He's beginning to overcome textural hang ups, pickiness, chewing/swallowing struggles, etc. We still aren't there, but we are getting closer to being a better, more well rounded eater. We are pleased with the therapy itself but the front desk here sucks. There's almost never anyone here and frankly they've been downright rude to me when I've had questions in the past. One of the girls even hung up on my husband when I asked her if she would be willing to talk to him so he could explain some insurance/scheduling issues with her. He was very respectful but she simply didn't want to listen or deal with the issue. Zero class! We aren't demanding or unreasonable people at all so that type of rudeness is completely unacceptable. I wish they would invest more in finding good office staff that can be present there during regular office hours and can deal with issues appropriately and respectfully.

Got told just today that he never has had a urology exam done since he got there a week ago and so they don't actually have any way of knowing does he still need the Foley catheter which was placed at the hospital or not. Cannot talk to a doctor. Doctor did not come to the care conference on Monday. I was told by the nurse today that he/she probably should have. Nurse's name is Justine and she has been great with providing information and taking down notes and is nice to speak to. I also very much enjoyed meeting Melody the speech therapist and another person named Danielle. Have been enjoying the food, drinks and furniture and the TV. Patients do not get to choose which food they get but they do get to choose which drinks do they get with which meal. The food is usually very nice. Have especially enjoyed the waffles and oatmeal with brown sugar. For breakfast one morning. That was great. The magazines are also interesting, entertaining and fun. They even brought my father a Sudoku puzzle book so he can do his typical favorite type of puzzles while he is there. All of this is great. However. I am getting a little concerned about the quality of actual medical care and have yet to get to speak to a doctor from there at all. I am hoping that the nurse will at least leave the doctor a message please and thanks. I know that it is a rehab center but they still can do medical care. They also are claiming habitually and consistently that they cannot bring in any medical specialists from outside and I am not even sure if it is true. Online information indicates that yes, some rehab centers generally can. This one says that they cannot. Did not say why in any detail. Cheryl the British lady at the front desk spoke to me a few times and I also like her a lot so far so kudos to her. Other front desk ladies including Jessica were at least okay I guess so far. Would like to see improvement in the quality of medical care and in consultations with the care team as far as at least being more readily available to speak to more often or something of that interesting sort. She took before and after photos or my posture / body / even my face to show me how off kilter I was - the after photos were astonishing ! My body has been kind of a mess for a while due to some accidents and injuries - I have seen so many people from acupuncturists, Rolfers, massage therapists, ect - and she knew right away my issues as soon as I walked in. I was lost because I never mention anything. Kelly said "this happened long time ago" I told her about my car accidents when I was 16-18yrs old, I'm also 28yrs now. She took pictures of my stands and body and showed me all my trouble areas before she started to work on me. In less than 30 minutes she was able to relax all my muscles. This is so hard to explain but before arriving to Kelly a lot of emotional stresses build up. Kelly was able to tell me I had a lot of angry emotions store in my body and put light pressure Kelly called it "this is your Joy" and asked how my chest felt. In a few seconds I felt my chest open up, didn't feel angry no more I honestly almost teared up. Just GO see her!
