I can't Even give this place one star. I had a reservation. They couldn't pick me up. They say they're open at 8 AM. I show up and they're not staffed to be open. Told to go away for an or so. I rented the car to get to a 9am appointment. That won't be happening!!! Unfortunately this is the only rental car option on the Coronado island. read more

Small office, not much seating, just beware! Despite the cramped space though, very great location. Looks like they had a good amount of cars on site unlike most locations. I was greeted promptly by Marshall. He was busting his butt let me tell you. I pulled up, he was outside in his dress clothes washing a car to get ready for a customer. Greeted me promptly and took me inside to get situated. Processed paper work quickly, and got us into our vehicle quickly. During this time keep in mind there was a customer returning a vehicle, the office filled with other customers and phones ringing off the hook, Marshall did it all without anyone else in site and killed it! read more

The night before my car reservation, Sofie from Coronado Enterprise called me up to explain that there might be a bit of a wait the next morning as she would be the only one working and there were 20 reservations with only 2 scheduled car returns. She was calling clients to suggest they come in a bit later, to avoid a long wait. I thanked her for the heads up and so came in at her suggested time. There were five people before me when I arrived and no one at the desk, Sofie was outside washing a car down and cleaning it for the next customer. Somehow she managed to get each car ready as they came in, while continuing to check in and check out customers. In a short amount of time our cars ready. Because of her calm, reassuring and focused manner, she turned what could have been an unpleasant experience, into a smooth flow for everyone. I was very impressed with her management and her 'grace under pressure'. I have used this Coronado location several times, and each time have been impressed with the quality and care of the staff. read more

Worst.Car.Rental.Experience.Ever. I wanted to rent a car for the weekend before New Year's. We decided to go through Hotwire.com upon which we found the lowest price ($24.99) being this particular location (everywhere else was about $38-$40+). So we reserved a pick-up at the defaulted 12:00 noon time on that Saturday. My driver and I showed up at about 12:03 (the lights on Coronado are a bit long on that strip) to an employee, Marco, who said "I thought you guys weren't going to show up, I was about to close". rude. He then brought up the paperwork, and I brought out my debit card. "You don't have a credit card?" he asked. "You're going to need two bills and your most recent pay stub." WHO THE HELL CARRIES THAT ON THEIR PERSON!? I thought maybe i could go home and print out my statements and pick up a couple bills. To which he said that I could maybe pick it up at the airport location, but they wouldn't honor the $24.99 price... it'd be almost $70+. Luckily, I had my work badge, and the guy was willing to make an exception. So he escorted me to the slightly dirty car which only had a half-full tank (I'm an optimist), and rushed though the paperwork that I had to initial. Even though i waived the price of insurance online via Hotwire, he asked me, "Do you want the $24.99 coverage, or the $14 coverage? I'd do the lesser because the other is a ripoff" (either/or fallacy). So I ended up with the lower coverage, that i didn't even want in the first place. Already a bad experience. Upon returning the car on Monday right before they closed at 3, we still had 3/4 of a tank so we asked for some kind of credit or a refund. He reluctantly obliged. Then when we were doing the closing paperwork, our bill was $113.72... AFTER the $15 gas credit. My friend and I were questioning why it was so much, and Marco proceeded to explain why the charges were there, and how it's a 24 hour rental period and because we returned it at almost 3 we were charged another full day. ridiculous. After we argued for a bit, he reluctantly said he'd issue a $33 credit back on my debit card. He even scribbled a little note on the receipt which he signed: "Wed, I will refund $33.00 back to debit. - Marco" A week later, after still not receiving my refund, I called the location. Marco then directed me to call his manager at a different number because he was the one who did the refund. I called this number and asked for Joseph, but Donnie answered, and said Joe was busy, but he'd try and help. He was wondering why I was getting a refund, because Marco failed to leave a note. So I explained my situation. after putting me on hold for a few minutes, he asked what was a good number to reach me, and he'd have joe call back. 3 hours later, I called them back... and Donnie said Joe stepped out and he'd be back in an hour. AN HOUR LATER, I called Joe (which was based in National City), and said I was calling about my refund. Joe then said, "Okay, I'll take care of that for you. I've got a lot on my plate, but I'll move you to the top." Which made me ask him why is this only being taken care of now? He gave the excuse of how he is the only one who is able to do such a refund between the two locations and there was a lot to do. I STILL haven't received my refund. They have horrendous and condescending customer-service. Needless to say, I will not be doing business with them again. read more

