If you're new, head toward the weight scales in the back , before you climb the scale, a slow right to the yellow steel beam unloading area where regular folk unload their aluminium cans into one of their scale barrels.

We drove up in our sedan among trucks, trailers and towers. You saw everything from school buses, to bikes and wheelchairs and even the kitchen sink! The drive thru line was long and it's posted "no walk-ups". We waited a good 10 minutes before being instructed to walk up anyways. In the yard, we saw piles and hills of the scrap being stacked and compacted. It reminded the boys of the movie "The Brave Little Toaster", except that it was all industrial. We walked right up to the scales and put our bag down. Then we went inside to present our id to the teller. He gave us another receipt to take to the cashier. There was a bit of a line to see the cashier, and it was super hot, but it was just more for the kids to observe. The folks treated us well, maybe because they're not used to seeing families. In total, we had half a trash bag, about 10 pounds, of aluminum cans. They paid us 50¢/lb. The $5 covered the gas but the experience was pretty neat for the boys to experience first-hand the eco-concious and economic advantage to recycling!

You can go to any location through the city but make sure you have someone with you that has a ID and a light, gas or water bill in there name or they will turn you away. Get there early, wait in line and patience. The yard bin fills up pretty fast so you might have to wait about 40 minutes before they take the container to one of the major recycle plants to unload for mulch processing and return. If you have only yard waste (branches, logs, leaves) the wait will not be as long.

I used to frequent the Sunnyside center. The Kirkpatrick center isn't as up to date. But it recycles and it's there to provide a much needed service. That alone gives it value. Please sort out the items and ensure that it's all clean. The city provided recycling centers helps the Earth by reducing waste going into landfills.

I had this center bookmarked fo a while, but had waited to make a trip. They have pretty good hours Monday - Saturday. All of my recyclables this time were easy lifts, so they have a drive-thru where you stop, and somebody comes and gets everything out of the car for you. Like a grocery pickup. They just do everything while you wait in your car. They also have the ability to take larger equipment. Some of those things you have to set an appointment for and certain items have to be paid for for them to take it. It's usually a very small fee just for disposal costs and things like that. Entirely worth it for whatever it is you're trying to do. Nothing here is expensive. Highly recommend if you're looking to offload some extra stuff that you're not using anymore without just chucking it in a trash can. They also have paper recycling and shredding services available. The bay holds three cars and they have designated spots for each vehicle. You must stay in your car and let the attendants take whatever you're recycling out of your vehicle. One good thing about Stella Roberts is that they take all sorts of items/materials. On my last visit, I dropped off old electronics and cell phones. They also take the typical materials like plastic, aluminum, and paper. They accept large appliances and hazardous materials, but I believe you have to make an appointment first. You can drop off items during non-business hours. They have large bins positioned just outside of the drive thru gate for old clothes, books, and small appliances. I like to drop off old clothes and shoes here for textile recycling. I'm grateful for the bins since it's difficult for me to visit during business hours.

Stopped on a Thursday morning and the drop off wait system is confusing. There are apparently 2 lines, one for the dump waste and one for recycling. But you can't tell where one starts or ends. Drove in and was a bit confused about the process. 2 men standing outside, neither acknowledge me. I get out of the car and a young lady comes out of the building and asks to help me. I explain to her what I'm dropping off and she asks me if it works. I say yes. I said it has these burn marks on the inside (one of the caveats of this Cuisinart model was that it's difficult to remove heat or grease marks - main complaint from most consumers and there are no replacement parts) She tells me to back in and take it out of the car. As I open the trunk, the guy finally acknowledges me and asks the lady if it works. She tells him what I said. And he yells, we aren't going to take it bc it's dirty. I respond "it's not dirty, there are burn marks that you can't remove, let me show you. " He says, "we don't recycle dirty equipment". I look at the dirty washing machine he is fixing and said fine and walk off. The young lady apologizes repeatedly and suggest I give it to one of the guys waiting in the long line for the dump side. I ended up going to the Westpark location where the employees are nice and polite. Maybe he was having a bad day or deals with crap people but I didn't do anything deserve to be treated so rudely. Nevertheless, I will stick to Westpark.

Just drive up, one the employees tells you where to pull up to. You pull up they help you unload. They weigh it and about three mins later youre out the door cash in hand. Very fast, very friendly, very simple, but most importantly very fair.

I was simple calling to see if the company would take my metal and she was just being mean for no reason. When I got off the phone my 10 year said she was rude and he was playing his video game. I think this lady should be fired immediately unless you want her to keep running away business. There's no need to be rude with potential clients unless she is racist or something. I was told her name is Mel, I really hope corporate or management looks into this issue. Hopefully all calls are recorded. Call was made around 1pm - 1:30 on July 9th.
