Went to New Hartford Eye Associates for new glasses was tested, paid for glasses. When they…read morearrived...the prescription was SO weak it made no difference, so they retested my eyes and got it right, but now they want me to pay for the correct lenses for another $65. If they mess up...you pay the difference. Avoid, you'd do better getting your glasses at the mall.

I've been coming to New Hartford Eye Associates since 2016ish. I've seen several optometrists, a…read moreplethora of glasses consultants, and been helped by numerous front desk personnel. Good: Everyone is nice, and everyone is good at their jobs. They have the best selection of high end frames in the area (which means they do NOT have the best selection to affordable anything). The lenses are soooo much more durable and higher quality in general. Do NOT think that buying glasses off Warby Parker is going to give you the same experience. It won't. Bad: they don't make the glasses in-house, so sometimes they can take a while to receive. 2020-2022 were particularly bad for supply chain issues, so reviews you read during this time period are reflective of that delay. It also took longer to get an appointment during this time. They cater to luxury over affordability, which is great for me, but means that sometimes I get my prescription from them and order glasses and lenses online (although I inevitably regret this choice every time because the quality is so much worse). This place is the epitome of you get what you pay for.

Definitely not right for me. Front of the store wasn't too bad, but one very sassy boi was very rude and dismissive. When I went back to get my glasses refitted it took a very long time to get anyone to help me. If you're not spending money at the time of your visit, they don't seem to want you around, regardless if it's part of the services offered.

I politely mentioned that I knew because someone had called me earlier the same day. Which was no problem except her approach, I went to sit in the waiting area and the same lady does my pre-test. I had never had anyone ask me the 20/100 letters and I've been getting my eyes done for 20 years. Again all of this is fine and I just go along. She said I was all done and I simply got up and was going to say thank you on the way out, but the second I got up I got another snarky ( you're welcome) I didn't even stand up fully at this point and was kind of shocked. People are allowed to have bad days but customers who are kind and respectful shouldn't be spoken to this way. The lady with the long black hair and cat eye glasses your customer service was horrid today:(

The women in Reception are always efficient and pleasant. After that is when the trouble starts. I have had to sit and wait between 40min - 1hr every single time. Following that, various petite women, wearing no identification, bring me to a dark room and perform a few simple tests. They type a lot and say the Dr will be in soon. The Dr arrives about 1hr past appointment time. I've had all 3 Drs: Grant, Smajkan, and Avdic. They don't wear identification either, and spend most of the time typing. Smajkan talks the least. Only Avdic ever gave me new and solid information. Afterwards at check-out, you get NO paper record describing the visit, findings, or which doctor it was. So take a card so you can remember. I've given an average raring of 3 stars. I'd recommend that new appts be made with Dr Avdic and that you do NOT arrive early. Be prepared to spend 90min here, to see the Dr for 5min. Be prepared to leave with no treatment, yet a followup appointment. When you are checking out, try asking for a printout summary of the visit. I have suggested ways that the office could communicate schedule delays to the clients. Send a text! Put up boards with "Dr is behind by X minutes." Automation makes such communication effortless! It Can Be Done. The first step is Caring to see the size of the problem. As customer-clients, DO tell the staff if you were left waiting longer than 10 minutes.
