My best friend used to live on the Gold Coast, and now she's in the states and I'm here. We switched places, keeping balance in the world (yep, it relied soley on the two of us). She knew I was moving and didn't want to send me a birthday gift - so she booked me into the spa for a massage :) I have the best friend, really.
She had been here a few times and considers it a haven. I have only had a few massages in my time, so I don't expect much. The spa was clean, and it was nice. I thought that the girl at the desk could have been a bit more friendly, but she wasn't rude or anything. She offered me tea, which was just a tiny paper cup of tea which coincidentally wasn't even warm - kind of a bummer. It's those little things that kind of make a "spa" experience versus just going for a massage somewhere in my opinion.
My masseuse was nice, I checked off having some conversation during my massage and I think she did a great job of finding the right about of "chatty".
I had the deep tissue massage, and it was really good. Personally, I don't treat myself to a massage unless I've been going to yoga a lot and have knots that I really should go get worked out, that being said if I do get back into yoga up in Brisbane I might check out the Endota in The Valley :) read more
