We usually go to the Hell's Kitchen location just because there's more room to sit. However we were in the Times Square area and wanted a quick bite before going to a show and this location was perfect! Super friendly and accomodating service. And as always the star of the show-the empanadas- were delicious! Huge and packed with flavorful ingredients.

Got myself 2 empanadas - I have to say I like the corn one better. Next time I might try the baked ones. The wheat ones were a bit greasy for my taste. But man, were they both tasty and super filling. Next time I might just get one, and then complement it with a salad or soup. The place was really conveniently located clean and had just enough seating to not get it too crowded. I was able to sit right there and have my meal. The service is great too. They're really lovely people behind the counter and the food came out promptly. I think it's gonna be my new go to when I maybe want to substitute a quick pizza for an empanada. I paid less than $10 for both empanadas and I can tell you it was a pretty filling meal.

I went here during the day which wasn't crowded, but I can totally imagine this place being crowded during the nights. It would definitely make a great late night meal. You just order through the kiosk in the front. There is barely any seating inside. This place is more grab and go. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken & Jerk & Cheese empanadas which were both tasty and savory. I preferred the jerk & cheese over the buffalo chicken because it was more moist and cheesy. I enjoyed the green sauce a lot with the empanadas. The postobon manzana soda went well with the empanadas and was refreshing.

One word. BOMB . Was visiting and lil bro had these waiting my arrival after a long flight and workday. First time trying this place and it was amazing. I had two of the seafood stuffed empanadas (real shrimp, imitation crab, in a light cream sauce) and they were hot, lightly fried, not too heavy but the perfect snack with the salsas to accompany. I liked mixing the red salsa and the green initially but the red is a bit more classic and on the vinegar side. Green much milder. Looking forward to trying other options from the menu during my next trip or so.

Cheeseburger empanada was meh. Didn't feel like it had much seasoning or flavor and the crust would've been crunchier. Easy pass next time I want an empanada.

    Fat empanadas! So yummy!

Grab and go location. But THE BEST location of empanada mama because the empanadas are FAT, THICK and worth the buck! Every time, it's always big empanadas compared to the ones in HK! Look!

We're very loyal customers to empanada mamas and have frequent most of their locations. There's no comparison to other places. Our favorite is the Viagra which is filled with tiger prawns and imitation crab meat. We usually order boxes of 10 because it's cheaper but you can only pick 1 flavor. Order online and you get 20% off.

Empanada mama has over forty flavors of Empanadas and it was so hard choosing one they all sounded so good. I ended up ordering the oxtail one. I ordered from the kiosk and waited in the small shop. They have a few stools around the perimeter but they were taken. This location in times square is open late so if you're looking for a late night snack definitely the place. The oxtail was cooked to perfection with all the right flavors shining through. The crust of the Empanadas were savory and flaky.

This is a grab & go place. Unless you're fortunate to get a seat out of 4 seats inside the place. They do have a lot of options from meat/ veggies/ fried and baked empanadas. I decided to try the Bourbon Chicken and it was filled from the first and last bite. For a cup of coffee ( cafe con leche) and a empanada you can't go wrong. Fresh made !! They will make it right on the spot. It's fresh and really hot! This one is located next to the Times Square Subway station. I added a picture for reference. If you ask the employees they will walk you through the options and help make a decision.

Wanted something cheap and good and this spot came up on Yelp. Got the jerk chicken and buffalo chicken empanadas. Both were bomb. Service was good. Great for quick/cheap eats.

Wow. Best empanadas ever. Definitely worth the money. These things are packed. The flavor is amazing and great combos. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

Stopped by to grab some empanadas. Got two wheat flour ones, El Jefe and Jerk & Cheese. It took some time for the order to be ready but both were stuffed with meat and cheese. Enjoyed both the green and red sauce that came with it as well. Recommend if you're craving empanadas!

Ordered off the kiosk, so didn't speak to any of the workers. The place was clean and had a bar to sit at if you wanted but we grabbed it and took it back to our hotel up the block. My sister and I got a cheeseburger one and a bourbon chicken one. Both were great. They are really thick and the flavor is in every bite. I will try and stop by again before my days are up in NYC.

(This replaces a review I posted mistakenly for an Arepa Express in New Jersey yesterday.)…read more Deli Arepa Express, a Colombian food truck parked on 46th St. near Fifth Ave. (a.k.a Little Brazil) on weekdays, is popular among both Colombianos and non-paisas -- and it's not hard to see why. The food is fabulous! Pros: - Colombian style arepas (very different from Venezuelan arepas) can be ordered with either sweet corn or white corn masa, which came beautifully griddled and generously filled in my case with stretchy white queso. - Colombian empanadas, a personal favorite, are made with corn masa, beautifully fried to a crisp (but remarkably not at all greasy) and probably gluten free. The beef and potato filling we chose was moist and very nicely seasoned. - Papas rellenas were crisp on the outside, creamy on the inside, and came filled with tender, juicy, well seasoned shredded chicken and hardboiled egg. - The truck sets up tables and chairs in the somewhat sheltered area on the road between Deli Arepa Express and the next food truck down, for those who want to dig in immediately. It's surprisingly nice for literally on-the-street dining. - The business accepts credit cards and staff are very patient and kind. Cons: - Be prepared to wait. And wait. And wait. I killed some time by walking a few doors down to Pavé, standing in the long line of folks there, and picking up a baguette for my family. (The bread there is excellent.) When I returned to the truck, my food was not yet ready, so I killed some more time by popping into the dollar store like place across from the truck, browsing the surprisingly comprehensive selection of spices, and picking up some annatto / achiote, which we've been using in homemade sazón. My food was still not ready despite the fact that 2/3 of the items ordered (the empanadas and papas rellenas) were pre-prepared and sitting in the hot case. Luckily it was a nice day to queue and I enjoyed talking to other customers in line, almost all of Latine, if not Colombian, descent. - I almost never check my to-go bags, but thankfully did this time after walking about a block, since the bag felt suspiciously light. My order was missing two items. The folks at the truck remedied the issue, but caveat emptor here. It seems that the food can come with a generous sprinkle of chaos! Am I coming back? Absolutely -- but maybe at an off hour next time.

I was walking midtown and a guy hands me a card anouncing  'Deli Arepa Express'  so I think why…read morenot.  I expected a Deli store and I see a big food cart instead.   They sell Arepa sandwishes , Empanadas, hot dogs, coffee and small bite size breads along with other items.   I saw Chicharron, on the menu only it's in a Arepa with Queso,  a combo I never had, but I guess it's time for something new even if in the past I found Arepa to be dull and plain for me.   Well they added avocado and onions to my Arepa with special mayo saurce and I got a Manzana (Apple) soda too.   The Chicharron Y Queso Arepa Was very testy and the the Aprea was made with sweet Maza and grilled, so it was not dull at all. The only drawback was the  Chicharron was on the dry side and so more chewy but it still had the fried pork belly taste anyway, maybe next time I go for the Chorizo.
