They constantly seem to turn their face or say nothing when students are assaulted. This lack of care by them results in more violent actions (just read recent comments). My child has been punched and I've been called and told that it's no problem and that the student that hit my child is actually in more pain because of the way they hit my child or that my should have not been near the situation so he wouldn't have gotten hit. Since when is a victim the aggressor? Seems wise to teach this. Recently, my child was choked in class and when the teacher was informed of the situation, nothing was done. This is the constant theme at Woodlake. If you care for your child's safety, it's best to take them to a school that will prioritize providing them a safe learning environment.

My 8-year-old nephew has experienced repeated physical bullying on campus, including being slapped and pushed, primarily during lunch and after-school/dismissal. Our family has reported these incidents and asked for meaningful intervention, but we have not seen effective action to stop the behavior, hold the offenders accountable, or prevent it from continuing. A school should be a place where children feel safe and protected, especially during unstructured times like lunch and dismissal when supervision matters most. Right now, we do not feel the school is taking the necessary steps to ensure a safe environment. We are asking Woodlake to implement clear, consistent measures immediately--stronger supervision in the areas where incidents are happening, a written safety plan for affected students, and prompt follow-through when physical aggression occurs. No child should have to worry about being hurt at school.

The Good -- The PTA. It's improved. A lot. It's now run by a responsible group that is really committed to raising funds and implementing quality programs for the kids. The Mediocre -- The parents. With the exception of a few, the parent involvement is pretty lame. Same group of parents that volunteer at every event. The BAD -- The Principal. One of the worst I've ever seen. She attempts to run the school like a military base. She has her sights set on climbing the LAUSD ladder and, clearly, every decision she makes is geared toward furthering her personal goals as opposed to creating a nurturing, fun, inspiring environment for the kids. My students are high learners, high achievers and don't miss school straight A's. They know Spanish their givers their bright they listen they are wonderful children, but they did not get accepted. No, I'm not rich but education should be for all. It shouldn't be because you don't have millions of dollars that your child cannot be accepted. The school is a great I believe learning foundation for the children. Everyone seems to grow in prosper at the school and that's one of the reasons why I wanted my children to attend such a lovely prestigious school like Ciara, but I'm going to tell you if you are not rich, they will not accept your children.
