Probably one of our favorite rides this trip and in all of Disney! The wait was full of trivia questions so it went by quick which was nice. Theres a place for you to keep your bag and loose items (make sure you do that) and then you "take off". The ride was so cool- it's a massive screen and it does feel like you're flying over all the cities and places. The ride is very smooth- you won't get motion sickness, and it's not one of those where you need the 3-d goggles so anyone can do it. It's a great ride for the whole family, I'd highly recommend it! read more

I do not know how it has been so long since Soarin' was first introduced to EPCOT, but I guess I'm old. Now featuring a new United States of America-centric version commemorating our semiquincentennial (props to myself for word use here), Disney proves that this platform is great in any format. The queue has been improved since I last visited, now featuring opportunities to interact with your fellow travelers by way of a U.S. trivia game projected onto the walls. This made for a fun way to keep things lively and interactive while waiting, rather than reverting to self-isolating on phone screens. The video intro is the same as it ever was, except with a new brief intro by Patrick Warburton reprising his air host role. *spoilers follow!* The beginning of this new version is genuinely thrilling, riding alongside the amazing SLS rocket as it takes off from it's launch pad. The size of the screen here and the rumble from the speakers is breathtaking, you feel like you're flying with the rocket. More scenes of the wonderous lands of North America follow, from cities, to national parks, and the characteristic Disney tinkerbell ending. Still a classic after all these years and iterations and a favorite among our group on this day. read more

I had fun on this ride, and I'm glad that they had an option for unlucky people like myself who are prone to motion sickness. My family went on the normal ride, and I went on the one less likely to cause me to hurl. I really enjoyed the ride, the views, and the heights. Just enough motion to enjoy, but not too much that I would've regretted my life choices. read more

Soarin' is a fun ride where you sit in rows of seats that lift up into the air in front of an 80-foot IMAX screen with a 180-degree view. The ride simulates you flying above various beautiful, wide-sweeping vistas. There are different variations of this ride. We did Soarin' Around the World. Soarin' Around the World includes, in order, the Swiss Alps, Greenland (polar bears), Sydney Harbour, Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany, Mount Kilimanjaro (elephants), the Great Wall of China, the Egyptian pyramids, the Taj Mahal, the West and East Mitten Buttes in Arizona, islands in Fiji (my favorite since my wife and I just got back from there), Iguazu Falls in Brazil and Argentina, the Eiffel Tower, and, finally, a fireworks show at EPCOT. There are smells and scents (e.g., when you go through the African grasslands, you smell grass; when you go to India, you smell spices), water mist (e.g., when you go to the waterfalls), and the seats tilt and move to help with the flight simulation experience. The music for Soarin' was originally composed by the late legendary Jerry Goldsmith. He scored many of my favorite motion picture soundtracks like the Star Trek and Rambo movies. Soarin' is located inside the Land Pavilion in World Nature at EPCOT. Soarin' also has locations in Anaheim, Shanghai, and Tokyo. In Summer 2026, the Orlando and Anaheim rides will change from Soarin' Around the World to Soarin' Across America to celebrate the United States Semiquincentennial (250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence). I was going to skip this ride as I'm not a fan of heights and this one really picks you up and then the video makes you feel like you're flying though the sky. I've been on this once before in Disneyland when it first opened and once was enough for me. My husband really wanted to go so we went. I figure if it got that bad I could always close my eyes. We had the Premier Pass so it wasn't an issue that we wanted to go spur of the moment. We were in line with another ride and that's when he told me his favorite rides were virtual reality rides like Soarin'. The line to Soarin' wasn't long. We waited less than 15 minutes and the line moved the whole time. There was a large group in front of us so there was a little bit of confusion as they didn't all fit on one row, and at least wanted to be on at the same time so they moved them which took a little bit of time to coordinate. We rode Soarin' and it wasn't bad. I only closed my eyes a couple of times. It really is a magnificent view. My husband said it wasn't as good as the one in Disneyland. I'm glad we rode it, at least my husband can say that and not be like we should have rode it, but didn't. read more

