I was invited by Love Popups London to try out the new Project D.I.V.A room at Escape Rooms' Angel…read morelocation. This room is set in the future. On Mars! And, of course, there's a rogue computer AI system that is trying to kill humanity. Fun times! The reception room is a bit on the small side, but there are toilets available and ample seating, and you won't wait for very long, as long as you're on time. After a short briefing, we were handed three smartphones with custom apps that are necessary to solve this escape room, as well as the standard puzzle room issue walkie talkie and pad of paper. This was promising to be fun already as we were told there would be no padlocks, but a linear story to work through. I love immersive escape rooms like that! While running around finding random codes and clues is all fun and games, a realistic experience is absolutely fantastic. And no spaceship would have a number padlock which is opened with a code found through a chess game. Without giving away too much about the room, this one is really well done! The first room is dark, full of electronic devices and futuristic lighting. It's unfortunately a bit on the small side with devices on the floor, so not suitable for a wheelchair. The first clues and codes were deciphered quickly and upon solving them, drawers slid out of walls and hidden doors opened. Everything is automated and I absolutely loved it. The riddles and codes all made a certain amount of sense for the setting, the smartphone apps were exciting to work with and it all felt very immersive and interactive.  Later on in the game, there are secret passages and lasers and a whole lot of other exciting challenges! You definitely need to be comfortable in confined spaces and like working with interactive technology, then this game will be an absolute delight! The only negative points I can find are that you also need to be able bodied, or at least have several able bodied people on your team, and the room is incredibly dark with no torches provided, so sight impairments might be an issue as well; unfortunately accessibility tends not to be a huge consideration for immersive rooms in this industry.  The other point is that the computer voice is very quiet and we couldn't understand what she was saying, it didn't seem important though, as we still managed to escape with 18 minutes to spare!  Other than that, it was one of my all time favourite rooms! Definitely not for beginners, but those with a few escape rooms under their belt will love this one!

Wow what can I say but last night I played Project D.I.V.A. which I was transported to the future…read moreto a space station set in Mars. It was up to me and my team (Love Pop ups London) to destroy a corrupt D.I.V.A (Defence Interactive Virtual Assistant) whom sent us a cryptic message warning us of immediate death to all humanity. Us agents had to intercept ER-27, get on board and destroy D.I.V.A and regain control of the station by infiltrating her core and removing her 4 hard drives to disable her. I loved this room with it's high tech technology gadgets and the puzzles. Most puzzles involve lots of numerical coding so if you love codes and maths you'll love this. I would most certainly recommend this room but highly recommend 4 or more players. This is now one of my top 5 greatest escape rooms.

The…read moreroom's premise is quite simple, the Professor has been trying to create artificial life, but just as he was close to a breakthrough, he has gone missing. We have one hour to unravel the mystery of what happened to him. The room itself has a very steampunk feel to it, which is really well done with lots of details and decorations. It's a bit dark in the beginning, as finding the light source is part of the game, but once you've gotten past this first hurdle, it's a quite well lit room with lots to discover. The storyline is very linear with lots of hints and instructions built into the room itself, which makes it very suitable for beginners, younger players, or couples. Children from 12 years are allowed to play this room without adult supervision, and it would definitely be solvable for a group of teenagers. So many different puzzles, riddles and clever machinery are part of this room, we didn't feel bored or stuck for a second and blasted through the plot in just 34 minutes. As all four of us have played A LOT of escape rooms though, we didn't think it was too easy at all. As experienced players I would just recommend having less players on your team. An experienced couple will likely get a good 45+ minutes out of this gorgeous room. The props and decorations all looked really well done, well placed, and within theme. A very solid room that was a lot of fun to play! I just wish there was a little more to do so we could have stayed in it longer as it was just so enjoyable!

I entered to find a really…read morecool foyer with a map wall, fun props and simple puzzles inspired by Da Vinci's inventions which you can play with. I quite liked that you can start with those to mentally get ready while you wait. The person who worked there was very nice and answered all our questions with a smile. He introduced us to the game in which we would be finding the Holy Grail by solving puzzles set up by 'Da Vinci' himself. The puzzles were really inventive and I won't spoil it, but one moment in the game feels like magic. I have done a bunch of the escape games in London, but the challenges in this one felt fresh and fun and there was some real originality. I found the room challenges to be fairly straightforward and clear and the Da Vinci theme was well-done. We only asked for one hint and finished with 11 minutes to spare, so I think the difficulty level was perfect for us. I particularly liked the physical games just because they were quite fun, but all of them were good and there was a fair amount of all types of puzzles. Love Popups London gave me the opportunity to try this game and I definitely got lucky, it was one of the best in London that I have tried! The production values were excellent and the problems were varied and fun to solve. I would definitely recommend this game!

