This turned out to be so much cheaper than taking an Uber and we had the freedom to explore and go places whenever we wanted. The counter where we picked up our rental car was slow and there were three separate lines that went to the same counter. This ended up causing a lot of confusion and frustration. The car drop-off was very easy and took only a few minutes. We got to choose from a variety of cars. The reservation matched the car that we drove off in. The car was clean and comfortable. I would rent from Alamo Rent A Car again.

I arrived to pick up a full-size SUV for a trip the next day only to find that the Schertz location…read moredid not have any available. They had Jeep Grand Wagoneers on the lot but could not rent them due to a safety recall--understandable. They offered alternatives of a minivan or a large 15 passenger van; neither would work for my trip. The employee behind the counter stated he would call around and get me an acceptable vehicle. I ensured he had my phone number so he could call me and let me know when to pick up the SUV or tell me none were available. As 5:30pm approached (they close at 6:00pm) I called the location and was put on hold for 25 minutes because the location was "helping other customers" which I find to be very unlikely. The entire time on hold I was forced to listen to how Enterprise takes care of their customers and provides exceptional service. At 5:55pm I hung up. Knowing about the safety recall, did Enterprise call me to let me know no SUV was available to rent before I traveled to the Schertz location? No. Did Enterprise obtain another vehicle? No. Did I receive a call letting me know I would not be renting an SUV that day? No.

This Enterprise location has been my go-to business to rent a car for years. I live in the downtown…read morearea, so this location is super convenient for me and frankly I've always thought they have great customer service. The couple times I've rented a car from them, I've been able to go in and out of there in just a couple minutes and the staff has been amazing. However, my last experience left a little bit of a bad taste. When I got there they told me they did not have any cars (even though I had a reservation). Thankfully another customer arrived a couple minutes after me to drop off her rental, so I was able to take hers. However I had to wait for them to clean it, inspect it and put gas on the car. This whole thing put me an hour late from the reservation time I had originally requested. On top of that, they did not fill up the gas tank completely, so I still had to stop by a gas station to fill it up myself which was very annoying. More people arrived after me with reservations, and they kept telling them they had to wait at least one hour to get a car. My recommendation to everyone would be that if you need a car ASAP, this might not be the location for you. If you don't mind waiting a bit and would like to walk around the beautiful South Alamo while they get you a car, then this might be the place for you.

Despite the chaos, Alex Dolensky and Dylan Davis kept everything moving smoothly, while remaining patient and courteous. They both juggled phone calls, attended to car rentals, and welcomed each person who walked in. One of the incoming phone calls was a customer who wanted to know how to remove the keys from the ignition. Alex also calmly explained to several renters how the insurance would work in each of their cases.
