Decent firm for migration and family law matters. Unfortunately, the firm exploitatively acquires and churns through "work-experience" law clerks/interns for free labour on menial tasks. The low quality of the "work experience program" aside, I was interested in the program and had worked 2-3 days a week for 3 months with no remuneration; figuring that my free labour would be worth the stellar reference I would acquire from the firm.
So I was shocked when, after I was in the "work experience program" for months, they completely ghosted me (numerous times!) when I had politely requested a reference from them- despite assurances that they would be more than happy to provide references at any point.
Luckily, I had other great references I could rely on instead.
Law students should completely avoid this firm's "work experience" program (unless there have been significant changes since I had worked there in 2020). read more