I've never written a review for a Disney ride but over the years, whether it is Soarin' Over California or Soarin' Over the World, whether it is at Disneyland or EPCOT at Walt Disney World, it is consistently my favorite ride. My most recent time Soarin' was a week or so ago at EPCOT. I was glad to see they fixed the horribly bent top of the Eiffel Tower...but there was still something a bit wonky about it. I was happy to see Patrick Warburton still hosting the boarding video; it's been 25 years and I'm glad they haven't remade it. There's something about this ride that affects me emotionally like no other ride does. Something ethereal. Maybe it's the wind in my face or the smells or the gorgeous visuals. The grandiose music perhaps? Maybe it's just the sensation of flying through the air. It makes me feel serene, gives me a peaceful easy feeling. I love Soarin'. Unrelated rant: When did scooters overtake strollers as the menace of Disney? I swear there are more scooters out to run you over than strollers anymore. And honestly ony 10% are truly needed by people who have injuries or physical disabilities. Most are being steered by ridiculously obese folks who drive them right up to the entrance of rides or to the corn dog ordering window where they dismount and waddle along without much trouble. Soarin is one of my favorite rides at Epcot and Disney's California Adventure! Soarin' is located in the Land Pavilion at Disney World's Epcot Theme Park. It's on the first level near Living with the Land. If you purchase the multi-pass lightning lane, Soarin is a Tier I ride. You can choose between Frozen Ever After, Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, or Soarin Around the World initially with your first ride of the day out of the three rides you can reserve in-advance. The typical stand-by wait time for Soarin can range from 30 minutes to 60 minutes on a busy day. While waiting in the stand-by line, you can play a travel-themed trivia game using your mobile device! If you score a lot of points, you'll be on the score board at Soarin! Soarin Around the World is an immersive ride that simulates flying in the sky. Before going on the ride, you'll listen to a variety of safety instructions from a flight crew member! There are [3] different boarding levels, 1, 2, and 3. The 1st boarding group is the highest in the air, and the 3rd is the lowest in the air. Once you enter the ride, you'll sit down in the ride vehicle and buckle up. The ride vehicle lifts you in the air in front of a huge screen! There are elements to this ride like smell, wind, and movement. There used to be water when the whale would splash, but I'm not sure if that was removed? Some of the areas you'll visit on the ride are the Great Pyramids of Egypt, the Taj Mahal in India, Fiji's Lau Island, and so much more! The screen is massive! It's 180-degree, 80-foot Imax digital projection dome. I'm not sure if it's the same size as the Avatar ride in Animal Kingdom, but it feels similar. The music in the Soarin ride is amazing. The music and the video makes it feel like you're there, in person at all of those sites. This is a must ride for my family every time we visit Epcot! It's so much fun! read more

DISNEY WISHES EVERYONE A HAPPY JULY 4 We recently enjoyed the new Soarin' Across America ride that Disney created for our 250th anniversary celebration. Park guests swoop over a southern bayou, a lighthouse, a cattle drive and a train. HIghlights included the Statue of Liberty, the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, the Washington Mall and the Rocky Mountains. We wanted a Dole Whip after we caught the scent of pineapples as we flew over Waikiki Beach. The ride ends in a burst of fireworks over EPCOT. Not sure what the future holds for Soarin' - hopefully it will feature both the original international flyover as well as this new USA edition. read more

What a blast! One of my favorite rides at EPCOT. The line was really long but worth the wait. As you enter the dome, strapped in and lifted off the ground, legs dangling, the journey begins. The line was so long but it did worth the wait time. Epcot day ride #5: Soarin' Soarin' is always a good time! If I could have a superpower, it would be to fly, and Soarin' is the closest experience to that I've had. By no means a "thrill" ride, but it's a fun one. The added smells are always fun (wouldn't mind even more). Taking small children on this ride is the best part. It's a whole new experience to them. Watching them laugh and lift their feet up when flying over mountains / pyramids, is a blast. Luckily wait times have gone down, since it's no longer the ride in the park. This is a fun ride that gives the illusion of soaring through the air across the world. You are suspended in the air and drift through scenes and clouds as you journey around the world. It true Disney style you get to experience a lot in a short time, even getting misted when the water splashes on the screen. Soarin is located in The Land Pavilion and is one of our favorite rides, and has been since it opened! Pro tip - this is a lightning lane ride unless you want to wait 40+ minutes. We didn't have a lightning pass, so we waited. It was fine, and there is a trivia game you can play on your phone or on the screens to help pass the time. Pro tip#2 - once you get in your "boarding lanes", lane 1 is the highest in the air and 3rd is the lowest. Once on the ride, you are strapped in, and you fly through various areas and get an eagle-eye view soaring through the air. It is an eye-f ride so if you get motion sick, consider sitting this one out or keep your gaze on the side of the screen to diminish the vertigo. Way back when, the ride ended flying you through orange groves and you smelled oranges, but that is no more, and also gone is the water spray when the whale spashes, but it is still a solid ride. read more

