My wife and I had been wanting a Generac stand-by generator system for years. As we got older that…read morewant morphed into a need. Shane (owner of Mac's Wired) did some electrical work for my son on his new home a few hundred feet down the road from us. I went over to ask Shane about a Generac system, as he is a licensed Generac installer. Shane was more than helpful and a week later we set up a "walk through" to assess our exact needs. Based on Shane's expert advice we settled on a 26KW unit to power our home and sizeable workshop. The process couldn't have been easier. In addition to a very detailed itemized price list, Shane took care of all the permits and inspections with the county, power company and propane company contacts. The equipment was initially slow in coming due to a heavy demand nationwide, but Shane kept us informed weekly of the equipment progress. Finally on that wonderful day he and his outstanding crew showed up right on time and set to work immediately. By noon the generator was in place and hooked up to our electric panel. Shane had already scheduled the final inspection by the county and we were set within a few days. Our new underground propane tank came within a day or two and once hooked up, the Generac performed flawlessly. In addition to our generator Shane and crew needed to correct subpar wiring installed by a previous owner that was NOT up to code. Shane's rapport with the inspector in this matter was great and it was obvious by the way they interacted that the inspector was well acquainted with and respected Shane's high caliber work. Shane was very thorough explaining how the entire system works and about how every generator he installs is monitored 24/7 by him personally. If there's ever a problem he gets an immediate alert and he's on it. A few months later I needed ethernet cable pulled from my garage panel out to my aforementioned shop. Shane, although very busy with a backlog of much bigger jobs, still found time to come back and install the ethernet cable at a very reasonable cost. And now we're penciled in for a few ceiling fans in the future. To sum up, you'd be hard pressed to find a better electrician and crew to handle any electrical project or problem you might have. My sister rents from me, and her hot water heater went out, I contacted Mr. Jernigan about…read morerepairing it, he said he could come immediately, but I waited and he did not show up, I called, he had come but was on the wrong road, so he came back, was there about 15 min, came to my house, and wanted 45.00 for today he said, and asked for my email so he could bill me for the rest, which turned out to be 450.00 for a total of 485.00 which I thought was extremely high, and the fact that he wanted it up front, bothered me and my sister very much, however, I ended up paying him, in advance, but he did not do the work he said he was going to do, at all, in fact he did something very dangerous, and illegal, he wired the hot water heater into the dryer, and told my sister to not use both at one time, Ha......How on earth can that be managed? But that is exactly what he did, and when I found out about it, I called my son in law, who told me I had been ripped off indeed, I asked Jernigan for my money back, he got in the truck and left, NO HOT WATER STILL. I called the credit card company and cancelled the transaction, he was there a total of 15 min the first time, and about an hour the second time, and did not in any way fix the problem.