I didn't consider it might actually be a teeny bit scary until I arrived and it sunk in that I would effectively be trapped in a room, duh! Luckily, I am not claustrophobic, and the room was a decent size anyway so I had nothing to be concerned about. Excitement and adrenaline took over as the clock started and I was searching for clues. The theme was Prison Break so we had to work as a team to break out of prison within 60 minutes. I found it really fun and it is so clever how it all fits together and leads to the escape! So creative and surprising. When I visited, we had a large group and so split into 2 teams and went head to head to see who could escape their room first. Unfortunately my team did not win but it spurred us on when we heard the cheers of our competitors break free! We were able to escape before our time was up, with 9 minutes left on the clock! The time goes so quickly as you frantically try to crack the clues. It is a great team building opportunity and would work well for a work event or a birthday or hen do etc, but who needs a reason! I would definitely recommend Fox in a Box, as the staff were so friendly and gave a very clear briefing before we entered the room and were happy to take snaps of us when we finally escaped. Make sure you beat the clock though or you end up on the wall of shame in the entrance way! At the moment there are 3 different escape rooms here, so I can't wait to go back and tackle the other rooms.

This was my 1st time in a place like this but my daughters have done many of these things. They say it's the first science fiction based room... Relatively good condition with game components/ puzzle components that seem to work okay. Not quite the clarity or connective synergy between elements... It's a bit more sequential than having puzzle elements to engage many people simultaneously. My daughters gave it a 70% rating... On a 1 to 10 .... I will pump that up to a four-star rating. Personally, I'm not as much of a critic. I thought it was just fine.

Our Sherlock Holmes game time was 5:30pm. It was more difficult than we thought but had fun. Some of the clues were a little hard and we needed several hints. For this visit we got to check out two of their three escape rooms.. Escape the Seven Seas and also Taken. Both of these rooms provide a totally different experience and I would definitely be interested in coming back to do the witchcraft and wizardry one too. As a group of experienced players we still found the clues both challenging and fun to complete.. Kris our games master was on hard to provide help if we needed it.. As the competitive streak within all of us we wanted to see if we could get on the leaders board.. So close yet so far!! 46mins for the escape the Seven Seas and Taken in 35 mins.. Would definitely recommend a visit especially for a big group as you can all tackle a different room to share your experiences.

Both rooms were very well designed with lots of puzzles and challenges in them. I have more elaborate reviews on my blog, but for this platform I will stick with brevity. Seven Seas has a pirate theme in which our team had to escape from prison cells, find the captain's chamber, discover the treasure and then flee before being discovered by the pirates. The room is unfortunately very dimly lit, which makes using the combination locks quite challenging, but the challenges in the room itself are really well done and so much fun to work on. In Taken, we had to rescue our friend "Bob" from the clutches of a serial killer. Again, the room is really well designed and super fun to work through. Some of the gimmicks were outstanding, other could do with being polished up a bit. Taken is definitely a more streamlined and high-pressure room, while Seven Seas is more immersive and sticks to its theme with fierce dedication, but both were a lot of fun to play. A very enjoyable experience, I definitely recommend this escape room company, they know what they're doing!

Located in an abandoned train station that was also used as an air raid shelter the building itself has an old eerie feel to it. The old brick work and dark rooms definitely adds the the ambience. There are three different rooms here. Two have jump scares which may turn some people off (or some people will love it). We went out and attacked the passenger room it with a group of three. The puzzles were understandable and in working order. There was a good deal of effort put into the atmosphere of the place which was really great. I don't want to give away too much but I can say it was a well planned room with working parts. While the puzzles themselves were medium difficulty, doing it under the pressure being scared made them a bit harder. Overall, very good experience. We would definitely go back for more. Its rare you find rooms that are so immersive with such attention paid to the setting.

Things that could improve: - A lot of the rooms are really dark and it can be hard to see. - There are portions where one person goes off to a different part of the game and you have to listen to them yell instructions back, but the background music is so loud, it's really difficult to hear them. - If you can't seem to solve a puzzle, we found they just gave us the answer instead of giving us smaller clues and letting us figure it out. All in all, we had fun. It's one of the better escape rooms.
