It's the perfect place to see live music--big enough for great energy, but small enough that you feel connected to the performers. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is one-of-a-kind, and Grants Pass is lucky to have such a gem right downtown. Always an amazing experience.

Well the manager came over, right in front of me, inches I mean, and screamed at them "get the f**k out of here all of you!" At least 4x times over the live music. I was left shaking and so I went to the Manger and explained how uncomfortable that was. Then he proceeded to make it my fault. Said I shouldn't have been triggered and I'm putting myself into the situation. All I said was he was unprofessional and he could have handled it different. Then after the show, I walked up to a security guard to ask who else I can talk to. The manager came up and again, said it was my fault. It wasn't towards me. I get it wasn't towards me but I paid over 120 for 2 seats. And then to be treated like I was the problem is wild. No sorry no making it better. He tried to fight my husband and kicked me out, all for bringing up how poorly that was handled. I'm very upset.

Because my wife is a…read morehuge, huge fan of MacBeth...I moved heaven and earth to attend the last weekends presentation of MacBeth. We literally drove 1000 miles, round trip, to see the performance. It was amazing ! They added their own flourishes and inspiration to bring to life the tragedy unlike we've (my wife and I) ever seen on stage. It was complete! I only say this because some stage renditions minimize the witches...not so in this professional world class production! In addition to every word in the play...there was an amazing use of lights, sound effects, and in some instances dance. Did I mention, the acting was amazing!? World class!! As I mentioned, I learned about the festival very late in the season which starts mid-late spring every year. There were other Shakespeare plays being brought to life...in a theater that looked like the Globe...there were monologues in an outdoor area in front of the two theaters...there was a lot going on and a lot we missed because of how unprepared our visit was. Our goals was to see MacBeth which we accomplished but we missed a lot! In my opinion, it's best to plan a visit as a 4 day weekend. One of my motivations for attending this year is that MacBeth isn't produced every year, according to my friend to told me about the festival in the first place...all of Shakespeares work is explored here and on rotation...for example my favorite, Hamlet hasn't been produced in over 10yrs according to the lovely folks at the official souvenir shop of the festival...Romeo and Juliet not since 2018....they told us not to expect a MacBeth production for at least 8yrs! If you're on the west coast and you love Shakespeare and want to see works other than the tragedies on stage...I doubt you'll find a better organization/venue/location that wholeheartedly embraces Shakespeare than the town of Ashland and the the University of Southern Oregon! On last note, everyone from the ushers to those at the refreshment stand in our theater were nothing but lovely. I could say that about everyone in town as well. Just a great experience !

I make my living as a singer-songwriter in Los Angeles. I write mainly for TV and Film. However, I spent many years prior playing multiple leading roles in musicals. The fact that I knew how to protect my instrument is the reason I work. These days I'm singing everything from intense full voice rock songs to simple breathy ballads; knowing how to protect my instrument in all situations is vital. And Sarah planted the seeds for me to maintain this journey I am on. Sarah offered a loving, nurturing safe place to study, during a time in my life where that support made a huge difference. It's not easy being 14. At least it wasn't for me. But I will always hold dear the time I spent in Sarah's studio. I'm so grateful for what she gave me. I can't recommend studying with her enough. There is a lot more that goes into being a great singer, then just being born with a gift. Knowing how to protect your instrument, having a safe place to work your instrument, The importance of singing an Italian aria, even when maybe you'd rather sing a rock song :). These are things that Sarah gave me, that perhaps even at the time I didn't understand, but at this point in my life I am so truly grateful for!

While he has a passable voice, had never had voice lessons. Sarah was able to take him from raw talent to performance in less than two months. Not only did she impart skills for him to use onstage, she also instilled in him the confidence that he COULD carry the part. In my son's words, "She gave easy to understand instructions for someone who had never had lessons before." His performance brought glowing reviews from classmates and parents alike. One community theater director even invited him to audition with them. What's more, while my son is the typical fourteen-year old, interested in playing computer games with his friends, he wants to continue his voice lessons with Sarah even though the musical is over.

Also, in the past when I was part of the music ministry team at my church, I took a series of voice lessons under Mary Ann. I learned a ton and my confidence and skill as a vocalist grew exponentially through her lessons and encouragement. Our family has had an excellent experience at Groovin' on Music and we plan to have my younger child start lessons there soon. Definitely recommend.