Best car rental experience ever. Not anxious to deal with airport rental hassles I arranged to use Coronado Enterprise. They called the day prior to confirm details, picked us up at the hotel, had all the paperwork done and the car ready to go when we got to their office. We had an early flight home on our last day and Enterprise said we could just leave the car the hotel and they would pick it up. Perfect! Will definitely use them whenever we visit Coronado Island. read more

Had a great experience renting from here. Initially dropped the car off at base ops on NAS North Island after a one way rental from the airport (long story), but when I realized we would be staying another night was able to get another car and picked up on base within an hour. Carrie, the manager at the facility was great! Very helpful and understanding of my plight. Highly recommend you rent from here if you need a car staged on base for pick up. Great service from Mora and the manager (would have given 5 stars if hours of operation is better). They picked us from JRB North Island Lodging and arranged for us to drop off the rental car at San Diego airport without additional fees (this location is closed from Saturday 2:30pm till Monday). Both ladies were very compassionate and accommodating with our unique situation (flying Space-A) and made our delay over in NAS North Island a pleasant experience. The manager even went out her way and recommended places for sightseeing and dining while we were stranded in NAS North Island/San Diego. Bad hours: closes at noon on Saturdays, and closed on Sundays, which I think is bizarre for a car rental place in a tourist-y town like Coronado. Bad synchronization with Enterprise.com, as the website allowed me to reserve a car for pickup on Saturday at 12:30PM even though they are closed at that time of day. Understaffed and the one woman working there is overworked, leading to service with an attitude and poor communication with customers (no one called me or emailed about being closed). I didn't get the car I had reserved online on Friday at noon until the following Monday at 3:00PM. I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 because they recognized their error, after some prodding, and upgraded my $27.99 sedan to a $47.99 SUV. read more

Between my family and myself we have rented from this location several times throughout the years and had good experiences. But this time did not start out great at all. I made a reservation through Costco five weeks prior for a full size sedan. We flew in that morning and rented here instead of dealing with the hassle of the airport location and all the added fees. We got there a few minutes before the reservation was scheduled and were helped right away. I filled out the paper work and everything with no mention of any change with the car. We got outside and the lady (it was rather Tory or Cory) showed me three options and I looked at her and said these aren't full size cars which I had reserved. Now typically when they sell out of the car you reserve they give you a free upgrade, not in this case, they wanted to give me a downgrade at the same price. I told her that I wanted what I had reserved and she went to call the downtown location, meanwhile the manager came out and told me that was all they had and they had an old Jeep Compass that was beat up and they would give it to me for more money. She came back out and said there is nothing and the whole city is sold out, but I could try calling around and switch it out. They then had a VW Jetta pull in and she tried to BS me that that was a full size, with no other option we took the Jetta and I tried calling around. One told me they might have something that night, but they couldn't switch because it was a standard and not a full size. I told them about the experience I had in Coronado and they were shocked. I called back and talked to the same woman and told her I was told the Jetta was not a full size which I knew, but she did whatever she could to try to prove me wrong. It was all very unethical. Between her and the manager I felt like I was dealing with a sleazy used car lot. I told her how disappointing the whole experience was and that's not how you should treat a customer and I wanted a free upgrade because of all this. This was on Friday and she said we will see what we can do on Monday when we get more cars back. That night we had gone to dinner at the brigantine next door and when we left we walked by and saw there was a full size car and a convertible sitting on their lot. Furious that they didn't call me before they closed to come switch the car out I went in first thing the next morning. Saturday morning rolled around and I was there the second they opened and there were different people working. I talked to Elizabeth and told her what happened and she apologized and told me to pull the car onto the lot. When I went back in she was helping someone else and another man walked in (I didn't catch his name) and she told him to switch the cars and give me the Ford Mustang Convertible at the same price (this car is typically at least double the price). He got it all done very quickly and efficiently and apologized also for how we were treated the day before. I also had used a quarter of gas in the first car and they told me not to worry about it and also told me to bring the mustang back with less gas than was originally in it. That Wednesday morning I dropped the car off and Elizabeth was there again. She had apologized again for what had happened on Friday with her coworkers. Elizabeth was very professional and the only way I would rent from this location again is if she is helping me with the rental. If I hadn't had the experience we had the first day I would have given this review five stars. read more
