be easier and faster to pay.. the only suggestion i have is the drinks in each country are a bit pricing but if you go to Morocco and go to the full bar it's a lot cheaper you will notice the difference. read more

Absolutely loved this! There are different pavilions representing a different country. It's a multicultural smorgasbord of attractions, food, shopping, and staff from the countries in each pavilion. At night, gas torches are lit around the park. The scenery, bridges, water; they all come together to make an amazing scene. The fireworks show at the end of the night were spectacular, especially with the globe display coming out to the water. The whole thing was insanely awesome! A whole day could be spent here, and you wouldn't be able to do everything. Nevermind the rest of Epcot. read more

Epcot is amazing! The world showcase is the best part as you get a taste of a variety of cultures, including food and souvenirs. Don't just walk past the countries - take the time to explore each and you'll be glad you did. There are hidden treasures tucked in alcoves of each country. The short of it: we LOVED World Showcase at Epcot! Favorite countries: Morocco (Mrs.), Japan (Mr. and Mrs.), Mexico (Mr. and Mrs.), UK (Mr.) We are from California and in preparation for our trip to Disney World I was hesitant to go to Epcot in the first place, didn't sound fun... The hubby, on the other hand, was very intent on going. You eat, experience, and buy stuff here! :) We visited: 1. Canada - we saw Circle Vision 360 and visited their very small gift shop 2. UK - bought a t-shirt and a can of beer here - beer was okay, hubby loves his shirt, and visited all of their really neat gift shops 3. France - wine tasting and visiting shops 4. Italy - visited perfume shop and popped into area where food was being sold 5. Germany - bought a yucky pretzel - I know, how could they screw up a pretzel in Germany??? Not sure how, but they did. Beer was pretty good here. 6. Norway - cute displays, went on the Frozen ride (in Mrs. Gomez's opinion, highly over-rated ride), and purchased a cap for the hubby 7. Morocco - Such a beautiful area - bought a pretty coin bracelet here that I am super happy about 8. Japan - Fun, fun, fun shopping here! We tasted some new sake's and bought a Monchichi, lucky little owl, and raccoon sake set. Beautiful displays and huge shopping area 9. China - Fun to shop here too! Fun displays and shopping 10. Mexico - Ok... this was one of our mostly frequently visited country during the many visits here. We ordered yummy margaritas from La Cave de Tequila, ate at two different restaurants here, and went on the Donald Duck ride (pretty fun ride) while waiting for our seats. We didn't buy anything here since most of what they sell I can get here in CA for cheaper... 11. U.S. - so disappointing as all we did was use the restroom here two times - I think there's one store here and possibly something else but it is just disappointing because we really are under-represented... My favorite part of Epcot. I love eating in Mexico then riding on the water ride after to soak in the AC and rest before I go shopping. Love the fish and chips in Britain and the perfumes in France. I wish they would open a fast food pizza place in Italy. I don't want to wait hours for a good quality pizza or gelato. I heard Brazil will be the next country. Wouldn't be surprised if Disney made replica favelas into overpriced restaurants and stores. It's ok. No one would be offended. read more

I love the World Showcase! You can learn, you can play games, you can ride rides, and you can drink around the world. Each country offers something different in buildings, rides, and food. If you have kids, or even if you are a grown human who enjoyed watching Phineas and Ferb, make sure to stop outside of the showcase and pick and something to play the Agent P game. It's not difficult and it is fun! This is not the place for thrill rides, but there are a few to check out (if you want to get on the Frozen ride, make sure to get a fast pass, or be prepared to wait for a while). If you want to try to drink around the world, just you know, be smart and safe. I have done a bit of it, and it can get a little expensive, but still fun. read more

My favorite part of my visit to Epcot! I love the pavilions from the countries. Interacting with the young people from their native lands is the best experience of my day. Tasting authentic foods and drinks makes this for a great time no matter who you are. Warning, during the summer months is gets really hot and there is no protection from the sun on this side of the theme park. While there are many places to stop and rest in the A/C, be aware of the heat index prior to exploring this area. read more

The World Showcase may be my favorite attraction/exhibit throughout Disney World overall. With everything going on in this world, it's nice to see history and different items/clothing from many different countries around the world! The countries featured are Canada, United Kingdom, France, Morocco, Japan, The United States, Italy, Germany, China, Norway, and Mexico. There is a certain time of year (end of August through October) where they feature a food and wine tasting event from the countries as well. When I went with my guest, unfortunately it was not going on. However, we still got to talk to a lot of different people from each of the country locations, purchase the passport book and get a message written in every country's language, as well as seeing what each country specializes in clothing, food, and drink wise. We easily spent most of our day walking around in each of the stores and restaurants to simply see what was offered. My only suggestion is that they need to add a country such as Russia or Australia. However, I think that they picked each country based on whether there was a Disney movie present that took place in that country. This festival is fabulous! My only complaint was I wish they included a list of ingredients in the passport or guide. They have designated gluten free and vegan options but I'm lactose intolerant and my friend can't eat peppers. It would be nice to be able to know in advance places that we can eat. We ask at each booth, but it would just be easier. Anyway bring your appetite, lots of sunscreen and enjoy! read more
