I…read morehaven't seen a possum up close and personal and I very much admire any animal that hisses as a greeting and plays dead when it's done with being social or perceives a threat. I also went on Instagram and discovered this place has lots of really really cute funky items. So we came in here one weekday afternoon, and that was immediately surprised by how big the place was and how welcoming they were to my pug. Maybe this is because they had their own store pug named Biscuit. We spent a great deal of time walking or maybe running cause I have a toddler. It's two levels of art, jewelry, books and various possum themed items (not everything was possum themed). They actually have a pretty good selection of kids items, including books and stuffed animals and toys. And I came in here thinking I was going to get something that was possum themed but to be totally cliché as a mom we ended up getting a dinosaur egg that my toddler was enthralled by and the owner pointed out a massive stuffed animal T-Rex so I got that. We got to meet the bearded dragon, pug and tarantula. The namesake possum napped and hissed when approached so I was cool with admiring from a distance. So if you are in Fredericksburg and love fun eclectic shops, stop in. Double check their hours on social media (I think it's Thursday-Sunday 12-5pm) . For $100, I left with an incredible folk art diorama ($40), 3 small folk art prints ($3 each), a new handmade boutique quality country chic shawl, a cute ceramic dish shaped like eyeglasses (to hold your glasses), and 2 handmade soaps. That is really incredible. I often leave stores like this empty handed because they are so overpriced, but this was definitely worth my time. The ladies working there were also the sweetest!
