I had her redesign our wedding set, because we had "obtained" a bigger center stone, and I wasn't going to trust Zales to do it. So Elizabeth sat with us, and she did a great job showing me what my marquise would look like in a bezel setting. She was patient and understanding. She had sent me a "video" of the wax casting with my stone in it, so I could get a full visual on our design. Picked up the finished ring today, (see picture below) and I almost cried... it was beautiful, the new diamond shines, and sparkles.... It is a beautiful ring, and I am so happy I found Elizabeth. I found EMS here on Yelp while looking for a company to appraise my jewelry for insurance purposes. I met with Elizabeth (owner), and from the minute we met, I knew I would be well taken care of. She took great care in examining and appraising my rings, even noting a couple of spots needing repair before losing diamonds! I felt she was very fair and honest in her appraisals. My insurance company is very satisfied with her reports. I also felt her cost was on par with the industry. As I felt very comfortable with Elizabeth and EMS, I decided to leave several of my pieces for cleaning and repair and also scheduled a meeting with her and my mother. My pieces came back looking gorgeous! Her meeting with my mother consisted of her evaluating a large selection of jewelry that she inherited from my grandmother as well as appraising an inherited large coin collection. Elizabeth brought in a trusted colleague to evaluate the coins while she appraised the jewelry. My mother also found Elizabeth to be extremely professional, knowledgable and a joy to work with. No "sales" pitch or pushing for more services needed makes the office environment relaxed and a pleasure to be in. Her colleague treated Mom fairly and she got a very good price for her coins. I've been going back and forth with my decision to write a review regarding my experience with EMS Estates and even with the amount of time that has passed it still leaves me with an awful feeling. First I'd like to say that Elizabeth is a very nice lady and seems very competent in her field. I had a lovely diamond wedding set I had decided to sell. I met with Elizabeth and she agreed to help me sell the ring. After my initial appointment with her, I stopped into the gold/diamond buyer in the same building as her just to see what he would offer, he offered me $1200 for the set right then. I decided to still go with Elizabeth because of the wording on her website that said she works hard to get top dollar because she's working for a percentage. That made sense so I continued with the consignment, this was in October of 2015. I didn't receive any information regarding the sale until I emailed her in January 2016. She said she was going to run a special on diamonds in February and if it didn't sell then we should take the stones out and sell everything separately which was fine with me. I heard nothing until June 2016 when I received a check in the mail for $550. I was shocked. No paperwork came with it showing the final sale price or showing that she took the contracted percentage of the sale but I know there's nothing I can do at this point. Like I said Elizabeth is a very nice lady and I would go to her definitely for an appraisal but looking back now I should have just sold it to the gold buyer instead of consigning, was a gamble I took and it wasn't a winning one for me. read more
