Might've been those legends that were breaking in the Cottages. A nearby group hit a hole in one on the fourth hole! And by hole in one I mean they got it relatively close to the pin but not close enough to make birdie. But the celebration was fun to watch! Again might've been those Cottages legends. Later in the round, Jimi saw a gentleman "Happy Gilmore" swing a drive well over 200 yards. Actually ran into this legend post round at Hagen's and found out he's a 2 handicap. In that he has not one but two physical handicaps that make him suck at golf. The round was going great until some corporate big shot I presume took a work call on the 13th tee box causing a logjam. I overheard him scream "Tanjit we are not aligned!" Then he threw the phone down in anger and topped his tee shot. But even this couldn't take away from a memorable round at the Don Ross! 5 stars

I geared up durning the predawn hours with a little warm up and driving range. And then properly equipped after a stop at the club house I assaulted the course. I was happy to find I was first on and all alone and quickly found my groove. The course was neat, well maintained and with the exception of the first hole all grounds team quickly stood aside as I played thru. Unfortunately at hole one the guy waited for me to show up then proceeded to place the flag and groom the hole. Had to wait for 10 min while he took his time. Otherwise it was peaceful and a great time. Hole by hole I conquered the excitement and adventure Using my tradecraft and long honed skill of well placed mulligans i finished with 3 over. (Probably more like 9 if I am honest). Mission accomplished. Thanks French lick!!

The new West Baden Billiard and Bowling Pavilion provided such a great time for my family!…read more We call from our rooms to make sure there were some free bowling lanes, and we were able to get two: one for the adults and one for the kids. And for the kids, these new lanes have bumpers at the push of a button. The pavilion has an antique feel to it, and as such, you have to keep track of your score via ye ol' scorecards and little pencils, but that's part of the charm. And then after our games -- you rent lanes by the hour, and they will turn them off when you're time's up -- we got pizzas. These are the super doughy kind, which I love. The bar had a great selection of beer and drinks, and after my sister offered to start heading back to our rooms with the kids, the rest of the adults stuck around for an additional drink. (We totally owe her one!) The West Baden Billiard and Bowling Pavilion is a must if we come back to West Baden!

It's like golf, but you play by kicking soccer balls around a course into large holes. It's way more fun than golf, in my opinion, especially for kids. The footgolf course will have you walking about a mile as you travel to each of the 14 holes on the course. The golf course is beautiful, so along the way you'll see lots of pretty trees, cross over a bridge and other things. One session took us about an hour, but if your aim is better than ours, I'm sure you can get through it quicker. Paying for a footgolf session means that you can play multiple times -- your pass is good for the whole day. This is a great deal, especially if you're staying at the resort. You can play, go get some lunch, then play again at your leisure.

This park is…read morelocated a couple of minutes from French Lick Resort, so it's a good option if you're looking for a playground and you're staying at the resort. I like vintage things, so aesthetically, the playground here is right up my alley. The playground equipment looks like it was plopped onto the grounds in the early 1980s and hasn't been touched since. The playground equipment is all metal, with tall twisty slides, a cage-looking area, metal poles and a metal merry-go-round. The ground is sandy. My kids spent the majority of the time spinning on the merry-go-round. Literally, that's all there is to this playground, so your enjoyment might vary depending on how quickly your children tire of playing with a few old metal things. This park looks like it's built vertically, so if you climb up a little hill, you'll see a baseball field and some other things. Parking is almost nonexistent for the playground: just drive to where the road stops and pull over on the side of the road.

The entrance is located on a hill and has parking, a basketball court, and a concession stand nearby. At the base of the hill, several baseball fields and a playground are located. The ball fields look to be in good condition. So does the playground, but it lacked any type of protective surface to keep kids dry and safe. It appears to be just a dirt (not even grass) play area which was dry during my visit. There were a couple roads that lead down to the ballfields and playground, but parking was limited other than along the roadside. Not an ideal layout for anyone who wants to use the concession stand or paved parking up above. Review #2666

Fenced in with only one entrance, making it easier to monitor more than one child. We went on a Friday afternoon and almost had the place to ourselves! Even when there were some other children around, there's plenty of room for lots of people to play. ONLY 2 COMPLAINTS: no water fountains ANYWHERE. Thankfully, I had read some previous reviews so I was equipped with a cooler full of water bottles for the kids, on this 90 plus degree day. AND for the time of day that we were there, (1:30-4:00pm) with so few people, it was surprising to find the restrooms with no toilet paper in ANY stall, and nothing to dry your hands after washing. Even still, I would take the kids back to this playground again and again. It's a bit of a drive for us, but the children loved it!
