(Please read my review on google)..... Elizabeth is awesome.... She is so helpful, honest and just a great gal. I had her redesign our wedding set, because we had "obtained" a bigger center stone, and I wasn't going to trust Zales to do it. So Elizabeth sat with us, and she did a great job showing me what my marquise would look like in a bezel setting. She was patient and understanding. She had sent me a "video" of the wax casting with my stone in it, so I could get a full visual on our design. Picked up the finished ring today, (see picture below) and I almost cried... it was beautiful, the new diamond shines, and sparkles.... It is a beautiful ring, and I am so happy I found Elizabeth. I will always look to her for any of my jewelry/appraisal needs. Elizabeth you rock..... :) read more

I found EMS here on Yelp while looking for a company to appraise my jewelry for insurance purposes. I met with Elizabeth (owner), and from the minute we met, I knew I would be well taken care of. She took great care in examining and appraising my rings, even noting a couple of spots needing repair before losing diamonds! I felt she was very fair and honest in her appraisals. My insurance company is very satisfied with her reports. I also felt her cost was on par with the industry. As I felt very comfortable with Elizabeth and EMS, I decided to leave several of my pieces for cleaning and repair and also scheduled a meeting with her and my mother. My pieces came back looking gorgeous! Her meeting with my mother consisted of her evaluating a large selection of jewelry that she inherited from my grandmother as well as appraising an inherited large coin collection. Elizabeth brought in a trusted colleague to evaluate the coins while she appraised the jewelry. My mother also found Elizabeth to be extremely professional, knowledgable and a joy to work with. No "sales" pitch or pushing for more services needed makes the office environment relaxed and a pleasure to be in. Her colleague treated Mom fairly and she got a very good price for her coins. An added bonus is all of the sparklies in her office for sale! I will ONLY use Elizabeth and EMS Estates from here on out for appraisals and repairs. read more

I purchased a beautiful diamond and ruby ring from Elizabeth that I first found on her Etsy site. Once I realized she has a small shop in Portland, I emailed her. She responded immediately. Elizabeth was generous with her time, her knowledge, and honesty. I immediately trusted her expertise - never felt rushed or pressured to purchase, which in the end I did with a great amount of confidence. I am a purveyor of jewelry, quite experienced actually at buying and have a vast collection. Elizabeth was a stand-out experience and I will definitely continue to do business with her. Her pricing for very unique and quality pieces I found to be more than fair and competitive. read more

EMS Estates - 2.21 TCW diamond and ruby engagement ring paired with my existing diamond/ruby band and solid white gold band to complete the set. - Appraisal Services Near Me - Portland, Oregon

I've been going back and forth with my decision to write a review regarding my experience with EMS Estates and even with the amount of time that has passed it still leaves me with an awful feeling. First I'd like to say that Elizabeth is a very nice lady and seems very competent in her field. I had a lovely diamond wedding set I had decided to sell. I met with Elizabeth and she agreed to help me sell the ring. After my initial appointment with her, I stopped into the gold/diamond buyer in the same building as her just to see what he would offer, he offered me $1200 for the set right then. I decided to still go with Elizabeth because of the wording on her website that said she works hard to get top dollar because she's working for a percentage. That made sense so I continued with the consignment, this was in October of 2015. I didn't receive any information regarding the sale until I emailed her in January 2016. She said she was going to run a special on diamonds in February and if it didn't sell then we should take the stones out and sell everything separately which was fine with me. I heard nothing until June 2016 when I received a check in the mail for $550. I was shocked. No paperwork came with it showing the final sale price or showing that she took the contracted percentage of the sale but I know there's nothing I can do at this point. Like I said Elizabeth is a very nice lady and I would go to her definitely for an appraisal but looking back now I should have just sold it to the gold buyer instead of consigning, was a gamble I took and it wasn't a winning one for me. read more

Elizabeth at EMS Estates is incredible. I'd been holding on to a ring from a-err- former situation, not sure what to do with it for years and not only did Elizabeth sell it for me, she took care to make sure I was completely educated about the process and felt comfortable throughout. She updated me regularly as to where we were. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and will absolutely use her services again. read more

I contacted Elizabeth at EMS Estates for an appraisal for a divorce. It was a raw time, and Elizabeth was kind and empathetic while maintaining a professional approach to the appraisal. She explained the different kinds of appraisal, from liquidation value to replacement value, and worked with me to properly appraise the items for a divorce settlement. Elizabeth and her team were able to complete the appraisal quickly, and then explained the appraisal report in clear terms. EMS Estates is a great company and highly recommended. read more

I asked Elizabeth at EMS Estates to sell an antique brooch for me. Several other people said it was "un-sellable" as it wasn't in fashion any longer. Elizabeth found a buyer and did what others said was impossible - she sold it and got a decent price for it. Throughout the process, Elizabeth stayed in touch, letting me know what was going on. I highly recommend EMS Estates for both appraisal work as well as selling your jewelry. She also has a great selection of pieces to sell in her lovely shop. read more
