As much as I hate seeing physical bookstores disappear, LOOK is a worthy successor, especially for Main Street Bisbee. They offer a well-curated selection of vintage merchandise that is part gallery, part home-decor store. Prices are actually really reasonable for a brick-and-mortar vintage showroom. They still seem to have plenty of space available for more artists/other to display and sell their work or cool vintage-y things. I've had my dog with me twice when I've stopped in, and they haven't minded at all :)

Too bad the owner/operator, Kara Peters, is a miserable human being. I walked in--only customer on a Thursday afternoon--and she (who turned out to be the owner-- barely looked up and said hi and not in a friendly way. I went right to the socks, and found a few that I liked. I picked up men's socks with a Foosball theme and decided to buy those for my brother. I asked about the sizes and she narrowed her eyes at me and said "what?!" I am not loud, but I do not have people struggle to understand me. I asked again and she said, "it's one size." OK. She seemed pre-occupied with going through new inventory, but ya know--having customers in the store trumps that. I saw women's undies and asked if there were other sizes, and then she got nasty. Really narrowed her cold, mean eyes then and snapped, "no, that's it!" Whoa. I put the merchandise back that I had intended to buy, and said "you are RUDE" as I walked out. I entered the adjoining store and received a friendly welcome. Turned out to be her employee, who confirmed that the rude woman is the owner.

My friend actually wanted me to be the Native American as a tribute to the movie Revenge of the Nerds and the costume that the Japanese nerd Takashi wore at the talent show near the movie's finale. FYI, Revenge of the Nerds was filmed up the road at the University of Arizona in Tucson but I don't think people would have gotten the reference to that movie. Getting into the garb provided was easy and the photo shoot took only a few minutes. The photographer will get each person into position against a backdrop of your choice and have you pose a certain way but I'm sure you can ask to get creative if you'd like. We just went with the standard poses and were photographed with a serious looking at the camera, happy looking at the camera and serious looking away from the camera look. Each cardboard frame cost $5. The older lady that owns the place reminds me of the grandma from Napoleon Dynamite. Anyway, she's no nonsense and kind of gruff if you get on her bad side. While my friend and I were putting on the costumes some guy and his girl friend were walking by and being looky loos poking their head in to see the place but not walking in. However, the guy was at the front door taking photos or a video of the inside and of the costumes we were wearing. She immediately told him "No photos!" The guy continues to keep his phone out and she comes around the counter and to the door to block him and flip him off and yells, "WHAT DID I TELL YOU?! NO PHOTOS!! GET F... OUTTA HERE!!"
