My prescription is very high. It took 3 times to get it right. Brooke was very helpful and understanding. Things were finally resolved about a month ago. Unfortunately, the armature that holds the nosepads on snapped. The frames are discontinued, and I didn't purchase a warranty. I was never told about any warranty, or I definitely would have purchased it since I paid out of pocket. I'm told they can't do anything to help me, and now I'm out $400. I'm disappointed to say the least. read more

She definitely had my best interest in mind, when she told me after my exam, "I must tell you, that you're only going to get just a very slight increase in vision, so consider that in deciding whether to buy new glasses or not. We have been coming to Vision Works in Oneonta, NY for many years. One particular female employee (the one that lives in Jefferson) has some issues, she is also the oldest person there currently. Told me the lenses I wanted weren't covered by my insurance and that I couldn't bring in my own frames. Thank goodness I had another appointment and couldn't order my glasses that day as the next weekend when my husband had his exam I was able to order my glasses and explained to the younger women what happened the prior week. I was able to get the lenses I wanted and could have used the frames I brought in. This women is a control freak and would gate keep the PD (thankful there was a law that was made). She needs to step off that high horse and do her job CORRECTLY and not lie - as that is her way of being vindictive. Everyone else was perfect, love the no dilate eye exams. read more

ZERO STARS....ZERO. Horrible, horrible, horrible. Be prepared to wait EVERY SINGLE TIME from 1-3 hours, if you're lucky. They tell you your glasses will be ready a certain date and it's always delayed. They say they call and leave messages, yet they don't. Patient flow is a JOKE! They have the Dr in 10-15 min time slots and she should be in 30 min slots. Don't vocalize your complaints or concerns to the "office manager" named "Jewels" because she'll meet your suggestions & concerns with condescension, arrogance, and grandeur. Meanwhile every single person is b#tching about the same darn thing. I am listening right now to another patient wanting to "blow the place up" because service is so poor. Unacceptable. I've been to many Visionworks centers in both New York and New Jersey, but this is by far the worst one I've ever been to. Staff is discourteous towards patients and they overbook their appointments to the point where sometimes there is no seating available. I have to always expect a 30 minute wait at the very least. My younger brother waited THREE HOURS once for a simple eye exam. I ordered my contacts from here over 10 business days ago and I'm still waiting. I paid extra money to have them shipped to my house. When I asked them to track my order the manager told me to track it myself. I commented it really shouldn't be my responsibility to track them if they were the ones to lose the order. He told me to call corporate if I had a complaint and hung up on me. After this, I take my business to another company than ever set foot in another Visionworks. This eye center has lost 3 loyal customers because of their poor service. read more

My 82yr old mother was 10min. late for her appt. due to traffic and was told she would have to reschedule. I worked in the medical field and I have never heard of making a patient reschedule for being 10min. late! Really unacceptable and poor customer/patient care. Will never return there. Really inconsiderate patient care. I would give less than 1 star if possible. read more

Great experience. Walked in with a prescription from my doctor. Waited about half an hour but expected that as a sale was running. Wendy was very nice and amazing at helping me find just the right frames! She took her time and I didn't feel rushed or pressured. I was told 10 days for the finished glasses. 7 days later I received a text that my glasses were ready. Wendy helped me again and made sure the glasses sat perfectly on my nose and was a perfectionist about the fit. I'm so happy with the service AND the lenses are fabulous. read more

Dont go to Empire Visionworks Southside Mall Oneonta Ny. No stars again for this Yelp. The Manger Chris is rude , unprofessional over books appointments and you wait and wait. Jewels is just as bad the assist mgr. Then she asks you to give her a rating with Corporate. Well here it is. The manager puts out the customer volume Empire wants but at the cost of your time waiting and putting up with Chris. Last month 3.5 hours waiting with my son I gave them another chance with my daughter and im sorry I did ...only after I complained when I was there last month with my son did they expidited our appointment or I would still be sitting there. The manager Chris wears shirts with food stains and white sweat stains on it ..the shirt is black. Shoes with toe holds and no soles. He is a disgrace ,,clean up ..your suppose to be pro ...wow! But he is in charge so he can get sarcastic and snooty and all we can do is Yelp it and complain to coporate. 21 days ago on August 1,2017 we paid for my daughters contacts and still we are still waiting for delivery. In the mean time they gave my daughter temporay Contacts in her eyes only recommended for 7 days. You think Management would recognize there us a shipping issue and tell her to return to the store for a change of Temporary Contacts if they really knew what they are doing or cared. But no ...because Chris and Empire only care about taking your order. After that your out the door and out of luck. Called the store today explained myself to Joan the old lady working there she told me last week that there out for delivery , now wanted me to go track the order I told her no you track it thats the least you can do. An hour later still no call back from Joan. Thats what they are paid for its not up to the customer after calling and complaining to be told that your the one who should track the delivery. I called back got manager Chris on the phone...and of course sarcastic and rude. Told me to wait they are busy. WAIT? I am done waiting ...I told Chris Im calling Corporate ..he told me go ahead and hung up on me. I was told ...after calling Empire Vision Works Corperate Headquarters and they called the Oneonta store and got the tracking number that the Contact Lenses are out for delivery today. Chris the manager wanted the Corporate Rep. to track the order ...he was to busy...do you believe that? The manager tells Coporate to track it omg ! So Corporate did. Thank you. Go to Walmart ....or another Empire Vision Works . Please believe me ...its so frustrating that he gets away with being abusive with customers ...dresses like a slob...has no concern about you only the numbers he can do in one day. We had an appointment within a couple of weeks. The appointment was on time, efficient and professional. The eyeglasses were ready within a couple of days as promised (astigmatism lenses in stock). The customer service phone line is answered quickly, with knowledgeable and friendly personnel. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family. I scheduled an appointment for 9:30 for myself and 9:45 for my husband we arrived at 9:15 so we were on time. Someone else arrived for a 10:30 appointment and said they were in town early could they get in before their scheduled time. I live 30 minutes from this store so I too was in town early and only for this appointment. Needless to say the staff put the other gentleman before 2 scheduled appointments with both patients sitting there waiting. This was so unprofessional and I doubt we will continue being seen here. I did not get into my 9:30 appointment until 10:03 and only after my husband said something about it being so far past our scheduled times. read more
