I've avoided trying this for years! Now I wish I would've just tried it a long time ago. I have fibromyalgia and other chronic pains. I get to the point where my back feels like it burning on fire and it HURTS! After my first time a week ago, I lasted 4 days without that burning feeling! That is HUGE to me! Went again today for my second time ever. The burning is gone again! I guess with fibromyalgia it will take awhile to get the full effect. With the results I've had from the last two sessions makes me want to continue doing it so I can get to that level. It doesn't hurt at all!! Not gonna lie. That's the part I've always feared because I am absolutely terrified of needles. It's a little tiny poke. That's it! And the red light lamp over it makes it very relaxing to the point you might just doze off I will continue this treatment and hope for the best! So glad I did! Went to Paul Lu a couple weeks ago and my arm hasn't hurt since. I was extremely skeptical but thought this must work if insurance covers it. The first visit took 1hr and he was extremely thorough, much more thorough than the MD's I work with. He was also very fast once we got to the needle placement. It took maybe 2min for him to place 8 pins in my arm. You can tell he has been doing this for over 35 years by how efficient he is. Then he turned on this warming light over my arm for 20min. I listened to classical music and fell asleep. He came in pulled out the needles and I was on my way. My arm felt asleep for an hour then the pain was gone! I was in disbelief so I tried to pick up objects that had previously made it hurt and couldn't get the pain to come back! AMAZING! I can't say enough about how amazing acupuncture is and have been back twice since. Apparently you can use acupuncture for depression and anxiety so I took my son in there today. The clinic is in a lil bit sketchy neighborhood, but it's very clean and that's all I really care about. I'm sure he's probably a lot less expensive compared to other places because of his low overhead and location.