I'm not a fan of roller coasters or heights so I was a bit trepidatious to go on this. But I enjoyed it so much I went twice in a row! There are two main sets of seats, one in front and one behind. The ride opens in the dark and the set of seats in the front goes forward and up, making room for the back row to come forward as well. This means that the initial start for the front row is a little more swooping and for this of us who don't love heights, it's a little much, since the scenery makes it look like we're flying above the earth. The back row is a bit less high and as others have remarked, you can see the feet of the front set dangling ahead of you. So for those with fears of heights, I thought it better to be in the back set because you don't go up physically as high and the feet actually help to remind me I'm on a ride. The rest of the ride is thrilling. My husband and I loved the beauty of the scenes and with just enough swooping to feel like we were flying but not to make us scared. My husband does get motion sick and two rounds in a row did make him a little queasy but not as bad as some of the 3D rides which really bother his equilibrium. read more

This is an upgrade from your typical movie theater. Once you're strapped into your seat, you're lifted up and "hang gliding" around the world to see marvels, like the Swiss Alps, Sydney Harbour, Great Wall of China, and more on a large IMAX screen. The unique part of this experience was the grassy scent. I think we were incredibly lucky to be sitting in the front. When the ride started, front seats moved towards the top. However, people in the back rows were somewhat below us, meaning our dangling feet obstructed their view and experience.  I don't think I would line up to go on this again. read more

Soarin' is located inside the Land and next to Living with the Land and other restaurants. Once you get strapped on, you go on a ride throughout California and its many landscapes and attractions. From the Golden Gate Bridge, Yosemite, downtown Los Angeles, and San Diego, you see and experience it all. This is the same ride that they have in Disneyland so if you go there often, this might be a ride you skip since it's not exclusive to Disney World. We just took the new California version of this ride at WDW in Orlando. The former version from 2005? was a trip around the world's greatest sites like the pyramids and the Great Wall. The California version shows the Golden Gate Bridge, Big Sur, Napa valley vineyards, Yosemite water fall, and downtown LA traffic at night. It's okay but not what a new ride experience could be. It seemed small compared to the old ride and dated. I suggest a new video about America's greatest sites and experiences. read more

Oneof my favorite rides at Disney California Adventure, but I've only done Soarin' California, so it was nice to see a different version of the show and Soarin' Round the World is great. It always makes me laugh when you fly over water and the scent they use to represent it is men's cologne, but it's fine. If you can swing it, the best seats in the house is the first row of the middle, so you don't have feet dangling in front of you and the image isn't distorted. I rode this twice that day and both times I was on the left, so the Eiffel Tower looked like it was bending over to the right. Still, it's always fun. Wish Disney would throw a little money into it and update the videos so we could see other global treasures, but Disney ain't about giving you the best for the money you pay. That was in Walt's day. We're in the Iger era so if they can charge you more for less, they will. read more

This was one of the best attractions I have ever experienced. You sit in a seat that is then lifted over a huge panoramic screen (think IMAX) that covers your peripheral vision. You get the feeling that you are soaring in the air over vast landscapes. I can't recommend this enough. read more

Except for the wait - line is longer than the ride (30 minute wait for a 5 minute ride) - this is an excellent ride to see the world and cool off. If you have a fear of heights, like our niece, you won't agree. The ride simulates a glider, floating high above landmarks. I love to lean forward, to try and catch the simulated breeze, and to forget it's make believe. That would terrify my niece! The staff here is friendly and professional. They wear masks, even though guests are exempt if guests have been vaccinated. We have been vaccinated since February and March. Hope all those around us who are not masked can say the same thing. The six foot rule is no longer enforced. But some plexiglass barriers remain. This is a safer place than most other public places! read more

Pretty cool 4D experience where they take you across the world and you get to fly over iconic world landmarks! There wasn't as much movement as I expected, but that helped by allowing us to take in the breathtaking sites shown on the big screen. read more

