Reserved a truck the day after Christmas. Got a call right before we were supposed to pick it up that they don't actually have a truck for us. Waited 2 days to finally get it only for it to smell like someone spent a week in it smoking cigarettes one after the other with the windows rolled up. I used 1 WHOLE can of febreze, half a can of lysol, and wiped it down including vents (it was also dirty!!!) and that didn't even touch the smell. It was so bad I was getting migraines after spending 15-20 minutes in the truck. We kept the truck for 2 days because they didn't have anything else available until I couldn't stand the smell and had to exchange it for something else. What we ended up with is too small for my family to ride in together which was OK for a couple days but we seriously need something bigger!!! Getting something that will accommodate us has become a nightmare!!! I honestly don't understand how this company stays in business operating this way. It's CRAZY!!!! read more

Made arrangements for enterprise on mlk to pick me up at 1:00pm, called twice to confirm. Well, they were 1.5 hours late!! When I called, I was told "we are 15-20 minutes away"... They ended up showing up at 2:30pm! NO EXCUSE - I was told they called my "main number" to confirm, well, looking at my phone messages - no call, no messages, and no matter how many times I told them i didn't get a message, the csr insisted he did. I have a confirmed reservation I spent $65 on a Lyft to pick up my rental only to be informed industry standards allow for 40% overbooking. They do not have a car for me!! I am now stranded and have to pay $70 Lyft to return home!!! industry sucks if allowance made for people to be stranded. My transmission is being replaced so this frustration is not needed!! I reserved a car out of the New Bern Terminal. My flight was delayed and they gave away my car because I didn't call from the plane. I completely understand they need to run a business but in a small regional airport this is an issue. Please specifically read the managers response and how the made that better situation. Please- managers -respond - let upper management know how you delt with this situation. As a stock investor I recommend this is noted by Randa Duncan Williams. Short this company. I reserved a car online for my husband to pick up a car in New Bern at noon. He got a ride there and was told that there would be no cars till at least 4:30. He had no way to get back there so they told him they would pick him at at our home at 4:30. At 4:45 he called and no one answered. Finally at 5 o'clock, he got ahold of somebody and they told him that there were no cars, even though we had a confirmation number. They said they would try to find one and call us back, but nobody ever did. He called Enterprise corporate, and they were no help either. I'm not sure how they can rent a car and give you a confirmation number and then have no cars. Their online reservation system apparently does not communicate with the local offices. read more

I don't leave many reviews for companies ~ good or bad. I utilize Enterprise nearly every 2 weeks for work travel since 2019. I have never had any issue with them. If a car had a strong smell, Clay, Jennifer or someone on their team ALWAYS made an effort to correct. They can't help when customers violate their rental contracts, but they do try their best to make the corrections. They have always been able to pick me up from home and drop me back off when I'm done with my rental. Even with the challenges they face such as employee turn over they have, Covid, and lack of car availability, they still give excellent customer service. read more

Traveling in NC, driving an Enterprise rental we had picked up in Raleigh, and had an incident with a deer. On the Friday of Memorial Day weekend we pulled into the New Bern location on MLK Blvd. and met Jennifer and her team. They were extremely helpful and were able to get us into another car. I was picked up at the dealership by a most delightful young lady. We talked and laughed all the way back to the store. She was thorough going over the paperwork and the vehicle. Her young husband is a marine and she has a great attitude. I thanked them both for their service. Enterprise needs to make sure they transfer her with him. She is an asset! These people are CRIMINALS! They tried to force my wife to buy insurance after being told that our insurance company said not to buy it. They did the walk around and my wife pointed out some scratches on the bumper and the man said "Don't worry about that; if it's smaller than a golf ball you don't have to worry". She started to take pix of it but didn't. My wife turned the car in the next day - with 15 miles on it - and the same man, along with the manager said she had scratched the bumper and they were going to file a claim against her. They then brought out 3 more employees to gang up on her. I'm turning these scum over to the insurance commissioner for fraud; I know this is not the first time they've done this scam. read more

These people are sneaky and untrustworthy. I agree with other posts that they are criminals. I have been renting cars from them for 7 years and suddenly receive a letter from their corporate office that there were damages to the car I rented. I did not turn the car in with damages and I do NOT know where they came from. When asked, I got pictures yet no-one could tell me what had happened as there was not damage to a bumper or any type of panelling to the car, there was damage under the rear window wiper but again, no-one could tell me what happened. When I finally spoke with someone, I found out that the damage had already been repaired. I did not have a chance to have someone look at the damage, to see exactly how much it would cost or to see if anyone had an idea how much it would cost. Before I knew it I was sent a bill for over $800. Again, these people are untrustworthy and dishonest. I would NEVER rent from them again or recommend anyone to rent from them. read more

My car was dirty inside some red juice (I hope) there were scratches and tape marks and that was not to mention days before when I reserved a vehicle only to be called while on my way to pick it up and be told they have nothing.
