Once we attended her office and gave her 2000 dollars in cash everything changed. We had to wait over a month to get them back and the vehicles are still not due back until the tenth of this month. The police also took thousands of dollars in our property that was not logged in due process. We are trying to fight to find out where the property is and yet we are still to be informed of its location. Mrs Moore informed us that there was pretty much nothing we could do about the property and that we should "pick our battles" and just let it go. We are talking about thousands of dollars of property including a iMac computer belongings of all my children personal photographs electronics clothing etc etc. she seems to think that she would convince us to not Persue the property and even though the police did not follow the law in terms of handling our belongings and log every item they took she claims there is nothing we can do. I informed Cathryn that after she finished what she was paid to do with getting the vehicles back she would no longer be required to assist us due to lack of competence. She then emailed my wife saying that she would not finish the case as she had been fired and told her that we would need another lawyer to complete the case. She was told that her services were no longer required AFTER she completed the case and since she was paid already for the job she was to do that implication should have been apparent. The vehicles were taken from our home by police and due to that my business has suffered dramatically and Mrs Moore did nothing to fight for us to get vehicles back with out having to pay to have them returned . She did absolutely the bare minimum like send a few emails and now refuses to complete her job that she was already paid to do in cash. Given the circumstances of what we have been through and the amount of money we have already lost and that she is fully aware we have lost her actions are despicable! We have a 6 month old baby here and two other children and she knows full well the financial struggles we face to support this family already and she showed absolutely no compassion to us or our situation and has left her job not completed and did not fight for us to have our property returned with being charged financially for it. I don't want her actions to reflect poorly on the whole firm and I don't know about anyone else there but I do know that this lawyer is a disgrace to her field! You should be ashamed of yourself Cathryn taking advantage of people that needed your help and doing absolutely nothing to help them after taking some of the only money they had left and then leaving before your job was even complete when you were fully aware of the implications about your services no longer being required! You were paid for a job and we are financially in serious trouble and you know that so you knew full well we wanted you to complete what you were paid to do!!! You are a horrid person and we are not going to just let this go. After I got into a car accident and got a letter from ICBC saying my claim was denied, I actually…read morewasn't sure what to do (I'm not a lawyer; nor have I ever dealt with an ICBC claim before). Many people I would assume would probably be in the same situation at some point. A good friend recommended Mr. Robert Pryer, so I decided to meet and see if he could do anything for me. Parking by this office is quite nasty, so you may want to take SkyTrain. The office is actually way down the hall after you get out of the elevator and turn R. I had to look at the different doors and find my way. Staff were friendly, and professional. They reassured me on the process, and most importantly, gave me direction on how to proceed with a claim. Mr. Pryer has expertise in defending AGAINST claims (he used to work for ICBC), so this is exactly the kind of lawyer you want - one who has gone to the dark side and come back to fight for the people. He knows the ICBC system inside and out, and knows exactly how to work the system against ICBC. The staff kept me in the loop as my case progressed, and whenever a payment was needed or there was an update in progress, they would give me a call. The only out of pocket expense I had to pay up front was $250 (of which $50 was later refunded due to costs being lower than anticipated) to start the claims process. Everything else they fronted, then deducted from the settlement. They charge a 33.33% contingency, but this went up after taxes (GST/PST) and other expenses (such as having to pull my medical files from the doctor) were deducted. After all was said and done, I ended up with 55-60% of the settlement amount (tax-free). This percentage will change depending on your settlement amount, but just thought I'd give a heads up in case your amount is slightly lower than expected. If you are indeed injured after even a minor car accident, I would HIGHLY recommend retaining Mr. Pryer as counsel. This man knows what he's doing, and according to my friend, has a 100% success rate based on my friend's referrals. After he was done my case, his streak continues. No guarantees of course, but the odds are stacked in your favour if you have a legitimate case. Even though my experience was contingent on their ICBC expertise, this office also practices immigration law as well. They have staff who are bilingual in English and one of Japanese, Korean, Cantonese, or Mandarin. One last fact - in case you are wondering about Mr. Specht, unfortunately he passed away in 2012.

Recently, Filkow filed a complaint to Yelp "Jullianne says she spent 20 minutes and was charged. This is false. She spent close to 90 minutes in our office. She says the first consultation is free. That is false as well." Here is what happened. When I arrived, I waited for 20 mins. After I came in, I talked about my situation in 5 mins and there was 2 lawyers, 1 female & 1 male giving my advice. The advice was not to be charged in the first place and they will help me with it. Do you think this type of communication takes 90 mins that long? You must be kidding me! Not to mention that the lawyers became impatient after we started talking in 10 mins. Thats why I leave so fast. After I came to other 5 criminal lawyers, they charged me nothing for the first consultation and their rate was 3000 dollars lower than Filkow gave me. So terrible!! I contacted them initially on a Saturday via Yelp and followed up Monday. The friendly receptionist asked me to send in the paper work for the law team to review if they could help me. As time was of the essence, I quickly responded and sent in what they requested Monday. I followed up with an email Tuesday and when I did not hear back nearing the end of that day I phoned to enquire when I could set up an appointment. I was saddened to hear that the firm is too busy with other cases and they could not forsee a time when they could discuss my case with me. This exercise unfortunately cost me precious time in receiving an opinion on a time limited case. I am extremely disappointed they did not inform me from the beginning that they didn't have the time to meet with me (for 30 min!) to give an opinion. I wish I was posting another 5 star review after using their services, but my experience with them was anything but.
