Val conducted a BWRT session the day before my MRI and the change was astounding. I was calm driving to the site, going through registration, changing into the gown and walking up to the MRI. When I first called her for a phone introduction and assessment I had two specific things I wanted to address: some private issues and a very unhealthy dose of low self-esteem, in addition to the certainty I wouldn't last in treatment because I've always had a hard time sticking around therapy. Fast forward six months and I count the days to my next appointment with her, I feel confident and mentally stronger, and I've learned amazing techniques to cope with my main underlying issue. It's work in progress but she makes me never want to stop working on myself. What I love about Laura's approach (and mind you I've worked with at least 5 therapists along life so I've experienced all sorts of personalities and techniques ) is how she challenges my pre-conceived negative and unhealthy beliefs about myself and situations. In a way that ALWAYS sends me home thinking "mmmm for 36 years I've believed this to be the absolute truth but maybe it's not". She pokes my thoughts. And I absolutely love it.
