They have the best gluten free yum cha I've ever seen available in the world. There were a number of different options and the service was great. I really loved the dumplings. Great casual dinner place just off of Chapel St. Antiques…read moreare everywhere so it's really quirky. Variety of tables to sit at if you don't mind sitting in odd positions whilst eating (or drinking). As vegetarians (but we do eat fish) the menu is good and all serves off 3 can be made into 4 with the dumplings. My favorite was the Har Gow and it's a good size and prawn is whole as opposed to mince. Really liked all the dishes, which included prawn, crab and scallop dumplings and scallop dumplings. We've been here in groups before and everyone has enjoyed it. Good value too and it's BYO. Menu is not massive which I like as don't get overwhelmed with choice and I like it when kitchens focus on fewer items. I give it 4 stars in this casual dining price bracket. I would recommend if you haven't been as will go back when I have my next dumpling craving.

Of the two Thai restaurants in Boronia, Siam Terrace is definitely the 'fancy' one…read more This does not mean it's the best one, however if your planning on a romantic dinner for two, and enjoy a touch of style and a little inner city vibe to help your food go down, I suggest you try it. In a slick surrounding and with staff that know that good service means a lot, Siam Terrace serves up some damn fine fare any night of the week. Good for group bookings, (book in advance); Siam Terrace does a great range of Thai cuisines, and caters to the vegetarian of the group with ease. Try the pumpkin fritters as an entree for a coconut infused snack to warm the belly up before the main event. I enjoy the cashew nut stir-fry, with mixed vegetables and tofu for a main, or any of the curries on offer. Siam terrace also delivers to the local area for no charge if your order is over $25. They also deliver beer by the 6 pack, saving you a trip to the bottle shop.

The only thing I come here for, and will continue to do, are the chips. As a potato freak, I've tried and never repeated ordering the potato cakes, as they were soggy and drowned in chicken salt, however the simple chip is where this place had me. I would often grab a large bag, to ensure my order was cooked fresh, and found them to be fantastic. On a recent trip there I got my usual order of fried potato, and must say that they'd slipped a little in terms of flavour, crunch and freshness. Whether it was a bad day or new management, I've jumped ship and taken my business to the Fish & Chip shop over the road of late.

I had a mixed berry smoothie and my homie had a long black. He mentioned his long black was taller than expected and aight but the smoothie was where it's at. The smoothie was super solid clean tasting but rich in texture from the various fruit and giving each fruit the time to shine. My only qualm with the smoothie was the size which while cheap at 8.95 aud was super small like kids size at Jamba Juice and I wish it was bigger but I guess you're paying for the quality instead of quantity so semi understandable. Would consider it if I pass by on the way to the dfo or AAMI park to shoot the yarn with the old teammates but that's it not exactly sticking with me to make this apart of the rotation of yet.

Eh. I'm glad this isn't what Vietnamese noodles are usually like…read more.. It is cheap at Tran Tran, but that was all I liked. The food was so bland. When a noodle soup comes out that quickly, there's no way it was made fresh. The vegetables tasted like they were frozen and then just added to some canned broth and heated up. The décor is quite odd. Doesn't really feel like it should be a Vietnamese noodle shop. At first I thought it was nice; very light and airy, clean, interesting artwork. Well, when you're facing the 'lighted' artwork, you begin to wish for sunnies...at night. It's just too bright and too white. And the service. Ouch. It was busy the night I went, on a Friday night. But as the restaurant is clearing out, and the line waiting for tables is gone, I couldn't get anybody's attention for a long time. We got our food quickly, but were never again offered refills of drinks, or anything else. I had to flag down (after multiple tries) someone working across the restaurant who just happened to look my way, to get a refill on my water. Lots of other places to try, so doubt I'll be heading back here.

Anything from stirfrys to curries to tofu, the place is popular amongst the locals and you will be back for me. The funniest thing i have seen, at a few occasions when we have been here, there has been a birthday surprise that's come out and the birthday person in question gets a plate with a banana standing up with two scope of ice-cream beside the banana with a giant sparkler coming out of the top of the banana....
