There is a different Trump banner, flag, or paraphernalia about every 10 feet and giant Trump banners on all the sides of the buildings when I say giant I'm talking 6x10. We are from California, a blue state and in the red states we aren't that popular. They even had a sign that said ... If you are riding with Biden, keep on driving! Whoa! They didn't ask us when we phoned in to make our reservation for the night. But we left in a hurry before dawn broke. I didn't go into the bathroom because my husband said they were disgusting. He said the office, when he looked in the window, was also not clean. But, the only good part was the price was not bad and we had electricity.

Carol put us in the cottage, which is a beautiful rustic Tuscan space with ample seating and a small kitchen. The cottage would be a terrific choice for someone looking for a longer term stay. While I didn't get to meet Carol, the owner, every dealing I had with her (phone, e-mail, text) was delightful. Sad to miss breakfast, but again, early meeting. I really appreciate the Summerville Chamber telling me about this downtown gem, and will absolutely be back!

You feel like royalty and are treated with the utmost respect. The hotel - is small, intimate and beautiful. It does not feel like a hotel, rather like someone's home. The rooms are beautifully decorated and you feel like you are in a different era. our room had a fireplace, huge four poster bed and a huge bath with a jacuzzi. Overall, just stunning and an experience of a lifetime. Also, in the afternoon we strolled the grounds and they brought out bikes for us to explore the neighborhood. So relaxing! The hightea and breakfast were outstanding. They think of the little things in how they present the food, which adds so much value. We had pancakes at breakfast with pecans and I can truly say that I have never had such amazing pancakes in my life. I love breakfast food and seek it out, but to this day I have not found a comparison to the pancakes at woodlands. I may go again just for the pancakes! The restaurant - it is a five star establishment and I would give it all five stars. The food is presented beautifully, tastes divine and the portion size is perfect. My husband likes various versions of mushrooms and told the chef that. He ended up getting a dish with all the different varieties. Talk about service! I loved my deconstructed ceasar salad and halibut. The dessert was so refreshing as it was a creme brullee with passion fruit. Overall, try a package if you must or just get a night to stay. You will not be disappointed. We went for my birthday/valentine and I can say it was the best birthday of my life!

The exterior is just ehh and the hallways are a bit dingy, but the lobby was brightly lit and breakfast was served daily. In our room (132? 138? Can't quite recall) our pillows were all very squishy/soft, while the beds were incredibly firm, so an odd pairing, but not intolerable. The soundproofing was incredible too; I didn't hear ANYONE the entire night despite seeing someone walk into the room on both sides of us. Only in-room flaws were in the bathroom. Our shower head had some weak water pressure, but thankfully plenty of hot water for three showers with no issue. Some of the towels had some threadbare spots and maybe should've been retired because they were getting that worn look to them. However the bedding was in great condition & so was the furniture in the room and the bathroom fixtures. Location is easy to get in and out of, and parking is ample, though the lot could be better lit. If you're traveling along 1-95 it's an easy on/off option for the night, though there's not too much in the area for a longer stay it seems.
