The food is mostly pretty good, but... If you ever watched a 1960s movie involving a high-end hotel restaurant... this place tries to bring that back.  With dark wood paneling, fresh flowers, custom engraved flatware, dome-covered dishes, linen napkins with sewn button-hole, whisper quiet with no music despite main train station traffic visible through the windows. Unfortunately, the attempt is unsuccessful.  Several problems slowly emerge, starting with the black tape repairing the hole in the carpet almost in front of the main entrance. "That is such a small detail!" "No. There are no small details." The servers seemed competent, but I was there for lunch, with barely 20% occupancy. The food itself was not too bad, but minor problems bothered me - such as the dried "fresh" bread served with the meal.  Maybe I can remedy that using the salt and pepper shakers placed at each table. It is unfortunate that a restaurant with such an obvious rich history appears to have been squandered.  I'll visit again in a few years... maybe. 2024 03 25. M0.

I had to ask the only person in the room if I was in the right place. I sat in the terrasse and enjoyed an amazing lunch. The service. From that point picked up and was super attentive. They do not rush you so don't be surprised if your order isn't taken quickly. I noticed this too with all the locals dining there too. I would come back because this restaurant exudes class taste and civility in the middle of a bustling city.

I asked the waiter for his favorite and it was really good, blood pudding with potatoes and applesauce . . . so I went back the next night and got his next favorite which was also delightful, a lovely piece of beef in a sweet sour gravy with potato balls (very unique and lovely) and of course KOLSCH. Good times surly fun waiters.

Very good food, but the most crapy and most arrogant service in greater Cologne area.read more

We of course ordered Kölsch, which they bring around to drop off full glasses as soon as you finish the last sip of your previous glass. I ordered a dish from their seasonal asparagus menu, which was very tasty. The schnitzel was fried well without being too dry and the asparagus was huge, but still delicious. My bf got the Jägerschnitzel mit Pommes frites. The fries were crispy and the mushroom sauce was a great addition. Our server was very friendly and kind and we really enjoyed our meal here!

They come in different colors and I went with pink, which turned out to be grapefruit. Kölsch is from Cologne. Each glass of Mühlen Kölsch beer is .2 liters and they keep bringing and marking on the coaster as to how many drinks were had. We didn't partake in food, but I saw the portions are sizable.