Hands down the greatest ride at Epcot in my opinion. Be sure to get on this ride early in the morning because the line tends to fill up ridiculously quick and there are usually wait times of 90 minutes and long for this spectacular ride! The ride begins with an introductory video by none other than the voice of Kronk from Emperor's New Groove. He introduces how to get on the ride and what to prepare for and to let you know that if you are afraid of heights to not ride this ride. You are then lead into a insanely massive Auditorium with three sections of ride cars with three rows each. The middle is usually the best in my opinion. Loading into the ride is rather quick and before you know it you're soaring around the world. It's amazing what Disney is capable of doing it as they lift you and suspend you in the air as you watch yourself flying through different countries. You go to the wild African Plains and see gorgeous elephants while smelling some fresh cut grass and you go to India and see the Taj Mahal as well as seeing the beautiful Eiffel Tower in France! It ends with a stunning firework display at Epcot before you are safely put back on the ground. Those are just a handful of The Gorgeous places you see some stunning scenery of during this ride! Hands down one of my most favorite Disney rides. The wait went super quickly because my friend and I were just chatting the whole time so 45 mins was nothing. Pics aren't allowed and it's no wonder, because you'd most likely drop your phone while you go soaring over the world. It's so engaging and so cool and I want to know how they make it smell in the room like the place you're soaring over. I could literally sit there and do it all day and I wish they'd make movie theaters around the country with this for discovery channel and National Geographic stuff so you could feel like you're really in those places all the time. It's an amazing experience for kids and adults and you get off the ride and immediately want to book a trip to a different country. read more

This ride proved time and time again as to how magical Disney can be. The imagineers of this ride completely blew it out of the on yet another magical and awe-inspiring ride. The ride is set in a giant auditorium with 3 rows of 3 hanging seats. There are three auditoriums so they fill in the ride very quickly, however due to the popularity this ride always has lines upward of 90 minutes or more. The ride itself is truly magical, making you feel like you were flying around the world to different countries. You visit China and the beautiful Great Wall and see people flying some amazing designed kites as well as the Egyptian pyramids where you get to see a few baby camels along the way! They truly took their time designing this ride and making you feel like you are genuinely at the country you are visiting. Another wonderful thing about this ride is they pump in scent during some of the scenes making you smell grass on the wild African plains or very fruity smell when you are visiting some gorgeous Islands! It's a great ride and always a must when visiting Epcot! read more

Kinda lame. We soared over California. I could take it or leave it. Probably would not do again.

Get there as soon as the park opens and you'll enjoy the quasi no like no wait experience for this awesome ride!! They are social distancing the lines and the ride itself has a plastic barrier every 3 seats , so it felt ok - still you are inside all the time, passage ways and hallways and the ride itself is in a big room... (see picture) so if you are sensitive to being in a closed big room with mucho many people wearing masks: not for you. This was a very cool 360 immersive jump around the world!! The chairs lift up to give you a birds eye view of the marvelous sites where they take you: truly a fun experience not to miss. We loved it. It was not like Avatar, where the twists and turns of the dragon can make you dizzy, this was much relaxed bIt's flying so once you were up, it was very enjoyable - GO Soar!!! read more

Soaring is one of the more relaxing and great ways to tour the world through the art of video. If you arrive when EPCOT opens the wait is minimal as was our case. Patrick Warburton AKA "Puddy" from the Seinfeld series gives you a briefing before you enter the ride. After taking a numbered place you walk into your assigned row to have a seat and put fasten your seat belt. Small items can be stored in the pocket near the bottom of your seat. A cast member directs you where you can safely put larger items on the floor so that you don't loose them. As soon as the ride starts a roof swings down over the entire unit to give you the sensation of hang gliding. The entire unit is lifted so you can watch an Omni max video featuring not only the 7 wonders of the world but also the great icons, frozen waters with breaching whales, the great pyramids of Egypt, the great wall of China, Sydney harbor, the south pacific and a lot more! They angle the film so at times you feel like you are "touching" water-don't worry they don't splash any on you. You can feel the coldness as you soar over icy regions. All in all the ride is gentle and more relaxing. This ride is modeled after Soaring in Disney's California Adventure and recreated here. Great ride to beat the heat.
