Well, this project was so well planned and easy to execute that my daughter's turned our looking fabulous! Later, family members had difficulty determining whom had made which. I stumbled into Happy Hour Homemaker by chance on a Wednesday. They share a space with Rocky Mountain Balloons (Three women owners - what what!!). The front of her shop has a nice array of local gifts to buy. Some are sourced from other makers, a lot are made by her. They are often her tutorial piece from a class that she has taught. The bulk of what Happy Hour Homemaker does is custom works or DIY classes. She teaches guests how to create their own signs. Be it for your own business, your home, your office, as a gift - - there are so many possibilities. You can do an individual appointment or have her host a party (some day - when we're allowed to gather again). She also does DIY gift packs. She creates the beautiful wood pieces and sends you home with signs, paint, brushes and instructions. When I was there, she was working on some really cute Christmas kits. I believe she also has a vinyl printer and can print a custom sticker for your sign (but double check with the business)

I scored a good deal on Groupon, picked up a bottle of wine, and we headed to the studio on a Friday night. We got to use the airbrush and even spray paint on our master pieces this time. And, as always, Alex made the night fun, engaging, and creative, and we all ended up with a great painting of happy little trees to take home and brag about. Now, can I remember everything we did? Paint, scavenger hunt, paint, view a couple short videos of Alex's work (amazing), paint, roof view of Boise and foothills, paint, and adding a layer to the splatter paint room. Bring plenty of wine because it's going to be a long, fun evening.

I've a much better understanding of how to correctly use my new camera, and I keep practicing to put my new knowledge to better use. I hope to one day take the analog course and delve back into actual film! But wait, there is more. Not only can you do photography here, you can also take art painting lessons, and summer camps for kids are also available. Heidi also does an introductory course using Adobe's Lightroom for editing your digital photos. The theater program has really unlocked her love for performing, and her piano teacher has shown her how to be creative and truly enjoy making music. My son has taken part in the youth orchestra, where he plays the cello. The instructor is so passionate and makes sure each child has the chance to shine. He is also studying piano, and his teacher's thoughtful approach has helped him progress to more advanced pieces with confidence. Encore Creative Center offers such a warm and inspiring environment. The teachers really care about the students and make learning both fun and rewarding.
