We appreciated working with a local, family owned company who is committed to serving the Gulf Breeze, Navarre, and Pensacola area (i.e. who didn't disappear to work in Mexico Beach, chasing the clean-up work post Hurricane Michael). We set up the project with them in November and asked that it start the first week in January. The work started on time, the demolition, rough construction, plumbing, tile work, electrical, and finishing carpentry work was done daily, and was finished in exactly TWO weeks! (The custom glass saloon-style doors can't be measured until the tile work is done. They were installed two weeks later, so the whole project took four weeks from beginning to end.) They discovered an unknown active termite problem (a blessing in disguise!) and worked very collaboratively with Bryan Pest Control to kill and remove them without the added work upsetting the timeline. John designed the project with his CAD program to help us imagine the possibilities of the space, Karen was the project estimator and work scheduler/coordinator, and Chris was our on-site coordinator and carpenter. (That guy can do anything and make it look easy!) Tony also effortlessly installed the tile. And the cost for the whole project was very reasonable. We now have a very functional master bath and we are SO pleased with it! It has a pocket door to close off the toilet area with ADA compliant grab bars, a roll-in rain and hand-held shower with grab bars that easily accommodates a wheelchair, a new closet for added storage, new floor tiles, and new quartz countertop and sinks. There were no surprise costs. All of the workers were very proud of the quality work they did and were very professional. We couldn't be happier. Oversprayed paint on our concrete, brick, roof, roof shingles, and solar panels. Our new gate…read morewon't close after one week, fence is completely coming apart after one week, no show April 24, 2025 to come fix fence, gate, and clean up overspray on concrete, brick, and white dog door in back. Altered invoices AFTER paid in full to include $150 to remove one screw and a corner board from carport while having the ladder nearby, would have gladly paid $25 or $50 but not $150 but Leslie did this. Added another line item of paint $220. They still owe us $1150 for the overpayment which we thought was for fencing but was for the discount they gave us due to the job being around $12,000. Even though they advertise on Yelp, Nextdoor, and HOUZZ and other apps that they are a General Contractor, they are not and in Okaloosa County and the state of Florida they are NOT licensed to do siding and failed to put flashing on our new siding so insurance will not take off the "red flag" until it is done correctly. Exterior doors, structural repairs, roofing, new electrical, is not allowed in Okaloosa County. They are a nice couple at first, they want the job and the money but if you tell them something is potentially wrong or even ask questions about your project, they go into defense mode despite the evidence. We even asked Leslie if a permit was required for the fence she said no and that is correct, but a permit is required for the siding they put in and they did not pull the permit. Mr Ortiz cut a pipe in the back by the back master bedroom and bathroom and it flooded the next day for nearly one full week. We did not blame them only asked if they knew where the water might be coming from inside since the pipe in the middle of the house was disturbed. The overspray on our roof shingles and solars panels is something TIMMERMAN ROOFING, who came out to inspect, has never seen in their many years of business. A total disregard for protecting our roof and we had no idea until our neighbors brought it to our attention. Leslie refused us 3x to come clean up the overspray; they charged us for pressure washing $200 and as you can see in the photos they never did the tops of them, they are still filthy but the guys who did it before just used a ladder but Leslie charged us anyway. And they DO NOT GUARANTEE THEIR WORK/labor AS ADVERTISED and are NOT GENERAL CONTRACTORS as shown in their company photos and titled Advertisements. We do not recommend using them at all.

The salesman was Eragon and Said to me I was here before and I gave you an estimate did you ever get your lanai and I said yes I did $5000 cheaper than your estimate just to let you people know there are better competitors and better prices make sure you guys get at least three estimate trust me I used to be a contractor.

I printed and initialed where necessary on one page of their contract and sent a check. When they indicated they were done, I sent another check. I thought it was over. I had no clue about the quality of workmanship they were using or clear on the time it would take. They apparently started the work immediately and finished quickly. I was contacted occasionally by Mica to see if the paperwork was in order. Because I was skeptical of using a website that is proprietary, all I printed was the page asking me to initial what we wanted on the suggestion list. I had NO CLUE Sugar Sands Construction made a video of the home before they started, a video of work in progress, and a video of the completed project. This was accompanied by more than 50 photos of the work. All surfaces in all rooms appear great. They corrected the siding on the home which was a serious challenge. Only because my wife is a Realtor do I rely on their resources. Our trust in Tammy really paid off with her suggestion on a contractor that had the resources to update the look of our second home.
