This wonderful business will bring your fur baby home for an extra $15. I love this because I won't have to go to the vet crying and be handed my baby's ashes like it's a receipt. Thank you for this extra service. read more

The staff at Emerson are doing God's work. Tracey was unerringly kind and patient during an incredibly difficult time. She and her colleague always picked up the phone immediately; when I scheduled and then rescheduled a private service within a matter of minutes, they didn't bat an eye. I went to the facility this morning to see my baby. She had been carefully arranged with her little paws folded on her chest, and her eyes were nearly closed. She looked as if she were fast asleep. Her private service was that - absolutely private. I got her paw print this morning; I picked up her ashes five hours later. I hope I don't need to use Emerson's services for another decade or more. When my other baby does walk on, I will be taking her to Emerson. Thank you so much, Tracey. read more

We were traveling and woke up one Saturday morning to one of our cats was very ill. We find a Vet and take her there. Unfortunately she passed before we got there. The Vet held her for us until I was able to call Emerson. Emerson agreed to take her with the added urgency being that we were leaving Amarillo on Tuesday morning. They picked Kit Kat up from the Vet on Saturday and took her to Lubbock for the cremation. Brought her back to Amarillo Sunday night and to the Vet on Monday morning. Emerson went over the top and let us by text/phone let us know where she was at all times. I felt they treated Kit Kat as if she was one of their pets. Hopefully when I have to do this again I have the same experience. read more

We recently had an elderly cat pass. Tracy was very patient and caring every time I called. I never felt like I was bothering her as she patiently answered my questions. Although I hope I don't need the service again anytime soon, I wholeheartedly recommend them for anyone who needs to have their fur baby remains handled expertly, and with compassion and care. read more

Emerson Pet Cremation is a member of the International Association of Pet Cemeteries & Crematories (IAOPCC). We adhere to their strict Code of Ethics and Standards. Although this is not a requirement we feel like it's the right thing to do because our pets are worth it.

Meet the Business Owner: Tracy H.

Tracy is a "military brat" and has lived all over the United States. She has worked in the veterinary field for over 15 years. Her work inspired her to open Emerson Pet Cremation to insure the aftercare for pets was done ethically and with respect for the pets who loved us unconditionally. Tracy currently has 2 dogs and 2 cats, all of them rescues.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This has been one of the most upsetting experiences imaginable during one of the hardest times of our lives. We trusted Emerson Pet Cremation to treat our beloved cat with dignity and respect, and instead we were met with disappointment every step of the way. The communication between Emerson Pet Cremation and the emergency veterinary clinic was clearly nonexistent. The emergency vet clinic told us our baby's ashes would be returned to us the very next day. Instead, we waited eight long days with little communication and no sense of urgency. Whether the misinformation came from Emerson or the clinic, the lack of communication between the two left us grieving even longer than necessary. Then, after finally receiving her ashes, we discovered she wasn't even in the urn we paid for. We were given an entirely different urn than the one we purchased. How does something like that happen? At a time when families are grieving, the least you can do is make sure they receive exactly what they paid for. Because of the repeated mistakes and lack of professionalism, we are now left questioning everything. Was our baby truly treated with respect? Was she actually cremated individually like we were promised? We will never know, and that is an absolutely heartbreaking feeling to live with. When people entrust you with the care of their beloved family member, there is no room for careless mistakes or poor communication. Instead of helping us find peace and closure, this experience left us with anger, doubt, and even more grief. We do want to acknowledge that the staff members we spoke with at Emerson were kind and courteous. Unfortunately, that did not change the outcome or erase the mistakes that caused us so much additional heartache during an already devastating time. read more
