Today for the 1st time we went to the Raleigh Farmers Market and was absolutely shocked at their offerings. All the vendors are eager to serve and please so, we loaded up on fruits and vegetables. I'm so happy I'm back to my normal diet. From this day forward I will always support the local farmers and never again buy fruits and vegetables from the grocery store.

Visited recently late on a Sunday ( maybe an hour before they closed) Great location with plenty of parking. Besides fresh produce, it also has fresh fish, a seafood restaurant, and a few other specialty shops. Open 7 days a week, I would go all the time if I lived in the area. But like most farmer's markets, "most" prices are no cheaper than your local grocery store, but the selecatiosn here are great. Espeially now in the Fall with tiomns of pumpkins & gourds, Saw stands with huige selections of plants & shrubs for home gardens & landscaping. Bought some fresh NC corn & honey. One stand had a HUGE selection of almost every pepper I ever heard off. Cant wait to go back. ( no pets!)

I frequent the farmers market here in Raleigh, and would easily say I am there at least 4 times per…read moremonth. This past week I visited Roberts Family Farm to buy pecans. I bought pecans that had been cracked but not shelled, and was told that the bags were 5 pounds each, this year's crop. The gentleman waiting on my helped me gave me the alternatives of buying shelled, cracked, or in shell, and assured me I was getting the best deal at 5 lbs for $28, so I purchased. Since I bought more than one bag, I kept thinking that they should be heavier, so upon arriving home, I proceeded to weigh each bag. None were more than 2 lb. 10 oz each. They were also old, not this year's crop. I returned to the market today and in a very kind way inquired about the shortage. The same gentleman waited on me again and denied even waiting on me earlier in the week. No apology, no offer to make things right. I am sorry to see this kind of thing going on here at our farmers market. Most of the vendors I have dealt with over the years would have at least made an effort to make it right. This will be my last transaction with this farm.
