The counter where we picked up our rental car was slow and there were three separate lines that went to the same counter. This ended up causing a lot of confusion and frustration. The car drop-off was very easy and took only a few minutes. We got to choose from a variety of cars. The reservation matched the car that we drove off in. The car was clean and comfortable. I would rent from Alamo Rent A Car again.

When I initially received mid size SUV, the radio and screen were not functional. I believe I should have received a discount for this inconvenience, especially since the alternative vehicle was not clean/washed. However, due to my urgency, I accepted it. I also noticed that I was charged extra for fuel without my consent. I prefer to refuel the car myself and did so at the exact level that was given to me (3/4 of a tank). Despite these issues during my visit on 4/4, at the St. Mary's location, I appreciate the flexibility I was given to change my return date to a different location without extra charges. On the morning of 5/15/2025 I…read morenoticed there was tire chalk circled on part of the tire and upon further inspection saw there was a visible bubble on the tire's sidewall which poses an extreme safety threat and risk of blowout. I called their store and spoke to their manager about this. She acknowledged they had sent this car to the Firestone tire store the day prior to get fixed and that "apparently they must not have replaced the tire or addressed the issue". She told me I could bring the vehicle by their store to swap out for a different vehicle. Upon my arrival, they told me they did not have any vehicles available to swap and told me "maybe you can take it to Firestone off San Pedro to get the tire replaced" I laughed at this response and told them it's not my job nor do I have time to take THEIR vehicle to the tire shop to get a new tire installed. I emphasized how much of a safety issue this is because a tire with a bubble in its sidewall can potentially blow at any given moment without warning and cause an accident. The desk clerk doubled down he did not have any vehicle he could give me in its place and once again "take the car to Firestone and I'll try to credit you 2 days worth of the cost of rental". I again said no, this is unacceptable, and he ultimately suggested I take the car back tomorrow and try to swap it out once again. This is the worst service I've experienced renting a car especially due to the nature of the safety related issue. I would heavily advise against renting a vehicle from this establishment.
