I bought a gift card on Tuesday for $325 for a spa day at Tina's for my wife. That night, she said,…read more"Oh, I've been there before. It's old and funky and not a spa experience." So Wednesday morning, I called Tina's to ask for a refund for the gift card. I explained that it was never used and that we decided to go somewhere else. Edward, who answered the phone said, "We can't give refunds for gift cards." So I went to Square's website where I actually bought the card (linked from Tina's site). Their rep told me that Tina's could, in fact, issue a refund for a gift card and even gave me a link to share with them: https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/6168-refund-to-gift-card-in-the-square-point-of-sale-app. I called Edward back and tried to share the link. He said, "The owner knows how to use the Square app." So I asked him to have the owner call me. Later that day (yesterday), someone named Alicia (not the owner) called and told me, " We don't give refunds for gift cards." I explained that I just bought it yesterday and it had never been used and I offered to give her the link to the refund instructions. She refused and got hostile with me telling me they have to pay $8 for each gift card issued. I told her I would be happy to reimburse them for the $8 if I can get my $325 back. Then, I asked to speak to the owner, Tina, and was told she would not be available until after Easter. I'm sharing this story because I've been in business for 30+ years and I would never treat anyone like this. If a customers asks for a refund and I have not yet delivered any product or service to them, they are entitled to that refund. And telling them, "that's our policy" wouldn't cut it!

Okay, so my husband got this for me for Mother's Day. Let me say this place is so professional and…read moreaccommodating! I had an amazing experience! The massage was exceptional ! I had never been so relaxed, and the facial was amazing!!! Gosh I would so go again!!! ONLY THING, I did not enjoy much of the manicure i received. The woman was lovely we had a good conversation, but the manicure itself wasn't good. She had just started and had trouble with the manicure itself... I just expected more for the package I received. Other than that wonderful!!! I'd definitely come again for the massage and facial!

I have been to this spa a few times before and actually had enjoyed it in the past, but this last…read moretime was truly a display of this spas lack of professionalism. 1)Firstly, I had a gift card to use and tried to find their services on-line to no avail. Later, I found out this was because their web-site was being re-done. This was weeks ago, and web site was still not up and running to date! 2) couldn't find their phone number either, so went thru the hotel to get it. These aren't that big of a deal, but I wish I'd heeded it as a warning sign for things to come. I was trying to book services for myself and for a girlfriend of mine visiting from out of town, and bc we had no services to look at, we did so on the phone not really knowing what was all entailed. The girl on the phone was not great help either as she seemed disinterested or annoyed that I didn't know what I wanted to do. Hard to know what to book for when I don't know what you offer! ;) 3) So we finally booked services a WEEK prior to the appt and got a phone call the night before ( around 8pm, which I thought was a little odd being so late) to confirm our 2 pm appt the next day, which is fine, all good. We had planned a day around the services as a girls day out. I am a mother of a toddler and NEVER get to go out and be spoiled. My husband is a stage four melanoma fighter and needless to say I am frazzled and was in great need of some pampering. 4) the day of our services I get a phone call at NOON saying that we need to come in at 1pm as they had a "scheduling issue". So we had an hour to hustle and get there meaning we had to forgo all our other plans ( lunch, etc). 5) NO APOLOGY was given- (and that's the big one for me...) 6) BUT attitude WAS given to me in strides the minute they sensed my unhappiness about the situation, like it was somehow my fault that THEY screwed up. 7) it screwed up our WHOLE day and my one and only chance to get some pampering as we wEre going to go to lunch first then go to the spa. Now we had to eat and run just to get there in time. Once we got there, I had calmed down enough to try to enjoy the massage, but found out because I was sneezing they wouldn't give me a massage that day. I understand that part ( as they were worried I was contagious and I am a germ freak myself) but how they handled the situation AFTER that was also poor in my opinion. 8) They were highly unsympathetic and told me to come back another day and/or to give my gift card to someone else. I live 3000 miles away from anyone I know, I am basically by myself and don't get these opportunities like normal people do. They also said I could spend the 110$ gift card on THEIR beauty products ( how nice for them!) as they don't offer refunds. I am not really inclined to want to come back after the way they treated us today and would like my money refunded back to my brother who gave me the gift card as a birthday present and as a way for me to de-stress due to all the major stressors in my life right now. 9) I should also mention that they kept calling my friends house to make this change in appts even tho she was staying with me at my house for her vacation. She lives in CANADA and her husband had told them several times NOT to call that number to get a hold of her in the previous days, but rather to call my number here in Beaumont to confirm these appointments! Someone sure doesn't know what they are doing at Getaway Spa! In summary, the Getaway Spa only added much much more stress and took away my one opportunity to have a nice day out! They could have rectified the situation if they had only apologized for their screw up and didn't give me attitude like it was my fault. I am quite reasonable and understand how horrible the customer service industry can be as I worked several years in it, but this was truly a big mess up on their end! And after finding out they wouldn't massage me bc they feared I had a head cold (it could have just been allergies, but I get their point of view on that issue) and hearing of my predicament they could/should have just given my brother a refund! What a waste! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! And this was the MANAGER of the spa that I was dealing with! Save your money for somewhere else as they don't have it together at this place!

I explained what I wanted at least 3 times. I hate having to repeat myself when trying to receive a luxury service and felt they kept trying to upsell me by confusing me on purpose. It was like they couldn't understand what I was saying. The pedicurist was rough with my nails digging under them with too much pressure. She didn't apologize when I said "ow ow ow!!!" Halfway through she asked if I wanted my eyebrows done. No.... That wasn't a service I requested And that's rude to ask. Lol At some point during my manicurist putting gel on my nails, a random employee who was not previously working with me, came up behind me, grabbed my hand, and physically moved it under the light. She then proceeded to explain how it works to dry your polish. I know this. I had accidentally turned on the light twice and didn't want to keep my hand under there for longer than needed when my nails were already dry. Maybe don't touch and move your customers around. Very strange. Checking out was odd as they showed me a screen that asked me to input my own services into it in order to check out and ring myself up essentially which was confusing. I tried to tip 18% but the machine wouldn't let me. They messed around with it for a second and got it fixed but just out of frustration I lowered the tip to 15%. Overall felt rushed and confused, there's a heavy language barrier. The environment was clean though.
