I want to start by giving credit where it is due: my initial experience with Macario Brothers was very good. The quality of the service when I first began using them was strong, and I was initially pleased with the work they provided.
Unfortunately, that was not my experience as time went on. In my opinion, the quality of service declined significantly over the course of our relationship. What began as a company I was happy with eventually became service I was consistently dissatisfied with.
On July 18, 2026, Macario Brothers performed what became my final lawn service. The original mowing charge on Invoice #85919 was $65.
Approximately two hours after that service, I canceled future service and wrote to the company:
"I will no longer be using your services. Please take me off your schedule. Service has been subpar at best."
I did not pay that invoice. Over the following weeks, additional fees were added while the balance remained unpaid. Macario Brothers maintains that those fees were assessed pursuant to the Terms and Conditions I accepted when approving my original quote.
During our later correspondence, the company also explained that my July 18 message was treated as a cancellation request rather than a formal request for correction under its Mowing Service Satisfaction Clause because I did not specifically identify a deficiency with that particular service or request a correction or management evaluation.
I acknowledge both of those points because I want this review to accurately represent what happened and the company's position.
I also acknowledge that I did not respond to the subsequent invoice notifications during the following weeks. That does not change the fact that my dissatisfaction with the company's service existed on July 18 and was the reason I canceled that same day.
When I later formally addressed the dispute with management, I attempted to resolve the matter directly. Despite my dissatisfaction with the service, I offered to pay the original $65 service charge as a compromise if Macario Brothers would waive the accumulated fees and consider the account resolved in full.
Macario Brothers declined that offer.
The company maintained that the outstanding balance and applicable fees remained due and informed me that the account was approaching the next stage of its collections process.
To be fair, management responded extensively once I formally challenged the balance. They provided documentation, explained their interpretation of the Terms and Conditions, and explained the basis they believe supports the fees. My criticism is not that they failed to respond.
My criticism is the overall customer experience.
Macario Brothers states here on its Yelp profile that what sets the company apart is its "passion to provide the best customer service to our clients."
Unfortunately, that was not my experience by the end of my relationship with the company.
I went from being genuinely pleased with their initial work to being dissatisfied enough with the quality of service that I canceled approximately two hours after my final service and explicitly described their service as "subpar at best." The situation ultimately developed into a dispute centered on complaint procedures, payment terms, accumulated fees, and collections.
Macario Brothers has every right to rely on the Terms and Conditions it believes govern the account. I have every right, as a former customer, to evaluate whether the experience I received lived up to the level of customer service the company advertises.
In my experience, it did not.
My advice to prospective customers is simple: carefully read the Terms and Conditions, particularly the complaint procedure, payment requirements, and late-fee schedule. If you are dissatisfied with a service, document each specific issue immediately, take photographs, explicitly dispute the service or invoice in writing, and follow the company's correction procedure rather than simply canceling as I did.
My experience with Macario Brothers started very well and ended very poorly. Based on the deterioration in service I experienced and how the situation ultimately unfolded, I would not hire Macario Brothers again and cannot recommend them.
