Luckily, I live in the Bay now, where therapy seems to be the trendy thing to do, and so I decided to try it for the first time. I was recommended by a friend to Valerie, and it was mind-blowing how easy everything was. I'd always thought of therapy as you see it in the movies, with an older, traditional person asking you, 'And how do you feel about that?' while you're lying down, wishing you were anywhere else but in that room. A session with Valerie felt more like a conversation with a best friend who was simply curious about why I was feeling a certain way. She'd ask interesting questions that would make me go, 'Ooh! I've never thought about that before,' and in the process of coming up with my answer, I'd realize all of these things about myself that had never come up before. I don't know how she does it with such simple questions while still making it seem like a fun hang out session with a friend, but I was mind-blown. Definitely would recommend anyone to talk with her!!!
