Her prices are very reasonable . In my state , for a MD to interpret genetic tests results are around 5 K. I was very surprised and grateful for the cost . She is less expensive than CA. This was a big disappointment. I paid 5k and wasn't even able to see the doctor. The nutritionist she had me seeing cancelled the appointment last minute on me then rescheduled and didn't even have enough time to go over all my results. They refused to do other testing on me unless I signed up for a program that cost over $18k. (This is all out of pocket btw.) Then they prescribed over $14k in supplements annually from a company that she owns. Oh, but wait...you get a 10% discount for the first month. But not after that unless you sign up for the $18k program. I don't care how big her social media presence is, this was a big mistake. It's more like a pill mill than a health care facility. They don't treat you like you are meaningful...just someone to make more $$ off of. I took the labs to a local functional medicine doctor and was given way better care. Pro: She does try to be thorough in her appointments which is nice. Cons: I waited over an hour and half in the lobby alone (appointment was at 4, not even during the "rush") and another time I had a sinus infection and did not get my antibiotic until FOUR DAYS LATER. I have been seeing Dr Hosoda for about 7 years now. The wait is long but that is because traditional health models do not allow the time necessary to thoroughly evaluate patients. I believe she is the best doctor out there and does not immediately default to drugs to solve health problems. IF, and only IF you like sitting for an hour OR more waiting for your doctor repeatedly...then this is the DR for you! Even Dr Hosoda informed me if I did not like the wait that she invited me to find a new DR. This last week I went in for my annual exam which I scheduled months in advance and was to be the 1st appointment of the day...I wasn't...I waited an hr and still NO DR!!! I left the exam room going to the front desk to get my copay back. I had been up for 19 hrs by that point and had Zero humor. The dr is talented but way over booked and no worth y time. Very thorough and not just a drug pusher, she will delve into the root cause of what is going on. Yes, you will prob wait a bit, but taking time for a Doctor that listens is worth it and very much a shortage in today's medical community. I moved away and still drive back to see her. Let me tell you how fantastic Dr. Hosoda is..... She is so thorough in checking everything that could possibly be wrong with you. Several years ago I had 5 mini strokes and she was the only one to find out what was wrong. She literally saved my life. I have MTHFR which means I don't absorb vitamin B very well. I have to take Methyl B. People who have this can have strokes or a heart attack and some die from this. I had no reason to have these strokes but she dug deeper and found the reason. Yes, you may have to wait and I admit that has been tough at times but no other doctor would have found that problem. It is so comforting to know that she is truly looking out for me on every level. If you have a cold, maybe a walk in clinic is good but if you really want help, she is amazing. Just plan some extra time and bring a book. And know she will be just as thorough with you. Dr. Hosoda is knowledgeable, thorough and an outstanding physician! I have had the distinct pleasure of doing my clinical rotation with her for 5 weeks. I am told repeatedly by her clients they don't mind waiting because she will spend quality time with them and address ALL their concerns. Yes, wait times here tend to be on the longer side but this is because Dr. Hosada actually takes her time on whomever she is seeing. If you'd like cookie cutter 15minute in and out appointments where your concerns aren't addressed and discussed then this is not the place for you. I've been coming here for a couple years and drive about an hour since I've moved to keep coming to Dr. Hosada. Dr. Emi Hosoda is the finest doctor my husband and I have ever had. If you are desperate for the proper diagnosis, she WILL find out what's wrong with you, and if you are in need of a specialist, she'll refer you to the best (and work in concert with them). If you have ongoing issues, she will set you on a path to health through diet and dietary supplementation. She does her utmost to keep people off of the drug merry-go-round but certainly prescribes them when necessary. You hear a lot about "Integrative Medicine" and "Functional Medicine" - well, that's what Dr. Hosoda is about. It's like having a naturopath and the best MD all in one! She spends a LOT of time with you and doesn't treat you as though you were an object on an assembly line. She really cares about her patients. Yes, you have to wait. So what? People don't seem to mind waiting to get into concerts, mall openings or to go on rides, etc! It's just simple logic that she's going to spend the time you need to have with a doctor with YOU if she's spending it with others! You'll just have to block out time for your health - oh, well! Many people drive for hours to see Dr. Hosoda (we used to do so until we moved to Enumclaw), and for good reason. If you want a "quick fix," a quickie drug-dispensing doctor, or only want a 5-minute appointment, go elsewhere. I have not seen this Dr. in over 5 yrs, however I got an EOB (explanation of benefits) from my insurance company that she billed me for a visit for April of this year, how does that happen. I have called the insurance and the medical insurance fraud complaint office be very careful of this Dr. and her billing. read more
